I followed your recommendation and bought the Rotatrim M24 (found a cheaper one on ebay in good condition 🙂) and I LOVE IT! I used so far a cutter from Dahle, but had issues with rough cut edges and my greeting cards never had the same size. But from now on I will not have to deal with these issues anymore, thank you so much for this video!
Good review :) ill look into this Got my Printer, envelopes, cello, mailers, photo paper for prints and card stock.. I'm now hunting for a rotary paper cutter haha Boy there's a lot to learn but your videos make it easier. I worked out how to print thicker paper on the epson p900 and it now takes 350gsm paper in the rear. What a relief.
@@EasySundayClub just a printer setting to allow thicker paper, was set to off. It's 350 gsm but because of how its made it think its slightly more compact so goes in. Using color copy 350gsm for matte greetings cards A2 to start and then pinnacle lustre 300gsm photo for a4 prints. More I get used to things the more sizes I'll add
Thanks for another informative and helpful video! I've been getting fed up with cutting my larger prints manually, and so excited to get this! I bought my art printer based on your printer review video also! PS the sound of the blade cutting paper is great ASMR lol
Thank you so much for this video! I have been resisting the urge to purchase a guillotine cutter exactly for the reason you stated yours did not work for you. And I have been wondering if there was another option for watercolor paper but have come up short…until this review from you! Again - thank you for sharing!
Thank you posting this video. This is very helpful as I am getting into printing large photos. Saw this cutter on B&H photo. Still around $300.00 US. It's now on my wish list. Peace!
Try to look for them used on craigslist and offer up. Check for accuracy. It ended up being a time saver because i can stack two prints or cards to cut because the blade is that sharp.
Do they made a guard that’s the length of the whole cutter? I’m wanting to cut 1.5” strips that are whole length of the cutter. Also, because my cuts are so long, is there a locking mechanism that holds the paper in place so it doesn’t move while cutting?
Hi Josh. The paper guard is small. Ill link a pic. For our long cuts we use the small guard that it comes with and can cut long cuts without moving. It doesnt shift like a guillotine paper cutter. You could get a long block of wood to create a guided edge but i do not think it is necessary. I just found your channel. Lovely watercolor! Commission work? Does this trimmer cut chipboard? I really need one that cuts chipboard with precision. Thanks for the video. Be safe. Blessings.
Thank you for the feedback! We dont do commissions anymore because of business duties. I have cut chipboard with the trimmer before but i would double check the max recommended thickness you can cut with the particular chipboard you have vs what the trimmer can take. It cuts with precision!
Hi. Just got the Rotatrim pro 24 mastercut II. According to the accompanying instructions it cuts only in one direction. Have u had any issues cutting both ways?
I just tried it again and it cuts both ways. Officially they say it only cuts one way and probably the best way to care for it. But for us it has worked both ways. Probably laziness on our part because i didnt want to reload to make a second cut. I hope u like the rotatrim!!!!
