Hey Jeff. I had to modify it for the 12 string. Paul usually does it with that pick and strum with the index finger to get that jangly feel. I thought doing it with a straight travis picking (many inaccurately play it that way thinking it's how Paul plays it) really brings out the 12 string feel. Have you seen the video I did about Hotel California and several other songs that have been challenged as to their originality? HOTEL CALIFORNIA: RIP OFF OR ROCK CLASSIC ru-vid.com ch?v=f_gt76Ld6aI . Hey Bill. I'm thinking of doing another tips video that addresses 3 things. Best pick to use, how to keep in tune, and how to apply a capo and keep in tune. What do you think? I stretch and lock all of my strings when I restring (perhaps I'll do a restring video too) and I don't have a lot of tuning issues. You also need a good tuner. I use two. I do my fine tuning with a Peterson Strobe. I did a couple of docs early on in the channel. I am genuinely humbled by your comment and I really do appreciate the kind words so much. Last year at this time I had about 250 subs and I was averaging about 2 views a day on the channel. What a difference a year makes. My kids (I have a 10 year old son and a 10 year old step son) are wondering when I'm going to get my 100k subscriber button award from youtube. I told them it's going to take several years and a lot of luck if it ever happens. They have no idea how hard I had to work to get to 5000 and I know that for every YTber with 5000 there are a million with 50 so I don't take it lightly. @@8MinuteAxe, I watched the beginning of "Whipping Post." I think your cover of "Strawberry Fields" is much better. In my humble opinion, "Whipping Post" is an electric guitar song. While I appreciate hearing you play an acoustic version, I think the full band version of "Whipping Post" by The Allman Brothers Band stands on its own -- resisting all covers.

Here's one I did about all of the copyright issues that have come up over the past 10 years and the history leading up HOTEL CALIFORNIA: RIP OFF OR ROCK CLASSIC ru-vid.com ch?v=f_gt76Ld6aI I don't do a lot of busking. I do play a lot of coffee house and small bar gigs. They tend to pay well and I can set up and break down easily. One thing I'm not a fan of is the one man band. I don't do anything prerecorded. I've thought about adding some looping but I haven't incorporated it yet. I did buy a Harmonizer to make the choruses a little bigger but I only use it if I have a long three plus hour gig where I'm trying to mix up the sound a little. Of course, all of this is pre pandemic. Everything has been shut down for the past 9 months. It's a shame because just this year, I finally broke into the getting the plum gigs here in ATL during the summer (a lot of bars that back up on the river or lake). Anyway, hopefully, I'll be able to salvage at least part of this summer. Please stay in touch. -Mark

I listened to the Beatles in the late sixties my sister's collection ithen moved over to Bowie (my era )and eventually purchased a twelve in the early eightiesthe early folk stuff of space oddity,Hunky Dory I still occasionally play Amsterdam the Jacques brel cover to amazed friends ,I mostly stick to the Triad instead of the full strum picking out as many individual notes as possible .It's always great to hear other people playing who share the same passion and enjoyment knowing as we do is unachievable by the masses most of it being hard work and more practice,not forgetting practice.if I were to recommend a fav RU-vid covering Beatles it would be ..Troubleclef his take on the George Harrison numbers so complex real artistic.Still I shall come out fighting .

Hey Al. I've been looking for a quality electric 12 for a while. I think the best thing going for the money is a schetcher but they're hard to get and they're going used for more than they originally sold for. I'll probably end up with a Dano. I looked into the Harley Benton Rick knock off but that trapeze bridge is a real deterrent. I can't imagine what a nightmare restringing a trapeze 12 would be.
