That’s when it was fun being a Giants fan. Yes, we didn’t win a lot of games and yes when Odell was here we only seen one playoff appearance but at the same time he was super fun to watch and he was a top 5 receiver when he was with us. I really miss Odell and happy he got a ring.
The people that say he “made his career” off of one catch make me so mad. The first 3 years of his career is legitimately some of the best receiver play the league will ever see. Not only was there not much to knock in terms of his game, but his athleticism, route running, release package, deep ball tracking and hands were all like top 3 in the league from 2014-16. Unfortunate injuries and him rightfully wanting the ball somehow made most people forget how incredible he was.
@@grantlang1187 Yes, and? The team still won without him. It's not "best performance," it is "most valuable" and value is relative. If the team does not need him, he is not their most valuable player. He was not even their best WR, and BTW, when a WR on a championship caliber team has a standout game, it is very often due to coming free because the other team focuses so much its attention on stopping a more capable teammate. For the NY Giants, unheralded receivers made the biggest catches in their Super Bowl wins against the Patriots, because NE's defense focused on (and was characteristically successful) shutting down or containing Plexico Burress, Amani Toomer, Victor Cruz & Hakeem Nicks. Coming into the Super Bowl the talk of the Rams offense was all on Cooper Kupp, whose big catches on the final drive got LA past Tampa & Brady. OBJ probably benefited from a scheme designed to contain Kupp, because OBJ's performance the last few years made them complacent about his talent.
bro Odell is INSANE not one other receiver in the NFL can make the grabs he made on a consistent basis, best hands the NFL has ever seen in history not an opinion that's a fact, debate me
@@Nic-eu3dj I feel you, I really do. Odell top 5 receivers rn, but DHop has been consistent his whole career not just one season. He proves he has the best hands every season
In 2016 when the Giants made the playoffs I remember his 60+ yard touchdown against the cowboys that got the giants in the playoffs. I remember chanting "BECKHAM BECKHAM" really loud and filling with joy because my favorite team was going back to the playoffs. Then we got routed by the Packers in the wildcard round when I was in jail and it broke my heart. Thought it was going to be another 2011 breeze through the playoffs but it wasn't. Really fond memories.
He broke just about every receiving record the first 4 years in the league. As a Giant fan, I love my team, but I was more excited to see him play than anything else. He was everything you wanted in a #1 receiver minus the sideline stuff. Best hands I’ve ever seen. Blazing speed, and vertical jump like a basketball player. Give credit to Eli as he had something to do with the birth of Odell Beckham JR. RESPECT #13
man giants odell one of the best players i’ve ever witnessed play the game. his hands and moves were really on a whole nother level. damn shame if he kept it up like this he could’ve been the best receiver of all time....
Young Odell was really something else. I feel very privileged to have been able to watch so many of these moments live. Such a shame injuries robbed him of his prime
The best hands in the nfl. That yac is off the charts. If he can stay healthy, he can still put up big numbers. He's still young. Hurry up get back on the field. 🏉👋🏾🖐🏾.
The catches just not looking at any context are incredible.. But when you take the time to look at the scores and the clock when he's making these plays, then you understand how truly remarkable each one is. Legend.
Ahhhh da good ole days 🙏🏼. To date I think Eli is probably da best QB OBJ has ever played wit. More usage n bigger plays, ahh really good times in his BIG BLUE days 💙❤️💙❤️💪🏼💪🏼💯💯
100%. I think Odell realized later in his career how good he had it with Manning, and of course the reciprocal. Manning understood that a WR that talented has to be thrown the ball constantly, even if he's covered. He understood that great players like Beckham make plays, he doesn't always need to be open, just get the ball there and watch him make something happen.
His first 2 years might be the best receiver the league has ever seen. Shout out to the one season Josh Gordon was the best WR in football with Brian Hoyer and company throwing him the rock.
His run after the catch ability has gone down like 9 points since 2017 unfortunately :( still athletic, great route running, and hands, but he’s just not juking people like he used too
This is exactly why the dude is being courted right now. Watch alot of football but he might be my fav wr of all time now. Forgot how beast mode he was. Hes like reggie bush dom in college but doing this to the best of the world.
For all that said he only made one catch... I still to this day have never seen a receiver do what OD did on the field. From the hands to the YAC. And how he eludes defenders. Not to mention he had 3 punt return TDS called back his rookie year. Transcendent player. Honestly a sad story we only got to see about 3 seasons of him reaching his potential.
Dude is hands down one of the most talented if not the most talented receiver to ever play the game!!! Shame his career’s been in the dumps since he’s left the giants, wouldn’t mind seeing him back tho
Not really bro won a Super Bowl and had the opportunity to win another one last year. Unless you mean individually and still wouldn’t even say that injuries killed him
He was so good hope he can get back to form. Was lookin firm last year. Will never forget the catch. Def hof talent but dont k ow with the stay in Cleveland. He like if AB and cheetah had a baby with calvin catch ability.
Best receiver ever in the nfl hands down. Tell me a receiver that played like Odell…. No one compares to how explosive he is with the catching ability. Throw it somewhere he grabbin dat shit.
Put Tyreek Speed, Davante Adams Route Running, DHops Hands and Antonio Browns YAC ability in one player and you get the best version of Odell Beckham Jr. If he never gets injured and has a 15 year career he’s in the GOAT discussion. Tape don’t lie 🤷🏽♂️
The catch he makes at 8:15 I made in 7th grade. I can go out in front of my house and make all these catches with my nerf brain ball. Backyard pickup game- My hand flat on the ground -"throw it" the ball lands on the hand spins and doesn't touch the ground - TD.
