I purchased six of the most popular packing cube sets on the market, to try to determine which packing cube set is the best one out there. Some of them I tested for over a year, and some for a few months.
In my opinion, the best overall packing cube set is the eBags 6-piece packing cube set. It's not too cheap, but it isn't too expensive either. It's built from premium materials, features YKK zippers, and comes with a lifetime warranty. The only thing that I don't like about them is that the six-piece set comes with three weirdly-sized packing cubes that aren't too useful.
I picked the Shacke Pak 5-piece packing cube set as the best affordable packing cube set out there. It's cheap, durable enough, features SBS zippers, and the set comes with a laundry bag for dirty clothes.
As the best compression cube set, I picked the Eagle Creek Pack-It Specter 2-piece compression cube set. It's incredibly lightweight, weighing at just 100 grams or 4 oz, it's built from a durable, semi-water-resistant material, has YKK zippers, and comes with a lifetime warranty. What else can you ask for.
And As the best affordable compression cube set, I picked the LeanTravel 3-piece compression cube set. Out of all the cheaper sets, this one seemed to be the most durable and the easiest to use. One con is that the LeanTravel set is very heavy, weighing at 600 grams or 24 ounces.
