Usually with an adoption they take the baby out of the room (if the parents tell them too!) So i don't understand why they kept Carly in that room as long as they did!!

This gives me so many mixed emotions yes the baby should and is the priority but where were Caits advocates? Shes obviously is child herself in these clips and is already traumatized hurt and scared. Yes her and Ty got pregnant and that's on them but there was so much going on. 16 is too young to vote, get married, get a drivers licene with out a parent or even buy a beer but she was able to sign a contract giving up rights with out any guardian at litem on her side making sure she had options and was fully informed.

They're probably the two people in the TM franchise that I'm rooting for the most. They came from such chaos and so much struggle, I really want a happy life for them - especially Tyler. He never seems to catch a break (nor does Catelynn, for that matter). I wish the both of them the very best.

Literally everything that they have been through in the past 10 years, they have brought on themselves. They never should've had their replacement baby Nova so soon. They weren't ready for her. Then their marriage is clearly over yet they're trying to hold on to it and they add yet another child to the mix. It's not healthy to raise children in a household like theirs. Everyone knows they'll end up divorced.

@@mariamalone7135 I think because they came from broken homes they'll stay married so their kids don't have divorced parents/step parents even though it won't be an ideal environment with them fighting all the time. They'll also want to "prove the haters wrong" and stay together and continue to be, "real life" Cory and Topanga.

There's a 6 year time gap between when their first daughter Carly was born and their second daughter Novalee was born. You make it sound like they ran out and got pregnant right away.

Idk if you're on the TM subreddit but a lot of times when we end up discussing Cate and Ty, the conversation circles back to the thought that they did what they absolutely had to for Carly at the time. Now, ten years down the line and with all the money earned from the show, they question and doubt themselves tenfold over how they may have in the clip in this compilation. That is a unique situation very, very few people can say they have experienced. I really feel for them both, and can understand why Cate's mental health has gone through so many ups and downs. I just wish the best for them and Nova and Vaeda ❤ they really are much better parents than their own, and when you have no good example it can be hard to step up yourself and break the cycle! Sorry for the novel lol this was just a difficult comp to watch :(

I agree. In MANY cases adoption is the best decision... but I don’t think that it was what Caitlyn wanted. I don’t think they thought it through enough and you can tell that there is DEEP rooted damage because of that decision. Caitlyn looked like she emotionally shut down during the birth...

Carly is the luckiest little girl in the whole wide world. Instead of having no parents and being bounced from one foster home to another (like I was) or only one set of parents that love her, she has two! What more can a kid ask for! She has family members from her birth parents and her adoptive parents who simply adore her. ❤💙💚💛💜💖

People always hate on Caitlyn saying she needs to stop using this adoption as an excuse as *trauma* and get on with her life. That's horrible!! She gave up part of her!! If she knew she was gonna get rich off these show she probably would have kept Carly!! I have 3 kids, i couldn't imagine having to give 1 up!! Also anxiety and depression is real. So many heartbreaking moments. I can't imagine giving birth knowing you won't be able to keep the baby. Going through all of that to give her to someone else. It's just devastating 💔 Also, Tyler proposing and saying "I promise I'll never let you down." He is such a sweet guy and has tried so hard over the years throughout everything they've been through to be a rock for them. He's done an amazing job. So many emotional things they've been through!

That's the truth because when you don't know someone who is not or is your mother it doesn't matter and nobody is better than others, but again infants can't be that picky..but it's harder age three and up

I love that one and how the cast of teen mom og celebrated Gary's birthday.Catelynn,Maci,Cheyenne and Mackenzie are my favorite on Teen Mom OG.And i have to commend Catelynn for going to treatment to help her with anxiety and depression and at the same time being a good mom.And kudos to Tyler for sticking by Catelynn through thick and thin .I had an ex girlfriend who kinda had major anxiety just like Catelynn does and sometimes goes into episodes of depression and i try to understand and be patient with her eventhough we ain't together right now i always reassure her that I'll love her and care about her regardless and i still check up on her sometimes to see how's she doing

Unless you've been there through that the pain of watching someone else raise your child you'll NEVER understand how BAD it TRULY HURTS. It's like death in a way everytime you leave your baby, sometimes you can stay strong other times it's more than you can even handle. How they did that it's a TRUE GIFT OF LOVE, & I wish NO ONE would ever feel that pain. I'm so glad they kept these two on the show. @@mariamalone7135 Have you yourself ever been put in a situation like that? With an open adoption they still get to be apart of their child's life. They get to see their child grow up, & see how amazing their child truly is. When it's a closed case the child will NEVER stop wonderin why that parent gave them away, & that child will search and search for their biological parents. What if the baby had health problems that was passed down if they don't know their families medical history it could be more harmful. What these two did is a true act of love

I have been through it. I signed my rights for my son over to the woman that was fostering him. I was in such a deep depression and trapped in a cycle of addiction, I couldn't properly care for him. I knew he'd have a chance to be in a stable and loving environment and I still get to see him all the time. I've been able to turn my life around and he is still thriving but it's still very painful to not have him with me all the time. I know I made the right decision for him regardless of how I feel.

Out of all the "Best Of", this one is the hardest to watch. I am 27 amd there is no way I would have had the strength that Cate and Tyler had at 16 when giving up Carly. They did this for her. They were mature enough to step back and view her entire life as a whole and make one of the toughest decisions to ensure that she had a good future. 10 years later and they are still dealimg with the trauma (and probably will for forever) but they still insist that they would do it all over again for Carly

I genuinely feel they were young, and got played by two grown adults. Both of their parents were unstable and unable be there to make sure as birth parents they get what they wanted from the adoption.

Jackie Villarreal they did get played. But if you watch the 1st season, Tyler was the mastermind behind pushing for the adoption. Cait didn't want it but she listened to Tyler rather than herself. When she realized that she was a doormat that's when she started to resent herself and him and fell into depression. Their parents cursed them out for trying to give up carly. But Tyler is the controller

Brandon and Teresa (teresa esp) was the one that really changed everything. She over reacts about every little thing. They have respected you for all these years and this is what you give them? They handed over their flesh and blood! Their whole lives got flipped upside down because of this.

I'm sorry but Tyler at what, 16 /17 proposing....I remember back when I watched with everybody else, no man can top how sweet and romantic and loving that was. I got tears from carly's birth and that proposal...and then his wedding vows!!! I look over at my big galoot (my man luv him), and nope, never gonna hear words like that. I think Catelynn has always had a hard time. Pregnancy is so hard then Labor/Delivery is so vulnerable. It’s already hard enough. I can’t imagine giving up your child for adoption. Tyler has better coping skills, And I think Catelynn has never learned how to cope properly. I feel bad for Tyler but sometimes.

Ughh, I really hope they‘ll make it in the long run but I‘m not quite sure.. It seems to me that their biggest common denominator is their traumatic past.They are so used to being together that they don’t even know who they are as individuals (which is definitely a very tough situation).

Oh man, I can’t watch this birth scene without sobbing. This really gave me a great amount of respect for people who put their babies up for an adoption when they know they couldn’t give their child the life they deserve. Such a mature and honorable decision.
