This video is a head to head on the best reviewed paint and varnish strippers sold on AMAZON.COM. 2 Minute Remover www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07... CITRISTRIP www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
Good video. I've been using Citristrip for a couple weeks now. To improve the results, coat it with the stripper, cover the area with saran wrap then let it set overnight. It will take off 3 layers of paint at once.
To enhance the CitruStrip's efficacy, you can cover or wrap your piece with plastic wrap, which keeps the stripper moist. It is more effective when it is kept moist for longer periods of time. Nice video, careful with those exposed toes!
Hi. Great video, thanks for the comparieon. I have read that after applying the striper, cover it up with plastic wrap and leave for several hours or overnight if you want to. This prevents the product from drying out and gives it max time to soak into the wood. I have not tried it yet, but I plan to this week. Thanks again for sharing.
No gloves, no respirator, no proper shoes, no proper ventilation, partially read directions & ignored them…..yup every man everywhere!,! Lol Thanks for the demo my friend. My daughter and I are looking to strip an old piece of her great grandmothers furniture. Looks like the citrus is the clear winner.
Lol. I only saw the first half of your message and saw the no gloves part and was getting pissed off. Lmao. Glad you enjoyed the video! Good luck with the furniture!
Thanks for the video. I especially liked the part @ 6:17 about the safety precautions. Especially if it could "eat through your skin" says the man stripping with open top sandals.
I use Citristrip for all of my projects. I am currently stripping mantles and built ins in my grandmother’s 100 year old house. If you put a thick coat of citistrip on the piece then cover with plastic it will get through lots of layers of paint. The trick is to not let it dry out. Once stripper dries it stops working. Also, don’t move the stripper around. Move it as little as possible when you are putting it on.
Great choice of content for your video. I’ve heard good stuff about citristrip and it was interesting to see your side by side comparison. 2 minute stripper my eye. Acid tends to burn when left in contact with the skin but a little soap & water will take care of it. Lol 👍
you're a king for doing this review. I need to remove 115 years of paint from mouldings in my house and none of the strippers I bought did anything until I tried citristrip. Thank you!
😝 you’re funny! Thank you for this info! I started doing my dining table because I hated the color it was black brown 😮 I started doing the legs and the citri stip is good but it’s so much work and it can get messy! 😊
Thank you! The two minute remover works fine for small areas. I also pressure washed the bench after using the citristrip to get it all cleaned up too.
Can you use on walls in the house my uncle painted a botched accent wall in my bedroom leaving excess paint from painters tape when doing chevron stripes.
Yeah it’s finish drywall has couple coats of paint on it but a family member used spray paint for art purposes .and now that room smells really bad and the smell is not as strong but is still there despite painting over any advice to get rid of the smell ?
@@sickeyeseee5647 , hahaha, you had a kid peeing on the wall, didn't you? I would use (if you can get it still) , an oil-based stain-covering primer, like Killz or Zinnser and then a quality paint. But if you have to strip it, I'd use Citri-Strip and of course the windows open and a fan.
What I ended up doing is just scraping the paint off lucky I found out that the wall had been had a lot of drywall mud on it so I didn’t mess it up to much the wall is only like 11 by 10 so it was not much work
Thanks for comparison! I actually used the 2 min today on a dresser and used a ton! I watched a bunch of RU-vid videos and am grabbing citristrip tomorrow! And love your Trump sticker! ❤️🇺🇸
A Big Thank You Tex...from the First State...yeah that's right....Traitor Joe's state. Now, I look forward to making my paint stripping projects Great Again...and before the mid-terms! God Bless!
I bought the stuff and will be using it tomorrow. Is there anything else in retrospect that you have learned from using it, that I should watch out for or maybe something i should do?
Quick strip does work. I’m not trying to downplay how well it works. But the paint on this particular bench was laid on thick so I was using like 3-4 coats of it. I would recommend quick strip for spray paint and quick jobs for sure.
@@texasgardenguy , the "2-Minute" is the worst I've ever used, I applied it and returned in about 5 minutes and it evaporated, doing nothing. So I tried again, same results. It might take a layer of latex off, and it may not stink bad, but it's pretty much worthless. I took it back and got a refund, getting Klean Strip, and it's better but costs more. I have a feeling that Citri-Strip is going to get very popular as people realize "the old stuff" is no longer any good.
