What a fantastic few months it's been. Seeing the colours change from the green of Summer, through the oranges of Autumn, to the white of Winter has been a pleasure to film. We really hope you've enjoyed being along for the ride. With the new microphone and improved positions, things are only going to get better from here.

Diggle Diaries: An attempt to film all daylight running freight and interesting workings from Diggle Junction. Situated on the picturesque Trans-Pennine, Manchester to Huddersfield and Leeds route, Diggle Jn lies at the top of a steep incline leading into Standedge Tunnel. Providing beautiful scenery, varied freight and trains working hard up the hill, there aren’t many better places for a bit of trainspotting.

Love the camera work. Brings back memories from growing up in the seventies in Stalybridge. We often cycled up the canal tow path to Diggle. It looks like the line gets a lot more use now. Back then there was very little freight. Most went via The Calder valley but there were a few exceptions. Evening freight liners and a Healey Mills to Arpley that was always a 37, a rare sight west of "the hill" in those days. We called the "type three" before TOPs. and never imagined they would last this long in service.

Thanks a lot Christopher, glad to bring you some nostalgia! Would have loved to be around back then for the spotting. Love a 'Type 3', goes to show what a fantastic loco they were that they're still trundling along these days.

I really enjoyed watching this. Beautifully filmed with clear attention given to composition and lighting. Great editing and the location maps just put icing on the cake. 30 minutes well spent!

You've done it again, another great vid and plenty of time to read the caps. The Engineering train controlled by tractor beam from Mars would have ben on my favourite list but hay-ho we are all different. Again, many thanks and Compliments of the Season.

Thanks a lot Bill, those captions were for you! Glad they're better now, appreciate that feedback! Damn I missed the laser HST, I tried to keep the vid to 30 mins and to be honest i'm not 100% satisfied with any of the shots of it yet. Hopefully we get it through in daylight at some point.

Haha don't worry that was an old clip, found it on my hard drive and just had to include it! Don't think any of the DRS choppers are mainline operational atm sadly. Not to worry mate, anything you miss will no doubt be caught in one of my vids lol 😉

@@DiggleJunction ah i got worried there for a second 😟. Im hoping theres a few more 37s and other things like that through December as i am no longer busy after this week but im still annoyed i missed 419 and 425 though! Great video!

@@ThePennineWanderer fingers crossed mate, there’s two due through Diggle tomorrow (0Z37&38) at 0802 and 1339 from Crewe to York that have been 37’s before. Will either be 68’s or 37’s, but hoping for the latter.

Sorry mate I didn't see your reply! It didn't end up running and I doubt the one this afternoon will either. It dawned on me last night the headcode was 0Z'37' so it was probably a 37. I've seen the same running with a 68 headcode so thats probably a give away.

@@DiggleJunction yes I saw it at about 8 o clock as cancelled. I had set my alarm clock to get up aswell lol. Ive seen those headcodes before when its 0Z68 and has been a 68. Im not sure why it was cancelled but it was bit unlucky.
