its a fantastic phone so far! had it now almost 2 weeks and i love the battery life! its a good camera set up and the phone is perfect for media and gaming! also IR blaster, IP68 rating and 80w charging for that price is really good! pre-installed screen protector, case and charger ofc IN THE BOX where it belongs.
@@KANWALJEETSINGH-ci3pmheat is completely fine, I think they had an update. I don't play Genshin Impact for hours but so far it's never gotten uncomfortably warm
I don't care how incapable the under display selfie cam is, this is still the implementation I want. Really they could just remove the damned thing altogether from where I'm sitting...
Still waiting for the day for a flagship phone without any camera at all to come out. Replace all of that with battery and crazy thermal solution instead.
@@JuaniPodrido For most people, yes. That's the selling point. A phone that has everything. I don't need everything. I only need some of them. But as you said, it won't sell. Someone like me who doesn't need a camera will never have any other option. What I have instead now is an illusion of choice lol.
Same. Never used a selfie cam in my life, removing it altogether would be fine by me. That's what I love about my Oppo Reno 10 x Zoom, not only beautiful build quality & design for it's day but a full screen experience & selfie cam tucked away like it doesn't exist.
I had the phone for a month now and I'm very happy with it I have not encountered any bugs the software is simple yes, but it's also bloatfree and customisable
Got this phone about a month ago. It's basically a Redmagic 9 Pro with better cameras, but will overheat slightly after long gaming sessions due to worse cooling. Personally haven't experienced much software issues but obviously not as smooth as samsung or oneplus. Still an amazing phone regardless, especially for it's price.
@@MyChiliIceCream well I've used the Samsung s22 ultra, OnePlus fold and this as well. Though I would happily put up with this for £500 less (than the s24 ultra).
@@youngfigaroperfect. I currently own a s22U and I don't game with my phone. I'm mainly concerned about smoothness and battery life when it comes to phone and it seems like Nubia already covered the battery life part. Your comment however regarding smoothness got my attention.
@@xphyleIf you are keen about taking selfies, well there’s literally any other phone out there? I would personally take the notchless display over a fancy hole camera which I use once in a long while any day. Great to have a choice :)
Pixel 6 pro user of 3 years... Would a move to the Nubia Z60 be disappointing? I think the 35mm camera appeals, GCAM can be sideloaded. The uninterrupted screen is the main selling point along with the snapdragon for emulating
Pre-ordered Z60 Ultra and so far had zero software issues and find the UI, software, camera tech, battery life and overall hardware quality all top tier. It literally destroys flagships from Apple and Samsung in every category for half the price. PHONE OF THE YEAR 🏆📱🎆
The humungous battery and in-display camera are quite attractive features! If everything else is competitive for the price, then they've done a great job! The back of the phone does look randomly glued together though 😅
@@xphyleI truly can't comprehend how someone can be as annoyed with a tiny little hole on the screen as some people can be That's mental health issue territory as far as I'm concerned
as they all have OIS, they can't be on one board because of magnetic interference. so nubia also tried to distinguishly design each sensor from one another as a result of that
@@xphyleI wrote the comment before seeing the camera section in the video 😅. It's definitely an "Oh dear" moment. I was definitely expecting something better.
Great review as always mate, straight to the point no BS definitely not what the news feeds are saying about it online just now but didn't think so anyway.
This phone is only 570USD for the base version 8/256GB. It's a really good phone having top of the line features. Bought mine during sale and I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm usually into Redmagic 9 Pro but I only play MOBA and the Z60 can easily play them without issues.
It’s like a LG V70 that was never made, I’m very tempted as it’s currently on sale. Thank you for introducing this phone. Maybe it’s time to update from my 3 year old LG V60. 😉
I had the LGV30 and absolutely loved it, quad dac and headphone jack :) only other fine I like as much was one of the Asus zenfones, would you reccomend the latest LG V series phones?
Great to see you in South Shields, you were literally around the corner from my house (I can see Kuzey from my lounge). Wish I'd known, I'd have got you a pint. Hope you and tilly flop enjoyed it back up here and your lungs didn't explode with joy at having fresh air rather than the great smogs, erm, smog. 😅
At last 😂 thank you for reviewing this phone, I trust your reviews more than others. Now we need to discuss my other request about this phone, though I cannot remember how I sent my request ⚽️🏀
Wish the U.S wasn't monopolized by Samsung, Google and Apple. Moto is hanging by a thread, thanfully OnePlus is starting to come back up, but we are fairly limited on "good phones". Sure, there is Asus and Sony, but they don't offer budget phones in the U.S. Only one or two of their most expensive devices. The best "flagship" killer for years has been last years flagship device for many.
@@guidine7 I think they mean that the only device that is better than for example a Samsung device is the next Samsung in line. Next iPhone is the only iPhone killer, next Google device is the only Google flagship killer... etc.
I'd go as far as to say, this is a proper content creator's phone, and I just LOVE the retro look, the coolest looking camera setup, way better than iPhone or JunkSung.
I'm using z50 ultra, this must be the most amazing look I ever had. And the camera is in quite good quality, the MyOS is not bad, and the game mode is pretty much the best
I got my Z60 Ultra now in Australia & it works! I found a bunch of camera modes that no reviewers have mentioned including a slow motion with almost 2,000 frames per second. I would recommend installing your own keyboard because the one that comes with is frustratingly annoying. I went with the Microsoft swift keyboard. The camera is extremely capable if you're willing to spend a little time adjusting the settings, as many of the defaults including that stupid Watermark are not great choices. Gen Z won't cope with the selfie camera but millennials should be able to manage it, as they're used to flipping it around and using the main camera. I got the Dragon New Year limited edition, which looks amazing with the gold trim. I didn't think much of the opaque red case it comes with, perhaps uncle Spurt will send me his clear condom case? 😂 The biggest downside of this phone is my girlfriend now wants me to get one for her too!
@@iRonkzxyI have noticed a lot of the things reviewers have complained about can be turned off in settings such as the always on display can be always on if you set the time to "always" instead of the default 10 seconds. The AI battery manage mint needs to be adjusted so that it doesn't turn off apps that have alarms or receive notifications. I don't count these as bugs however as they are mostly features I previously didn't have in my old phone.
@@iRonkzxyI have had a couple of times where the app has hung, which was resolved by simply locking and unlocking the phone. When I went into the app again I wasn't able to reproduce the bug. This behaviour only seems to occur with the supplied apps that came with the phone and not with the Google apps. The best part of this phone is there is absolutely no lag no matter how many things you have open or are running at once. I love the ability to run RU-vid in a thumbnail in the corner! It means I can see Uncle spurt rabbiting on at all times 😂
@@iRonkzxyI even have genshin impact loading the giant data file for two hours as a thumbnail in the corner of the screen while I did other stuff with the phone
@@iRonkzxyI have not been able to find voice over Wi-Fi as a function in any of the menus of the Chinese version and hope somebody like uncle spurt let me know if such features are in the global version. it is now possible to flash the global version.
hi there. Such a useful review. In some of your other videos, I've seen that you praise the Poco F6 and F6 Pro a lot. I really like those two, but my main concern is the camera. I come from a Poco F4 Pro where the camera is... well, rubbish, really, and I wanted something with more oomph in that department (also, the other day a friend of mine was taking pics with her Samsung S23 and I died of jealousy). For circa 80 quid more than the Poco F6 PRo or 150 more than the F6, would you recommend the Nubia Z60 Ultra (currently at £434 on Aliexpress for the 256GB version, which by the way seems like a wild discount compare to the £700 price on Amazon UK!)? Any tip you can give me will be massively appreciated because I've spent the last couple of weeks looking up zillion reviews (not only on the above but also on old flagships like the Samsung S22 Ultra, the Pixel 7 pro, etc) and I can't make my mind up. Thanks so much!! ps: keep the swearing and the burps coming by all means!
As interesting as the Z60 Ultra is a fairly big issue is software support it would seem. Personally i think 6-7 years of Software support is more marketing than actually useful as most people keep their phones for 4 years tops and hardware will make quite big performance advancements in that time. But for at least 4 years i'd like software support to be a non-issue. But 2 years for 700 bucks and above is just too little with 4-5 years i'd say being a perfectly fine middle ground. But how long does Nubia support their devices? 2-3 years is what i found on their site and that's just not good enough for the asking price and given the total package of the phone... Pay less and get a Nothing Phone (2) which offers 3-4 years of updates and decent enough cams and display and solid software. But not quite as beefy of an SoC. Pay more and go for a OnePlus 12, which has an equal or better camera setup, a better display (punchhole aside) and 4-5 years of updates. Or pay equal and import said OnePlus 12 from China. Subjective preferences such as design aside: Where does this phone sit when the options slightly below it and above it exist and make more sense as more "complete" devices at their given price points? Don't really see a valid point for anyone to go for this phone or am i missing something?
You know there is a smartphone with a 23800 Ah battery. It's a brick but for someone like me that needs at least a week of battery while in the backcountry its a gamechanger. Plus I can project movies on the side of my tent. Review the Unihertz 8849 Tank 3 Pro
I cashed in some socks to send you a little thank you for this review. The reason socks are so highly valued here is because they are used to fend off Drop Bears! 😝
Too many different OS in the market right now. It's hard to pick the most self suitable one without really experiencing it. Seems like you one reputable reviewer that could help everyone with the OS user interface experience, feature & performance; with identical hardware. Making a deep comparison among all the popular name OS; HyperOS vs MagicOS, Funtouch/originOS, OxygenOS & myOS. Only with real world user experience can express out how each hardware perform with the software that run those hardware. Good hardware need a reliable, stable & good software to keep the device perform as they were expected. Following your channel
This phone is all I'm seeing this week in my news feeds saying its the end of the s24 ultra 😂 5 month ot seems after your review so had to see a review see what all the fuss was about! £499 online it seems now so not bad but got my s24 ultra for £934 when you know how to find the deals
I am really digging the latest phones from China, especially the design-wise, they are in touch with modern but also so retro, something I love, but man are they huge! Any recommendations for something that looks more like this/less like generic iSungs out there, but isn't an ENORMOUS BRICK!?? Though bigger here means better gaming experience, I'm not hating it, I just want something a little smaller.
It's 1 mounth that i use Z60 Ultra , after s23 Ultra and Fold 5 , and if you are ok to give a chance, this device is fk incredible i don't know why not manny more people buy this phone , besithe the low quality under display camera, this phone with this price has no negative thing !
@@iRonkzxy Actualy the software is perfect , yesterday i have recived a big update and every thing is flawless , updates are verry important , and the battery is a monster 2 full day usage with adaptive refresh rate and , 1.5day with 120hz allways on !
I used a nubia phone for 2-3 years a while back, problems with gps, with the wifi, with the call notifications, ran very hot after some months, terrible overall software experience (seems its very improved im glad), had 1 major android update and only 3 security updates after that, i didnt had a great experience tbh
I have a Galaxy S24 Ultra and a Nubia Z60 Ultra. The photos are better on the Nubia, especially portrait photos. Night photos are also much better on the Nubia.
I have purchased this unit on Feb 2024, have been using it for 6 months. Display is great, ui is smooth. Battery life was decent after last update it seems to have draining bit faster.night vision of rear camera is good. Front Camera - it's the ever worst camera any phone can have...at low lights it's better to not use, for anyone with frequent video calls not recommended at all. Rear camera is decent, 30x zoom is just as a feature not of use as picture quality at that range is poor. While using on outdoors , the phone heats up easily..overheats
I wish phones like this would just do away with the selfie camera altogether. I mean in this case in particular, the people who know about this phone, don't care about taking selfies I think. I certainly don't, and I've never used a selfie camera in my entire life. Or maybe phone companies should provide and alternate screen with no selfie camera.
It isn't just selfies though: the front camera is very useful for video calls with family members and friends. This device's approach is much better than the notched displays we've been seeing for years
Hahaha I just commented in another thread about this saying I've never used a selfie cam in my life & don't care for them. They never impact my purchasing decisions whilst looking for a new device as they're completely irrelevant to my needs. Although I do own newer flagships that's why I often still use my Oppo Reno 10 × zoom from 2019. Despite it's beautiful build quality & design which I love, it allows me a full screen viewing experience with the pop up shark fin selfie cam hidden unless you need it.
Try going live on Facebook with this phone and within 30 minutes it will complain of overheating and suspend your livestream. Maybe a Snapdragon issue?
When doing heavy video rendering certain apps crash, but when I sync the same project to older Samsung devices, the Samsung phone will at least complete the task albeit at a slower rate
This is amazing to see, I've been using my Z60 Ultra Starry Night edition for few weeks now!! Its really incredible, battery is amazing, camera is amazing. BUT....this front camera has been unforgivable 🥲🤣 it is legitimately TERRIBLE
I'm watching the review on my NUBIA Z50 phone bought for only 315 Euros.. Mind blown specs and performance... If Nubia continues to deliver these kind of phones.. I am never ever going to buy phones for me and my family from any other brands.
I am actually going to get between these phone. Redmagic 9 pro, Xiaomi 14 ultra or this Nubia. All of this phone offers good specs, bc i like both gaming & taking photos.. the main reason is, which one!🥴 In my country all phone sell almost at the same price. Help me I guess
If I didn't already own a Pixel 8 Pro, this is the 2024 flagship I was considering but if I lived in the UK, it's hard to choose this over the just announced global Honor Magic 6 Pro especially with the £250 off voucher currently available bringing that phone down to £849.
Howdy Uncle Spurt! I do wish we could get some of these Europe based phones here in the states. Like Oppo Nubia & Realme. I know they make international versions of some of these phones but would have to check to see if they work on my AT&T network.
@@shoelacedonkey i read they're coming back for season 4. it wasn't released on netflix originally and the ratings weren't good. but since it went onto netflix, it was in the top 10 series so they going to make another season. that's what i read anyway.
Looks particularly good for gamers, which I'm not, so prefer the system and camera of the Google Pixel 8, or even the 7 for great vslue where available, with wireless charging too
Bought it a month ago and its my favorite phone! It works flawlessly on T mobile but ok on Verizon. When on Verizon it has a hard time switching between wifi and network, no clue why
i'm really hesitating between this z60 ultra and the oneplus12. i love the no notch screen as i almost never take selfies. but i feel like the oneplus 12 has better software, longer updates and maybe a better screen brightness
Nubia series are the best !!!! Strong smartphones , good for gaming and bitcoin mining !!!! 💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥 But not most beautiful , it's too big , heavy and simple shape !!!! If I could buy any smartphone , I would probably go first for Mate series !!!!
why couldn't they add that sliding switch software feature into the red magic series phones? its the exact same switch and you can map the gamespace to a app icon instead. I would much rather have that sliding switch used for some other application for function.
It is disappointing to hear the software is not up to scratch, but the phone has not been out long so hopefully they will resolve those bugs, or else I will slap on a third party launcher. I assume you are using the global version, so it will be interesting to see what the Chinese version behaves like as that is the one I have ordered. I know it will have bloatware to be deleted but I understand they get more updates on the local version.
They do have it available in the United States. Unfortunately though, it does not ship with all of the bands needed. So, you might have some reception issues.. :/
They also made a Z50 Ultra that looked a lot better than the Z60 Ultra, but it was China only and didn't support the 4G/5G bands needed for other countries. I've looked at some reviews for the Z50s Pro and it's cameras as not on the same level as the ultra.
@@saturnbluewhat it lacks in rear camera I think makes up with hole punch front cam and rounded corner so better ergonomics. 5k Vs 6k batt but no biggie. I'm surprised not many reviewers covered z50s pro considering there is a global version.
@@FaisalKhan-fm1oy for me the z60 Ultra/z50 ultra had the perfect combination of features. It did not have a curved screen which are fragile when you drop them and they land on an edge. It doesn't have a selfie camera that I never use spoiling the screen. It is available with 24 gig and 1 terabyte so it won't become obsolete and laggy anytime soon. Add to that a good set of rear cameras that can hold their own against other flagships and I am a happy camper. Last year the Z50 ultra didn't have any of the Bands necessary for Australia but this year the z60 does so I have ordered one. I guess it all depends on what you want in a phone. I did want more than 3 years of updates until I realised my current phone which is 7 years old only had 3 years and it's still working fine, so long as you don't count the huge lag from having only 4 gig of ram.
This should have a good selfie camera given its not a gaming phone. No niche for this product unfortunately. if they do away with under display camera then I will buy this for sure.
Don't worry if you think this phone is not for you. Nubia will have a version with a punch hole like last year. This one is for me as I don't take selfies that much. I have a second phone in case I need to do video calling but that is very seldom with me as well.
