I'll say this. Watching Dark Phoenix take a game is depressing. But watching two Dark Phoenixes go at it is like watching two super saiyains go at it in real life.

I love all the rage Phoenix attracts. If she got 5 bars, that's on you. She isn't Doom/Vergil/Zero/Dante who can kill your entire team without all that meter. She dies to a stiff breeze.
+Ke Fa I know I'm damning myself to eternal roast hell by replying but: First, Phoenix is not a shit character without five bars, especially on anchor with XF3. She hard to deal with even without Dark Phoenix to worry about. Secondly, every Phoenix team has a good battery that is not just gonna get hit and allow you to snap Phoenix in. Even Chun is a character that can be annoying to catch. And hitting Dark Harmonizer assist on teams with it can be tricky too. 3rd, the characters you mentioned with the exception of Zero definetely need resources to blow through your team. Doom can kill most without but he struggles a lot more in neutral with no meter for Finger Lazers. Dante and Vergil definitely need meter to give you hell with Devil Trigger, and Spiral Swords for Vergil.
Nah, it's good to have actual discussions on here rather than slap fights. But when you see a Phoenix on the enemy team, it is a Phoenix team. The game switches to that. You can force her in and kill her with a basic combo. You can use the side TAC to drain their meter. Or you can simply murder the hell out of their first two characters before she gets 5 bars. If she comes in with 5 bars, that's not Phoenix being broken, that's your opponent outplaying you.
+Ke Fa I agree with the idea that your opponent has to significantly outplay you, especially due to the fact they are forgoing a neutral assist most of the time for Dark Harmonizer, and Phoenix who does not have great neutral assists. However it is very difficult to not let the game slip away as the point character on a Phoenix team is usually a very slippery character with good zoning even on their own e.g Joe and Magneto. Your team has to be able to pin them down or you won't get very far. However I do agree it does take a certain amount of skill to play a Phoenix team.
wow this is legit the first phoenix debate ive seen that has two reasonable people on each side! But I'm on Ke's side here. Phoenix is NOT on the broken tier levels of Zero and Vergil. Vergil is basically a free Dark Phoenix and can steam through entire teams as a single anchor with 1 meter. Jean is outclassed as an anchor. The only advantage she has is that she's more mobile and squirmy than Vergil upon snapback, but Vergil anchor got dat health and may need XF to finish him off upon snapback
I don't get it, Guy has the best chun in the business, best phoenix there is (sorry fchamp) and competes for best morrigan with chris G.. he has no "real" neutral assist, does not even use dark phoenix for majority of the games and yet people still hate on him. He puts in work with all members of his team, more so chun and morrigan than phoenix, so what if he takes some time to build up some meter for his back up plan (phoenix) at the start, chance are he won't need her anyways.
I'm a chun main and used a similar team to this at the start of ultimate (chun,FW, Pheonix) using frank's assists to build meter (or shopping cart against certain opponents) for phoenix and chun's long combos to TAC to level frank. I could never play to RyanLVs calibur though. The guy is too smart. His chun is a beauty..it reminds me of the first time I saw Brian Kasugano play!

I love Ryan's team so much.. Morrigan Chun Li Jean Grey That's like the ultimate waifu team.. He would be even more sick if he used Jill or C Viper but yeah 😂😂
The one thing I like about Ryan’s team is that he doesn’t just spam fire balls all the time and does interesting infinite’s with mid to low high tier characters.
Yes he has a great shell of morrigan and phoenix but hes nasty with all three of them (especially chun). The guy doesnt give a damn about dark phoenix and constantly spends bar on a super as phoenix where other players would be too afraid to give it up. Has the execution to play chun and always goes for the infinites and rarely drops them
+Gray Shuma So Chun-Li on point excuses the fact this is the standard Battery/Morrigan/Phoenix team? Where you see a hype Chun I see a standard team that Fchamp has played, that Dieminion played, even Paradigm has played this team. Chun holds little stake in this team. All she has to do is jump around and get meter. The only redeeming factor of RyanLV is that he's not a complete coward with Phoenix that runs away (lookin at you Champ) whenever she is out. It's whatever though. More power to you if you like Ryan I guess.
Go ahead and list 3 other pros that use Morrigan 2nd. I'll wait. If you can't name even 1 other pro, then your argument is completely invalid. None of the people you listed played those teams seriously, or got anywhere near as far as Ryan has. You're just butthurt because you couldn't make it around Morrigan or Phoenix on your best day.

Eq_NightGlider_ i have his goal is to stay in the air and use morrigan assist until he gets 5 bars then goes in to attack. uses 3 bars and repeats the whole damn thing again. he is super lame in his playstlye and it works which is even more sad. by the time he does this the time is almost up, I watch every single match and all tournaments with marvel. clearly you must be a fan to not see his lame and cowardice playstyle.
Suigintou101 I never said he wasn't lame, I'm just saying that's not the only thing he does. He often just goes in super hard even bringing Phoenix in with 2 bars and just using point Phoenix for a while because why not. He does play lame a lot be he also goes in a lot and watching his Chun do work is fun, not to mention rush down Morrigan on occasion.
