"Wallace how do you do that?" Arguably my favorite few moments in the movie, because not only is he drunk he's also asleep so it makes no sense how he did that.
“presumably, you just saw some guy’s junk, and i apologize for that.” “right…” “and he apologizes too” “ _sorry_ “ this entire movie was such a fucking underrated masterpiece
Hope everyone doing good and staying safe. If you need to talk to someone or need help, there are people who care. Sending support and hearts. ❤️❤️❤️❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i was gonna say this before i saw this comment, basically tobey maguire with a longer face (i think i actually thought wallace was toby when i first watched this)
When I read the Comic, Wallace was my favorite character by a mile. I loved his role in the plot, his special relationship with Scott, every line out of him was gold, and he was simultaneously a really fun character and a level head in the story. The movie translated that almost perfectly. Although I wish they delved more into Scott and Wallace’s relationship, how they were always “more than friends, Less than lovers”
@@ghostypez a lot of it is subtextual, But it’s really cute. Scott isn’t gay, but you can tell that he did care about Wallace in some way. Wallace understood that Scott was straight and respected his boundaries, played support, and helped him out though, but also stuck around because there is a part of Wallace who just wants to wait on the sidelines in case Scott ever changes his mind. They slept in the same bed constantly and knew eachother since high school, when Scott moved out around issue 4 or 5, it’s framed like a break up too, with Scott literally walking in on Wallace with another man in his bed. Wallace got tired of loving Scott and decided to move on, It’s kind of a mirror to what Knives would do later, still caring about Scott but realizing that she can’t keep pining for him if he’s not going to reciprocate or go further. Also all the covers of the Scott pilgrim collectors books have an Ex girlfriend of Scott on the cover, and Issue 4 has Wallace on the cover.
@@noriyakigumble3011 that does sound really cute :). it's clear their dynamic is important to the both of them. thanks! i'll probably be checking out the comic properly soon.
I completely forgot that Anna Kendrick was in this movie. The casting was so good, all the characters were on point and made me laugh out loud numerous times, especially Wallace, probably one of the best characters in the movie
@@MetalPatrick93 I'm sorry to say this but I am missing your reference here compared to the Wallace & Gromit one, that doesn't mean it sucks, it just means I am most likely uncultured and wish to learn it
@@aniahliepardsuccession, it’s a tv show. Kieran Culkin, the guy who plays Wallace, plays Roman in it. It’s a really good show I’d recommend watching it.
Oh my god i can’t believe he was the actor in succession I should have recognised him !!!! He is so funny in all of his performances and he really steals the senes !
When I watched this movie I had just turned 18, I was dating a 22 year old, he was in a band, and I acted crazy during the gigs 😂. I was basically Knives. And of course we broke up and yeah, he ended up dating a girl with dyed hair LOL. Fun memories
“Okay, everything does suck…” *riiing-* “Or does it?” Maybe it’s less mentioned because it precedes the famous “window scene”, but I love how this part was timed and delivered.
Some of you might look at the actor playing Wallace and think: _"That guy looks kinda familiar. He kinda looks like.. Macaulay Culkin. Holy crap, IS that Macaulay Culkin? I mean I haven't seen him in forever. Maybe it is Macaulay Culkin?"_ Now you may have thought that, but sorry no; it is NOT Macaulay Culkin. ...it's his brother, Kieran Culkin.
