Ohio has produced tons of hall of fame athletes, coaches and execs over the years. Jack Nicklaus, Roger Staubach, Mike Schmidt, etc are all from Ohio. it's also the most unique of the "Football States" since the NFL was founded in Canton, the NFL Game Balls are made in Ada Ohio, etc. Ohio is also the birthplace of two men who helped integrate Football and Baseball. Paul Brown helped integrate pro football and Ohio State football. Branch Rickey who brought Jackie Robinson to the Dodgers was from Ohio. Larry Doby, the first African American in the American League made his debut with The Cleveland Indians. Ohio is quite the historical state.
