she knew it was a wrap bruh she started crying instantly because she knew that all hope of them walking away alive was dead when he mentioned his daughter
IMO it's hard to believe that one can instill the fear of God into the hearts of a cartel leader. They do so many terrible things to people like torture and mutilation that it's even questionable IF they believe in a God at all.
If he's such a "a brilliant actor" and it's such a great story....Then why didn't he smoke her in the first scene shown here? Why would he keep her alive, it makes no sense.
@@annaravenhand5536 your comment has absolutely nothing to do with his character, or him as an actor.... Pretty moronic actually. She is on the same team and he was only warning her not to get In his way to finish what he has planned. Have you even watched the movies or just randomly talk shit🤦🏼♂️
The movie was made so masterfully, with Alejandro's backstory revealed slowly - wife decapitated, daughter dropped in a vat of acid - that by this point, viewer feels zero empathy for the drug lord as his family is massacred.
@@fohclan5594 The point is that the family didn't have anything to do with it, especially the kids. They didn't have any choice who their father was. He could have just killed the guy. Maybe his wife if she knew what kind of man he was. By killing those kids, he essentially becomes just like the cartel boss. It's really an insult to the memory of his wife and daughter.
@@CGCampbellJr but people don’t talk or consider him when discussing great actors. He’s not mentioned in the likes of the all time greats is all I meant. Sure when you look at his accomplishments those are awards well deserved. I agree.
@@xzed6394 I'm tired of all these bs comments too tbh though. Cringe af. They come in many different forms. Cliches and made up quotes that aren't as deep as they think if you ask me
Mexico, a land of rich resources, lovely beaches, and wonderful food. It's a shame what has happened. I wish them well, hope they fix things down there, we got a bunch to fix up here too.
I cant tell you how refreshing the first scene was. She was getting on my nerves sooooo much. The entitlement, arrogance was off the scales. He shut all that down!
Me too!! I had previously seen him in The Usual Suspects, but did not pay him much attention until I watched Traffic. Great movie. Great observation and taste fam.
I'm quite sure Alejandro is based on a real character or a collection of characters. It is well known how the CIA helped establish the Colombian cartels and controls the Mexican ones. Such great film making and fantastic acting.
After he kills the three of them he wanted to take advantage of revenge but the more he looked at his father the more he saw himself so he killed him right away, it gave me that impression.
It's quite clear he wasn't sorry. At least he wasn't sorry for what he did, only for the fact that it caught up to him. Such a blatant lie would have likely angered Alejandro more
@@GuganeshanT very true. he can show many emotions without changing his facial expressions. interestingly, another actor that can do this and really has stood out to me for years is Jason Bateman.
"Not in front of my sons" Be careful what you wish for, he gave you exactly that. Your wife and sons will die before you, giving you just enough time to feel the devastation of losing everything you love, just like Alejandro did. Experience it just long enough to regret everything, then die too. Brilliant.
Alejandro was a force of nature bent on revenge. Payback for the loss of his family, he was unleashed by a black bag group to bring his own violent justice to those who wronged him. To Alejandro you were either a part of the solution or you were part of the problem.
I think the mystery is best and gives he character the right air. This shadowy amoral character from Medellìn is way better for the story than a downtrodden father who was only trying to provide for his little girl... or whatever other formulaic garbage Hollywood could "come up" with.
Join the army or marines or navy. Qualify for special forces. Serve several years in overseas duty in broken down shitholes---learn to survive on your own in hostile areas, serve in actual "direct action" missions, learn to infiltrate and exfiltrate, reconnaissance, if you're still alive, apply to the CIA as they recruit from SF units for their paramilitary units and direct action missions. Voila!
