I love seeing these at the festival of speed. You see multi-million dollar race cars from decades past, passionate italian icons, german engineering, hypercars of all kinds, anything your heart desires on a lovely day in England. Then here we come, loud, colorful, brash, and crude. It's so stereotypically American that I can't help but smile.
I love lots of types of engines, but it's safe to say my favorite type of v8 are the ones in these cup cars. They're the unapologetic hammer amongst the screaming v10s, smooth v12s and shouty 6 cylinders. They're ratty, raw and brute force power is their calling card.
@@izzdin6228 that is a spot on description. Remember when I was 7 years old and heard one live. Been a nascar fan ever since. Overall love all racing. But the cup cars V8 is my favorite sounding V8.
If you’re a racing enthusiast it should be on your bucket list to see a NASCAR race. I went in ‘17 to Homestead. My god was blown away. These scream out of the pit lane like I’ve never heard anything. And the first few laps on restarts when the pack is together it sounds insane.
@@xSupra not really, you get to see most of the track and cars. I’ve been to an F1 race too, I only got a small piece of track to see. Honestly depends on the circuit. Also saw IMSA at Daytona that was great, tons of different viewing areas from infield and stands. A lot less people and lot more garage access and all that.
Considering these cars are over 3,000 pounds and have very little downforce or grip, they make their way around a road course pretty damn fast, almost purely based on horsepower. I once saw someone say they could just stretch it out to 990 at max, but in cup cars max out at 900-950 range
@@JohnDoweMah Oh I love NASCAR cup series cars on the road courses. It's the true test of a driver's skill, and some of the best finishes to races have been on the road courses.
Just so you're all aware... The number 88 Nationwide Camaro was NOT a Dale Earnhardt Jr. car. That car was an Xfinity Series car, most likely a 2013-2015 Camaro. The rest of the cars, except for the Elvis and Winston cars, were all real cars, raced in the exact scheme that are on them. Except for the number 3 Monte Carlo with the orange number on the top. That car is a short track or road course car, wrapped in Dale Sr's last winning paint scheme.
No the Gen 4 black Goodwrench #3 is as real as it gets. It came from Richard Childress' museum in North Carolina all the way to the U.K for Goodwood and Kerry Earnhardt drove it. It's Dale Sr's Atlanta race winner from the year 2000
@3:03 doing U turns, remember Cup cars have locked differentials, so they're not (just) trying to show off, they literally must do a burn-out just to make that turn. It's also why the Cup cars barely make it out of the tiny paddocks.

@@THESLlCK What I meant was the manufacturer putting a modern NASCAR engine into a special edition car and selling it at a ridiculous price with limited production run. Just like the AMG ONE did with an F1 engine.

These engines are just meant to be abused like this. Good ole V8. My favorite motor for any car. Got that happy middle ground of loud bad ass sound and for the most part bullet proof from years of being perfected.
@@vetteman06 Nascar is dying faster and faster by the day and it's not because they don't protect the cars or the drivers lmao because its history is being buried by all the other racing series that aren't afraid to put their vintage cars out on a track and showcase their history to millions. There's vintage Ferraris out here being driven hard and they are way more valuable than vintage stock cars, there is no excuse lol.
Because at this point they're one of a kind and super valuable. They should be preserved, they've been beaten on long enough. Besides, it's getting hard to find parts and replacement parts for the older cars anyway if they do break.
I love all these new and old and NASCAR race cars on this track and I love classic NASCAR race cars I just don’t know the years of them but it’s really cool!
When he first hit the gas is was black smoke from fuel because they dump a ton when you just floor it from idle. You could see almost all of the smoking oil out exhaust because likely they are all old engines and do a lot of burnouts and slow rolling like this. Those engines hate going slow
I feel Nascar Gets a Bad Rep among Worldwide Motorsport fans Take away the fact we race Primarily on Ovals (I say primarily because this year we raced on multiple road courses and even had one race in the complete monsoon rain) There’s nothing about nascar that makes it any less entertaining as international Motorsports Our Fans are just as dedicated our racing is just as competitive our support series is just as if not more effective plus the sport is evolving to the point where are cars are just as technologically advanced as others. But I offer those who don’t watch for whatever reason to watch in 2021 and 2022 because of how different the sport will be from the norm We’ll be racing on 7 road courses one dirt track and one brand new trioval and that just on the cup side we’ll also introduce multiple new teams and we got a brand new car coming in 2022 so nows the time to get hip to nascar
Yeah nascar really stopped evolving for a while during the 2010 decade, thanks to Brian France. But under new leadership these last couple years NASCAR has become a lot more forward moving and progressive while also maintaining its roots.

The top Cup cars actually run fuel injection these days, with the lower series running carbs. Anything before the Car of Tomorrow and Gen 6 cars is still carbureted though.

That’s cus nascars stopped being stock a long time ago. They’re basically made to “look” like their manufacturer counterparts even tho they don’t. The new gen 7 cars look more stock tho compared to the recent renditions. So big ups to nascar for that.
