I remember when I started to watch the show, I wasn’t familiar with the book (own it now) and assumed it would be an enemies to friends plot. Imagine my delighted surprise when I discovered not only did they hit it off as friends immediately, but they would become the healthiest couple I’ve seen of late and likely only couple in existence to have been married for 6,000 years. Edit: Yes I know the dramatic irony of this comment now 😔

Just commenting to emphasize the "healthiest couple" bit. They have their communication issues (ahem) and even healthy couples disagree (often, loudly even) but their dynamic is gold.

One thing I noticed is that Crowley will often circle around Aziraphale while Aziraphale just stands stiff and still. And that was one of the first hints that they had switched bodies. Because when they're ordering ice cream, Azi is the one to circle around Crowley. And I may be mistaken but I think Crowley also orders ice cream which is out of character because he never eats, only drinks. So that may have been another hint unless I'm misremembering.

I've read (and listened to) The Nice and Accurate Prophesies of Alice Nutter, Witch many, many times. The portrayals of Crowley and Aziraphale matched up pretty well with the images I had conjured up in my mind over the decades. Terry Pratchett would have been pleased.

The book says Crowley has black hair. Not that Tennant looks bad. There’s a sort of in joke about his getting to be ginger. I love the way they look in the show, but it doesn’t exactly match the book,
