Best Peak District Walks - Near Black Clough, Bleaklow and Torside

In this video I set out with my friend Simon on one of the best Peak District walks where we parked at Crowden car park and followed the Longdendale trail over to Bleaklow via Near Black Clough. We had planned to also check out Middle Black Clough but the river was too high to cross.
In total we walked just under 14 miles. Route map below:

'The dryer months if we do have any in this country.' That did make me laugh Anthony. Yeah it's been a bit wet but hey no rain today. All we got were some tricky paths to spot and one of your fave views, which was a good one I must admit. Well, enjoyed that. Have a great week ahead. Mark

Hi Mark. One thing we can’t control is the weather, that’s for sure 😆. I do like Bleaklow, although it can live up to its name in bad weather conditions. I was very fortunate to have such nice weather on this walk. It was a shame I couldn’t cross the river to check out the waterfall but it will be there for another day. Aha the Longdendale trail, we cycled this, mostly in the rain! Great to see what it looks like when its dry! We turned round at Woodhead Tunnel so its really nice to see what's beyond! Fantastic hike, we need to revisit and go by foot next time!😎👍

A walk up to Bleaklow is definitely worth a trip, albeit it can be a boggy navigational nightmare in bad weather 😆

Ha ha. You definitely have to learn to embrace the bogs on parts of Bleaklow, particularly if you go off piste! Could sink and get lost forever if you go after heavy rain 😆. Many thanks for watching. Really appreciate your support 👍

very nice looking hike and thumbs up for the woodhead tunnel footage, love to see water on videos and you two need to work on your finishing comments lol great scenery cheers nigel

Thanks Nigel. The woodhead tunnel was a nice find. Bit of a shame I couldn’t get over to the waterfall but I’ll go back at some point. Simon isn’t keen on having a speaking part, so I think I took him by surprise at the end. 😆

crash site of the Vickers Wellington Bomber not far away , but you need a compass or a drone ;) great walk and video !!!

Thanks very much. I’ve been to the Bleaklow crash site a couple of times. You definitely need a means of navigation, particularly in bad weather.
