I owned a RS2000 with twin 45 webers and it pulled the front left hand side wheel of the ground from a standing start. West Torrens Dyno loved it. It lost traction in 3rd gear.....was also adle to reach 185km per hour. Midnight Blue. What a car
Nice , in the colour I always wanted yet never got. I had a 79 RS2000 Custom in black with black vinyl roof and bronze tints etc although it was 2.1 with all the bit's. Shake my head now that I sold it.
It's the power band of the BDA engine that made the Escort a world beater, max power at 7k all the way to 10k, that's the advantage the BDA had over other engines, you could power into a corner without running out of revs before changing gear.
I had two MK2's and a MK1. We used to spend or wages and weekends modifying them! None of these are standard Escort engines. They used to fit them with 2 litre Pinto and RS Cosworth engines. My dad had a rally MK1 with a Lotus twin cam fitted! Tail happy cars and rust buckets but loads of fun.
@@md_randoms2429 cus yous dunno anything about these types of motors 2.0 ,1.8 ,1.6 ,and still use the inch spanners, there all mm bolts on Euro cars , unless its a stuffed V8 that guzzles petrol and wouldn't pull ur socks off ,remember in 85/86 Audi came over to the state's to try NASCAR in a 3 "2.2 200 Audis to try competing against the V8s and literary every yank laughed at them saying u havnt a chance against our V8s ,and they finished 1,2,3rd in the 3 cars ,we squeeze more power from 2 litres than use can with 6 litres and 8 pistons,fact ,can u not import the mk 2s?

The closest might have been the Capri; sold thru Lincoln/Mercury dealers back in the 70's. I believe they were available with both the 2.0 Pinto engine and the 2.3. The first generation Fiesta was sold here in the States for a short while. I drove a rental for a few weeks. Had the 1.6 and 4 speed. I absolutely loved it!
Wish forza horizon did this sound more honor instead of giving it the same sound as a honda civic just like all the rest of 4 banger cars from this era
