Blender has one of the most powerful physics engines in 3D applications? What the hell are you smoking? Blender has some of the worst physics solver in the whole 3D industry, as evident by the fact that all of them are ancient and the Blender Foundation never touches those. These addons do not change the core of the solvers, all they do is make life a little less horrible by introducing better UI, none of it changes the fact that almost no solver can handle anything even remotely considered complex.
You're absolutely right! After using Blender for 5 years, its physics engine has failed me almost every single time. I then switched to Houdini, and never looked back.
