Great list! Love to see my favourite Feed the Kraken, Skull and Klask. Never played those 2 drawing games (Catch Sketch and Duplik), usually we use Fake artist goes to NY and Pictionary. Strangely there are so many great drawing games, but we don't use them often. In our community Wavelength is completely replaced by Top Ten. The idea is the same, but the game is not team vs team, it is cooperative: each round all players give their clue based on the number card (from 1 to 10) they recieved. And then 1 player should sort all clues from lowest to highest. So the idea is the same, but I've noticed players are more involved to Top Ten rather then Wavelength. Although, it is not as fancy looking :) Some other recommendations: Ready, set, bet and Panic on Wall Street - a lot of fun in real time chaos. Detective Club - awesome hidden gem from Ukraine, which is a mix of Spyfall and Dixit type games. And it is always a blast to use once a year Don't get got or Two rooms and a boom.
Good choice for #1, and it's become a staple at our games club as the closing game of the evening. Super-chilled, and we don't even bother scoring, or restricting ourselves to the stated 13 cards - we simply play until we need to leave. One suggestion you might not have played, is by a UK designer Bez Shahriari, called Wee Whimsical Creatures (at least that's its shortened name): 4 or 5 cards are placed on the table, each a drawing of a weird imaginary creature. One person secretly chooses which is to be guessed (via numbered cards) and then 'makes the sound that creature might make'. The other players have to decide which it is, and via a simultaneous show of fingers, their guesses are revealed. As you might guess, the sounds can be very amusing, and it's a game that naturally attracts people to see what this weird game is. Definitely one where you have children (or adults) who enjoy making strange noises and aren't too shy.
Recently played Ready, Set, Bet at a holiday gathering and it was a hit. Also played a bunch of Take 5 (aka 6 Nimmt) at Christmas with friends and family, to good effect. Great list! Some games on there I hadn’t heard of and will check out - e.g. Herd Mentality.
You guys need to try Cockroach Poker, my absolute favorite bluffing game. You’ll never want to play Skull again. Also, this one might be contentious and take the right group, but Hellapagos is one of my all time favorites as well. There is player elimination, and it can be mean, but the stories it tells are unparalleled. I remember every time I’ve played. The expansion is mandatory in my opinion though, it adds variable player powers and more variety, without much more complexity.
@@dicknijmegen but it's so delicious when the card that would knock them out of the game, makes it around the table with no mention of that creature, but everyone whose hands it passed through, knew where it needed to finish.
All three games are great. Skull, hellpagos and cockroach poker. In cockroach poker there is only one loser. Nessos is a very similar game but instead only has one winner. Try it out!
My favorite party games at the moment are Codenames, Secret Hitler and Hollywood 1947, but I haven’t played any on your top 10 list, I’m excited to try them out :)
I wish there were more games that you can play in a bigger group of drunk people, I've been trying to think of something that isn't CAH 😭 herd mentality sounded good for that purpose though!
Have you tried any of these - Shit happens, The mind, Yogi, Drunk Stoned or Stupid, What do you meme? Dungeon Fighters would be amazing with drunk gamers :D
So Green Team Wins is basically a copy of Herd Mentality? Hmmm! Kites is fun and we are stoked to try out Ready Set Bet. Our kids like Monsdrawsity. But our fav is absolutely Tumblin’ Dice!
