Yeah, what IS that? I played ETS2 and loved the sound and performance of the Scania V8s. but didnt sound anything like these trucks. Especially this "clapping" or chattering noice. Is it because of the open pipes? (is that the same as straight piping on cars?)
usually, as in Europe, the drivers don't own their trucks, this paint job trucks are rather rare. It's usually the boss/company owner, in case he's a car guy, who customizes his personal flagship truck ...but of course, many of these trucks then are in service. like 6:28 I've got the impression, that these owner/operator trucks are much more common in the US vs. in the EU. Actually, thus I'd expect many more customized trucks in the US.
The Dutch, the Greeks, Polish. Belgian truckers that own their truck o they own a company tend to go crazy with their trucks. If you look for Sarantos. greek driver, his Scania has over 1000p. And yes, they use them for work
Are to top/vertical pipes doing anything? Seeing most of the exhaust gasses being exhausted by the lower exhausts. Exhausting. None of them having screaming turbos either :( Was following a chap up a long hill and you could only really hear his turbo wailing like a banshee. It was brilliant.
Any Europe boys that can explain why some of these pop and bang like crazy? The ones with a smooth rumble to them sound the best, the banging and popping is ridiculous.
if you havent found it yet, i believe its because of the diesel pump system. Old trucks have a normal dieselpump, where as the new trucks have something called a commonrail diesel injection, which means alot higher diesel pressure. But not sure :)
We love them all / old and new / these SCANIA V-8 engines are world,s best. You see several configurations all over the world. Like the Australians say / truckers carry and build the countries all over the world. 😊
