Everytime I watch or rewatch these clips...same. The fact that he comes from dysfunction , and works so hard to not repeat it is stunning.

I think so too...I gave a baby up it's a open adoption but it's like a funeral almost when u hand them over but u know it's whats best I love her so much I think of.her everyday I thank God the family has kept their word an keep me in the loop it's jus a very hard thing to bond with the baby during pregnancy then not take them home I went into major depression I too was give nerve meds I do not recommend it I almost died when I stopped taking them it's a serious thing

he does has a equal support system now. Communication is way better, she supports him clearly and 2 episodes ago. She said, well if your business doesn't get back up because covid at least we have mine to fall back on. He was like ur right. You are better now she said yes I want to be there for you guys, make you feel safe, like u dont always need to rescue me. That sent me crying, she finally stood up for her love, life, self, and family.

They're toxic AF. And that adoption destroyed Catelynn's mental health. Having her meet an infertile couple when she's pregnant was extremely coercive & designed to make her feel obligated.

Giving up a child for adoption isn’t something people ever get over. I mean after all we have all heard that the worst thing for a parent is to lose their child, and an adoption is that, losing your child (missing out on those special moments, and all those other life moments). Not really sure why people still insist on others getting over adopting away a child.

I can say for myself I don't feel u ever "get over " having to go through an adoption experience good or bad as a bio mom . 😔 I feel she's handled the best she can 😊

Also they were supposed to have an open adoption and see Carly more. That adoption agency to me looked crooked. Carly knows she us being kept from her biological parents. Kids are smart and now at 13 in May she has 5 years til she can spend as much time with. Caitlyn and Tyler as she wants. Her adoptive parents dud not want an open adoption. I think as soon as Carly is 18 she will want to live with her bio parents and full blood siblings. One time they visited with Carly and her parents Carly was screaming and crying when Tyler drove off and they wanted to stop and comfort her, but weren’t allowed. Then one visit not long ago Carly said something like this us the hard part. What hard part? Saying goodbye and not knowing when she will see her bio family again. Just my thoughts, but again kids are smart. She gets a little older she may seek them behind her parents back. She just wants more time with Caitlyn, Tyler and her sisters. Concerns me for Carly’s mental health BWI g kept from your bio parents. Her adoptive parents live her, but seen very i trolling and everything has to be a certain way. Tyler and Caitlyn are more laid back.

Agree that’s why I don’t believe in adoption. They ruined their lives and caused so much pain for their selfish reasons. There are tons of children in foster that want to be adopted

I remember being 11 and watching it and I told myself “I will never give up my children up for adoption for anything” since then.

They may not be in the position they are now had they not given up Carly for adoption. It's the whole reason they were chosen to be on the show. They are incredibly brave and wise for doing what they did.

Their parents told them to keep the baby and not do the adoption but they decided to so it. I feel bad for Catelynn and Tyler.

@@beautyintheskies It almost feels like in way they gave up the baby to spite Butch and April. Tyler's mom was also pushing for adoption, and in turn Tyler pushed Cate, and Cate worships Tyler so much of course she wanted to follow him. Then I think she got a boost in self-esteem by doing something so selfless as to give up her baby to Brandon and Theresa, so she didn't back out. I know I would have because I don't care what other people think of me

@@Reesy2002 Yeah but Tyler said on one of the reunions that April and Butch took them to court to try to get custody of Carly but of course the judge denied their request. So their parents did try to stop it (unfortunately they was crappy parents tho). I never understood why Tylers mom Kim didn't help them more since she was more stable. But I remember she was the one to initially bring up adoption.

I though the same, he need support too, he needs a break of the all drama, all the time he is the one being strong For both, being a Dad, husband, he is/was studying, cathelyns problems, and his own problems

It’s not fair to put blame on Cate though. She can’t help having mental health problems / difficult pregnancies / postnatal depression. Partners lean on partners, that’s part & parcel of relationships / marriages. Unfortunately for them in some ways at least - they got together at a young age, faced huge life changing adult decisions at an age where they should’ve still been getting to know one another, & although they both grieved for their firstborn, they never really truly spoke about that grief as a unit / couple because they were too concerned about how the other felt - & how others around them felt. Everything just built up & imploded in their adult years. Add to that outside family members (parents, siblings etc) as well as everything else.. They’re two incredibly strong individuals as well as an incredibly strong couple. Of course they have their moments, & always will - they’re a normal couple! But the fact they took the sensible steps to get couple therapy, as well as Cate getting help herself, I think that strengthened them in ways they didn’t think it would. If teen mom is good for anything - it’s these two.

@@LauraBidingCitizen nobody is putting all the “blame” on Catlyn we are simply making the observation that Tyler just as cate has mental and emotional needs and trauma. Through out the course of the history of them being on the show Tyler has been the rock for the entire family even his fathers and it’s not fair for Tyler to go on and on like that. At the end of the day we all need help and it’s not fair for it to be all about just one person just cause he’s a man doesn’t mean he isn’t doing just as bad as cate on the inside.

I merely pointed out that it wasn’t Cate’s fault for suffering with mental health issues, which you were almost implying in your first post - whether intentionally or unintentionally - which may have put additional strain on the relationship & on Tyler. I never insinuated he wasn’t entitled to go fourth & get the correct support & help, quite the opposite in fact. I don’t put one persons mental health over another, they’re of equal importance.
