It's a bit of both. He has his repeated setups and routines and then improvises off that. He even word for word had the breakup bit twice in this compilation. I'm sure he could rip a 100% improvised set, but that's not what he does - not here anyway

He's beyond Netflix specials. Those always have to be tailored and polished so the comedy caters to the lowest common denominator. No crowd work. Nothing too offensive. This compilation is great, but none of that would be in a Netflix special. I'd rather see an hour-long compilation of this compilation on NF.

A lot of experienced and successful comedians have disparaged crowd work because they say you don't have prepared material. But it does require an enormous amount of improv and wit to do it. I personally find it hilarious. But I've never seen Stavros' prepared bits
