I saw something like this when a car with caravan stopped at a Zebra crossing and the lorry behind didn't. It was a sight to behold...

@@carnbyarst670 Caravans don't survive any kind of impact well, do they ? I was once passed on the motorway while doing around 60mph in my lorry by a Volvo towing a caravan at something like 80mph. I thought it probably wasn't going to end well, and sure enough a few miles further along I saw a lot of brake lights ahead. When I got a little further the motorway was covered in what appeared to be matchwood. That was the caravan ! 😂

True, but it's a kid's natural reaction to cry when they're in an unusually scary situation, so as to get parental attention. The hit wasn't nearly hard enough to have caused them any actually harm.

Personally I think the cam car caused that incident. Was in such a hurry to get across the junction before the car they hit turned across them. This is evidenced by the cam car reving and starting to creep forward while the lights where still on red and pedestrians were on the crossing. Utterly awful driving from someone that that would seem full of their own self importance. Wait until the lights are green and the junction is clear and then proceed, incident wouldn’t have happened.

That was a "crash for cash". the overtaking car braked suddenly with no reason for stopping.

Yeah, and cropped the footage from whatever happened before - you can hear some muttering in the moments leading up, something was already going on before this ludicrous display...

Not only did he not slow down at all (and looked like he actually sped up) but there was plenty of room on the left to slow down and pull onto the grass to avoid hitting anything. Instead he started to swerve left, realised "hey, I could claim" then swerved right to hit the car. Ain't no way he's getting anything out of that because he made no attempt to slow down when he saw the brake lights in front. It doesn't matter if no one was infront the car, the car could have malfunctioned for all Jakey boi knew. Just because there's no external reason for a car to stop doesn't mean there's no reason all together. The other guy MIGHT have been trying to scam but Jake had enough room, time and control to avoid the accident but he didn't, opting to crash and try to claim from it. Neither side are innocent here and Jake had enough time to avoid the crash so he'd be at fault for this one, especially after swerving into the car.

I like to think of myself as being a bit of a tough lad but that made me tear up a bit :(

I think the reason why the overtaking car stopped so suddenly after overtaking was because he missed his exit on the left.

Judging by the constant acceleration I reckon the cam car must have just pulled out into the road. However the Audi was braking for a full 5 seconds before the cam car even started reacting!

I agree I was a cyclist for two years, and never had an incident. I had indicator lights, floodlights, and break lights installed on my bicycle. Even with all those I still did hand signals, and I always stayed near the sidewalks and never in the middle of the road. Some cyclists do not care about rules, for many times I see people flash by me and later find them in a ditch. Now I don't cycle anymore but prevention is better than cure.

I've had drivers piss off after crashing into me on the bike - even with a registration, the police do sod all. I think "dangerous" is the multitude of motorists driving like maniacs. The cyclist hurt himself and caused a bit of damage.

The guy in front was brake checking him, he had absolutely no reason to slam on his brakes like that. Yes Jake had time to probably avoid it but doesn't change the fact the guy that overtook him tried to make it happen.

I seem to recall from last time this was posted that he flashed at the car going past and the driver actually stopped because of that like he thought it was an emergency. Hence why you should never use lights or horn as an act of frustration or anger, only for emergency

Lightspeed Gaming its the driver behinds responsibility to respond to hazards developing ahead of them. Jake failed to do that and decided to drive at a constant speed into the rear of a stationary vehicle for absolutely no reason.

Jake was doing 22mph when the car initiated the overtake. Now this could be because of the layout of the road, but unfortunately for Jake, he left the coordinates in the clip, and that road is complete straight with no intersections atleast 400m before the clip starts. So I really doubt Jake had any intent of going faster than 22mph. Now, when the car initiated the overtake, Jake suddenly decided to more than double his speed, to 48mph, while being overtaken. This is one of the most dangerous things to do, and honestly that alone is quite disturbing. Then, when the car that overtook him, for some reasons stops, Jake just completely forgets that braking is an option and I can only assume he deliberately rams the car with over 40 mph, which is enugh speed to cause paralysis to the occupants of both vehicles. The fact that someone like this is on the road, is truly disturbing, and I hope he isn't driving any more

Something similar happened just before xmas outside the local primary school at hometime. Car pulled out without looking causing Lorry with a trailer of steel billets to brake harshly shedding his load. You can still see the dents in the road.

Basically, if you're turning right or going straight ahead you enter the roundabout in the right hand lane. If you're turning left or going straight ahead you enter in the left hand lane. The problems happen when someone pays no attention to the signs as they approach the roundabout, enter it in the wrong lane, then cut across other traffic. Roundabouts are perfectly safe if the driver has more than two brain cells. Sadly, a lot don't !

In the eyes of insurance companies if a car doesn’t give way to the right at a roundabout and gets hit pulling out it doesn’t matter if the car who hit them reacted or not it’s still the one who pulled outs fault. They failed to give way. Insurance doesn’t work that way. You can crash into them and make a clear point by fucking their no claims bonus, getting an injury payout and a new motor out of it. Then they’ll think twice before not giving way.

@@TheLink1977 Wilfy was in the right lane. If he'd checked his mirror and/or blind spot he would have seen the other driver had no intention of taking that exit and just gone around the roundabout again. The other driver was technically in the wrong, but Wilfy reacted poorly by trying to barge past him anyway.

I'll mention it because I was shocked by it. Sonmeone had to have died in that accident though I'm reluctant to call it an "accident". They're not "accidents" - they are caused by something that the driver has or has not done i.e. driver error.

Unless, of course, the family agrees to the video being shown as a warning to others. What happened there looked like it was intentional. I just hope it was not a domestic violence incident and that they did not take someone with them.

@@mixsynth Exactly, it's why smart motorways can be very dangerous. I had the big end in my Land Rover go and only momentum took me onto the hard shoulder, if it had been a smart motorway then I'd have probably been toast.

If dash cam footage is to be submitted in court, it has to be released to the other party first. It's part of the legal process in this country that all parties have access to the evidence prior to any court case. That's to allow such things to be examined by experts who can interpreted it. It also means that if the evidence is compelling it can change a plea or, in a civil case, accept liability. It can avoid a lot of expensive legal costs in such cases.
