@@LNRicky 100% mate #kenny4life I had my differences with him on occasions but he was a survivor and was a huge father figure to Clementine. Absolute hero ❤️
Kenny turns into wholesome season 1 kenny in all his 1 on 1 scenes with Clem. Then whenever somone else turns up his eyebrows just furrow. Just goes to show how much he rlly does care ab Clementine.
I always preferred the Wellington ending, it puts an end to Kenny's arc within season 1 and 2 without giving him a shitty flashback death scene in Season 3. I truly found this the end of Kenny's story for me.
Plus he could still be alive if you made that choice in season 2, he's more then likely in Florida in season 4 with a new group or safe settlement. That's my ending head canon for him.
Kenny was by far the most interesting character this game series ever had, because there were so many different layers to his personality. Yes, at times he could be extremely stubborn, harsh and unforgiving, yet at other times he could be extremely warm, compassionate and selfless, and I think that that in and of itself made his character extremely relatable on a human level, as those are behaviors I think everyone can identify with, as we have all exhibited them in different situations throughout our lives. You don't have to like his character, but you can't deny that it was very relatable from those aspects.
@@furious3383 - Agreed. Unlike Jane, who committed suicide and thereby abandoned Clementine and AJ, he stayed with them to the end. I wish he had survived to the last season, and if his character had to be killed off, I wish he could have been killed off in a much better way, if there is such a thing, then as he was in season 3.
Kenny’s my ride or die. To me these games are about found family. Fighting for it. Kenny was a part of that family. He’s an angry man, but he’d die for the family he found in Clem and AJ. When I tell AJ not to swear in season 4, I like to think that’s Kenny’s influence rubbed off on Clem.
It's sad that Lee died because he really was Kenny's regulator, as soon as Lee died Kenny made rash decision after rash decisions, till he scared everyone around him. Lee really was the only guy who could talk Kenny down from any situation.
@@ynol4879 That’s why I always try to be nice to Kenny as both Lee and Clem. I get the impression that he grew up with an abusive father while he was talking about him. The “taught me respect” line he says while fixing the truck sold it for me. Kenny was probably beaten down his whole life, found happiness in his family and the apocalypse came and took it away from him.
Walter was KIND OF that guy in Season 2. It’s a shame he got killed by Carver so soon after his debut. He seemed like a cool guy and I would have liked to see his and Kenny’s friendship explored even further.
@@severinhedge3893no he kills himself after he leaves them at wellington in a deleted scene the only way he can survive is if you leave him after he kills Jane
6:50 the way Kenny didn't give two shits about Lee having literally killed a man, he trusts him with his one and only boy, the best friendship here is crazy
Kenny even had a good judgment of people too. Not to mention his discernment involving the St. John’s. Even before Lee. At least by one second. While even though it was Lee who learned about the St. John’s being cannibals, it was Kenny who first suspected they were hiding something.
@@furious3383 - That was a very interesting part about Kenny's character, though not perhaps the most tactful or socially graceful person in the world, he was very perceptive. He read people pretty damn good! He listened to what they had to say, but he made his decision about them based on what they did. A person's tell the truth about who they really are. Kenny, I say, embodied a lot of the old-school masculinity that was present in the WW2 generation, as in he was extremely hard working and resilient, and though he could definitely be a kind and selfless man, he was not one to play be passive-agressive, he preferred to be direct, you knew where you stood with him, which I think is a good thing, I think it's better to seem harsh than play mind-games with people.
They should've kept kenny alive imagine if kenny was in season 4 we would've gotten the definitive final showdown between him and Lilly and potentially him reconciling with her for his past sin's against her or that he's the one to put Lilly in the ground instead of AJ.
@@sirrayveltal8610 it took a bit to charge up his mustache. And he couldn’t just find them because the massive release of power created a split reality where they didn’t exist. On the plus side there are a lot of boats there though. He’ll show up when they need him.
Kenny used his magical mustache powers to force himself through the herd. He then proceeded to use the powers of the stache to fly himself out of savannah.
If I'm honest, I would be most like him more than anyone else in the game. I'm prone to depression and a "giving up" mindset when the going in life gets tough, and stumbling on alcohol in that condition has obvious results. I don't like this about myself, but it is what it is. Gotta give Nick credit though, with enough coaxing from Clem, he managed to protect her and successfully fight off walkers wasted out of his gourd.
I prefer this ending, while yeah, it isnt a good ending, but at least he isnt killed in a bad way. my headcanon is that kenny finds another group and doesnt die or dies in a better way then that car crash.
I can't bear to leave him so I suffer through the bad ending but yeah..Such bullshit the way they killed him off. I wanted him to come back In S4 and see how much Clem has grown 😭
I had also chosen to keep him for as long as possible even if it meant him being involved in the accident. It wasn’t the car accident that killed Ken. He was paralyzed and unable to escape along with Clem and AJ that resulted in him being devoured by the Walkers.
I DIDDNT EVEN CLICK IT YET BUT I ALREADY KNEW WHAT IT WAS LMAOO you are so right, i think about that quote 24/7 whenever someones talking out their ass loll
Always hated Jane, she was poking the bear in the whole car ride, and she even admits it if you put down Kenny, he was right to be completely out of his mind furious about what supposedly happened with AJ, any reasonable person would put their life down to save AJ, and she faked leaving him to die, and it’s almost like Telltale was telling you, you made the wrong decision killing Kenny.
It would've been a way better and way more morally gray moment of it was Kenny v.s. Luke instead of Kenny v.s. Jane. And Luke obviously wouldn't pull some stupid stunt like Jane and Luke is an actually good person who would make the choice much more difficult. I believe this was the original plan but was cut because they didn't want luke to make it too far for some reason.
@@deadlyknights1119 very pretty and immature devs then. Imagine making your games story worse just because some random on the Internet is spamming you to keep a character alive
Same. She was doubtful, selfish, trust issues, manipulative, liar, she left her own sister to die, she wanted to let Sarah die depending on what you choose, she wanted AJ to die, and she wanted Kenny to die and manipulate Clementine into thinking Kenny went apeshit just to prove a point then she'd just leave both AJ and Clem alone. I chose to be with Kenny till the end so i let him kill Jane.
Honestly as I grew up more and more, I was 11 when this game came out and it's one of the few that stuck with me, growing up I started seeing where Kenny was coming from in terms of his attitude, personality and his choices along with his reasoning and began to relate more and more to him in the past 10 years and he's one of the characters I sympathize the most with and he's one of my favorite characters to this date. Obviously I never experienced everything he did irl but he's one of the most relatable characters I ever met in a game.
@@Lilniggatwekeken His attitude and his views on how things work. His dedication to his family, and what he'd do to protect them. How he reacts after losing them. His plan and how he didn't give up on it in the first game. Sure we're not in any sort of apocalypse but his decisions and views are similar to mine in a way. It's a bit difficult for me to explain really.
Kenny was another Great. Along with Lee and Clementine. He too was equally resourceful and well to do. Despite his own personal tragedies and losses that involved everyone that he loved dearly except Clementine he still pushed forward to keep others safe. Especially the latter. Not to mention having lost his eye from his beating from Carver.
Kenny lost his wife his child presumably any relatives he had was thrown into a world where humans can be worse then the dead got shot at the St. John’s lost his best friend in savannah then months later he loses his eye and his second wife Kenny’s not a superhero with plot armor he is just a man who is built out of sheer will
Kenny's a real one. Even if he's flawed he means well. You can't cut someone and tell them how to bleed. You get your eye beat in, lose everyone you love and have someone use a defenseless baby as Bait and let me know how sane you are afterwards.
Kenny's dialogue before Ben's death in Episode 5: Do you have any bullets left? This has only got one left in it. ( If Lee wasted all bullets) I'm out. Shit. Get the fuck out of here. What?! Go back. She needs you Lee. KENNY! THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION .
( If Lee saved one bullet ) Just one. Fuck that's not enough. What? We gotta do something. You're not doing shit. You are going after Clem. KENNY! THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION .
( If Lee saved more than one bullet ) Just a few. Give them to me. What are you gonna do? Give them to me and get the hell out of here! I'm not leaving you. GO!
Lost his wife, lost his son, lost his new girlfriend, lost all hope, and but couldn't afford to lose AJ nor Clementine. Kenny is the goat along with Lee. 😢🐐 also i hate the way he died in Season 3 but it's whatever.
@@piginhumanform28 Kenny was also the man who put the life of the person who caused his wife's and son's deaths before his own, the man who took a serious beating for someone else, the man who above everything else just wanted to keep people he cared about safe Several kids? He only beat up Arvo, not even a kid (and a guy who caused deaths of 1-2 members of their group) Aside from "urban" scene I don't remember any other moments when Kenny was racist, and he apologised for it Mentally ill? Your sources? I do agree that he had anger issues, but that doesnt make everything good he did worthless
@@MlecznyHuxel9999 Never said he didn't do good things but he had some horrible anger issues, even pushed Clementine at one point. He was also racist towards Arvo lmao (Who was definitely a kid btw)
@@piginhumanform28 He only pushed Clementine because he didn't realise it was her. Chuck once said that there were no children or adults, just survivors. Arvo wasn't some kind of a small baby, but a guy who threatened Kenny and his group. Not saying that every single thing Kenny did was right, but I believe it doesn't compare to the amount of good deeds he did at all
Well i hate the final season because clem talking just Lee like there's no men to look after her. İn my playthourgh clem with Lee about 6 months, with christa 2 years,And kenny 2 years 3 month. When James asked "there's someone turned into Walker" just saying Lee but he doesn't turn i think they can made more kenny Lines about it after he looked clem for 2 years he deserves it.
You know I never thought about that. Clem only ever talks about lee. But not Kenny. I presume she doesn't talk about christa like a mom because she becomes cold and distant after omid dies and has a miscarriage. But if you choose to stay with Kenny, she stays with him for at least 2 years and he basically lives to be a father so he probably really loves her. But she never really talks about him as much as she talks about lee who she only knew for around 4 months.
The bond Clem developed with Lee was very strong, even in those few months. Lee cannot be replaced nor matched as the undisputed post-apocalyptic father figure to Clem, even after his death, because the way he died, devoting the last of his time on the earth saving her and teaching her how to survive even to the very end undoutedly left a huge impression on her. Kenny is more like the uncle that stepped up when they reunited. That being said, I agree that Kenny doesn't get the credit he deserves in seasons 3 and 4, because he was treated as a tangential character that could be killed off early, and so not a lot of time and attention was given to writing him into the story in significant ways for people who chose to go with him at the end of season 2. It's a damn shame!
hopefully if they ever revive the game and make a season 5, his death was just a dream she had in the car, making s3 and 4 just a dream. they would never do that, but one can hope lmao
I find it funny that for a moment, some people thought half of season 1 and all of season 2 were just one long dream Clem had after she woke up in the RV after she got shot by Arvo.
A man who will do anything to protect everyone he sees as his family (Clem, Duck, Katjaa, AJ etc.) and sacrifice the ones outside that zone for his folk. Easily the best character in the entire game. Because he is so realistic and surely is an inspirational figure. The older I get, the better I understand his actions. I first played Season 2 when I was 13 and I thought his actions were too selfish and aggressive. In fact, I chose Jane over him at that time. But now, as a 19 year old, I would do mostly as he did.
Seeing Kenny again in Season 2 when it released was one of the best feelings at the time for me, especially as a friend/father figure, i'm so glad tell tale gave us the option to hug him. Just wish we had more time with him or having kenny become the next Lee
If I get mad at Kenny after Kenny kills Jane, I hit the road with Aj alone, maybe Kenny will go to Wellington on him own and they'll let him in. What do u think about this idea ?
I actually hate that when you dont save Duck at the farm, Kenny won't help you find Clem, it kind of ruins his character in the first season, it's absolutly irredeemable.
In my playthrough, I tried saving Shawn instead of Duck, tried saving Larry instead of helping Kenny kill him, and got him to shoot Duck. Even then, when it came time to look for Clem, I was able to get him to come with me. Kenny will say something like "you haven't always been there for me", but as long as you talk to him instead of get violent with him during those choices, and you appeal to his sense of family by saying Clem is all you have, he will come with you.
I told Kenny that we need to come up with a plan B after seeing how bad the docks were. I have a let’s play episode of it here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rlF_XRK9Tp0.html
Ive sided with Kenny till the end of season 2 then when i found out he dies if you leave and dont stay in the fort, I purposely stay to make sure hes at least safe (Thankfully the cut content of him drowning in the river while singing isnt canon since its cut)
I did a playthrough of the seasons, and took clips from that to make this compilation best of. I didn’t have that part happen in my playthrough. I agree it would’ve been nice to have it included, but the video is already over an hour long. I think that’ll suffice lol
@@DTownNash interesting. I wonder what the origins of that word mean when talking about Black people. I wonder if there was a stereotype about Black people and urban communities.
Now that I think of it he reminds me of vegeta😁. Biggest effin asshole in the world. Also a man child. Kind of a mystery why katjaa married ken and all. So crazy and stupid like the hillbilly he is sometimes. But deep down he’s got a big heart. Somewhat loyal depending on the player’s choices. Shame we’ll never see him again😞.
