BEST OF LUCHA UNDERGROUND SEASON 3 - these are my reactions to these incredible moments. Patreon: / conman167real link to OG Video: • Lucha Underground Best... #wwe #wrestling #prowrestling
In case you were curious, the famous match between Kiilshot and Dante Fox was basically the LU version of a three stages of hell match. The first stage is first to bleed, second was no dq, and the final stage was ambulance match.
Lucha Underground was absolutely one of the best wrestling shows I've ever watched! The matches was insanely awesome!! I really wish they would bring the show back
Season 3 really was the season of the tribes. We had the beginning of the Rabbit Tribe aka Karrion Kross' group, the lizard tribe, and my favorite the moth tribe. Paul London was such a great part of Lucha Underground. I adore that man. So underrated in my opinion. It is so funny because I believe at the time they were doing a program with the ring announcer being romantically involved with Fenix but the ring announcer was actually with Cage in real life. Marty had a weird obsession with the announcer. Marty had a weird obsession with Sexy Star in the first season that involved him kidnapping her and keeping her hostage for the season break of season 1 and season 2. It is crazy after so much time I STILL remember the lore and storylines. I was so into it you have no idea. It is an easy promotion to get into!
Nah, Bron was obviously studying his uncle Scott Steiner and the same goes for Brian Cage. The fallaway moonsault slam is one of Scott's signature moves and the Drill Claw is Scott's old finisher the Steiner Screwdriver.
A friend and I made it to one of the early S4 tapings. The new Temple was a similar industrial warehouse near the original in Boyle Heights. It was a bit disappointing as most of what we saw was enhancement matches to get the debuting Jake Hagar over. Several of the big Lucha Underground names had left by that point. A few notes on the presentation: -The logo and stains on the mat were added digitally in post. It looked like any other fed's mat. -Wrestlers entered with no music at it was also added in post. This made for somewhat flat entrances. -An unintroduced mariachi rock band played on the balcony a few times to segue in and out of commercial breaks. -There were extremely few interviews or promos to provide context to storylines. -A few actresses from GLOW, then later Vanilla Ice showed up for a few minutes to be "celebs in the crowd." While there were some fun moments, the lack of big matches and any context made for an odd experience. We're used to stuff like Pro Wrestling Guerilla which was a whole different level of excitement.
Have you heard that LUCHA BROS have signed a multi year contract in WWE? I hope they elevate the tag division and be allowed to do what they did in Lucha underground.
* The guy in the green is Dragon Azteca jr, now better known as Rey Horus * Mil Muertes is El Mesias and Ricky Banderas * Drago is now Dios Del Inframundo * Marty the Moth was known for WWE Tough Enough as Martin Casaus and now wrestles again under that name * Pindar is Steve Pain * Dezmond X is now Wes Lee * Checkers Guy was known as El Bunny and now known as Mascarita Sagrada * Reklusa is Chelsea Green * Vibora is Luchasaurus * Mariposa is Cheerleader Melissa * Captain de la Cruz is B-Boy * Garza jr. is now Angel * Doku is Kairi Sane * Hitokiri is Iyo Sky * Yurei is May Iwatani
Yeah Paul London, Killer Kross (as thr White Rabbit) and the checkered bodysuit guy were the rabbit tribe, Kobra Moon, Vibora (Luchasaurus/Killshot), Drago, and the other reptile looking guy were the reptile tribe and Marty "The Moth" Martinez and Mariposa, (and I think a third member, I could be wrong) were the moth tribe
BEST WRESTLING SHOW EVER...but only watching the matches as great as they are you miss out on the best aspect of the show IMO which is the stories and the amazing cinematics which while others have tried to replicate in some ways no one has ever come close to LU both in writing and cinematics , the way they weaved stories into other stories and built and built was amazing with such lore and depth to characters that that blow any other wrestling show outta the water before or after and Skip Chaisson is to thank for that (as far as the cinematics go) and he is Robert Rodriguezs right hand man and also here is a great tid bit for you the Pentagon everyone knows and loves was created by him...he was the guy that had the idea to give pentagon the bone face paint etc because Penta wore his mask prior to LU with none of that he was just a guy in a mask.
7:25 Ok, so... Because of a really stupid plot that went nowhere fast, LU borrowed a few people from Stardom for a night. They are Mayu Iwatani, Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane. I don't remember their names in LU, and frankly, neither did anyone else.
Also also, Dante Fox vs Killshot (The big one) was called The Hell of War. It was a best of three with each match being more brutal than the last. Almost immediately after which they were paired with Mack for a trios title match.
