Thats what scares me when Hollywood and Durham mingle. Especially since Durham over the past 10 years has been doing everything it seems to erase Durham's history. And when you speak of race relations in the climate the United States are in I'm twice as nervous when I hear Hollywoods putting a movie out about Race relations surrounding Durham My daughter goes to school with C.P.' grandson and I've been quite worried about the effect it will have on his family. C.P. was a good man and a man of character I truly hope the movie captures the unity this city shares with one another and the world. Black white yellow brown green no matter the race! I will just have to wait and see! The players of the rolls? Needless to say Awesome, but Awesome!
Jake Fucking H. Still be dropping the best fucking questions in the business. Dude your like literallly Quentin Tarantino of P&R asking questions brother fucking nice to be with Sam Roth!!!
I wasn't expecting Taraji to say Will Smith, but it's not surprising how impactful he can be. I also wasn't expecting Sam to say Drew Barrymore. I loved him in Charlie's Angels haha
For someone who actually knows Ann atwalter I grow up with this lady at Sunday dinner with her and went to the same church..... She give Rough house Ann justice I know ms.ann is very happy
Always enjoy the actors response to your original, thoughtful questions. A lot more engaging for them and us as the audience. I respect the research you do and the energy you bring to each interview. Cant wait to see more!
They deserve an Oscar big time! I watched it the other day and they did a marvelous job! I knew having the Sam and Taraji play in this movie would be perfect and they KILLED it‼️💖💛💜♥️💖💚💜💛♥️💛💚💜💙💛♥️💖💙
I grew up in Detroit during the 80s. My father grew up in Detroit during the 50s and 60s and 70s. The way I have to think about this movie is that is a fabulous thing. The reason why is because people are scared of change and that being a thot is that they have to work towards it. There's different sides of the fence in the fence has to be broke down. Well I grew up in Detroit area during the 80s we had so many mixed cultures and you couldn't ignore that. Also my father didn't let me ignore that. He said to me we live inside a mixing bowl and you have to learn how every family is different but never be afraid of it and always learn from it. I guess I was lucky because it's made me a more understanding person adapt of different races and religions. Now I live in northern Michigan we don't have the different mixes of races and religions. I have a young daughter that is going to be 10 years old but I teach her these things and let her know there's nothing wrong about being different because you haven't learned it. People are so scared sometimes to learn something different about someone else and hate is a horrible thing if you want to put that towards how you should feel about someone's different race or religion. That will never be part of my family. So I'm so happy this movie came out to give people a different aspect of hell we can grow as human beings and communities.
What a great interview! Very well done by the interviewer 🙌🏼 Great questions, great interactions between the three of them... Very Nice! ♥️ I LoOove Sam Rockwell!!!!!!!!!¡!
Hell no taraji didn't do her justice. They couldn't cast Retta from Parks and Rec, Good Girls??? She wouldve been way more believable in the role of Ann Atwater. Uzo Aduba , Michael Hyatt couldve served that role. That looked like cookie in a fat suit wearing a fro and black face. Ridiculous!🙄
I had no preconceived ideas of blacks since there were none living in our town back in the 70's however when I entered High School, I seen firsthand how the black students had a chip on their shoulder and once a year would cause a riot just to get out of school and show their power, hate and anger. They'd tear up the school, pick on the white kids they didn't like and cause all kinds of violence. I didn't understand it then since I was a teen. Where were the teachers then and where are the whites now? There's just as much, if not more racism these days by the blacks but political correctness is the mantra of the day. Where are the movies showing the other side of the equation? Jessi Smollet is just a tiny demonstration of what is going on In the black community.
It seems you do have preconceived notions about black people. Your experience was not one that was beyond your personal view. And it’s very easy to see through the rosy lens of how things transpired, when they were rigged to cater to whites only and not to blacks. Have you ever asked any of those black boys and girls why they were so angry? If not anonymous person...you were a part of the conflict they expressed outwardly. Find out who people are before grouping them into your cookie cutter judgements. And last I checked a torn down school can be rebuilt but bullets tearing through the innocent will be a grief that will plague parents until their final breathes on Earth.
