Hey I’ve been away from PdX for almost 5yrs now, but if they’re still around, Ken’s artisan Pizza, Scottie’s Pizza, Lovely’s Fifty Fifty, and Pyro’s (this one was a food cart on Hawthorne) will be worth adding to this competition!! Though Apozza Scholls is also my all time favorite pizza spot in PDX even with the others I listed! Great work
Nice video man, I'm Also from NY that moved to Portland. Long island to be more specific. So far my favorite spot has been Straight from NY Pizza on Burnside. Been looking but Haven't had anything better.
Yes! Atlas is cool and ppl have mentioned Boxcar. I’ll definitely take a trip out to them soon. Thanks a bunch. What’s your favorite pizza in Portland overall?
Loved this video! If you ever have the chance, be sure to try Stark Street Pizza as well as Flying Pie Pizzeria 😃 I’ve lived in the Portland area my whole life basically and I’ve always enjoyed these two places🍕
@@MouseOnFeet I used to work at flying pie in st johns its pretty good! I think the standard pies have too thick of crust and too much crust on the other options like the stuffed pizzas for me ! I would always make my personals wayyy thinner so if you go ask for a thin crust !
Scottie’s Pizza Parlor is my favorite you have to try it! It’s a sourdough pizza super simple menu and super tasty. He grew up in brooklynn. But since you liked apizza scholls. You should try Red Sauce pizza because the girl who owns it used to work at apizza scholls. So both of there doughs are made using Poolish preferments so there doughs are well fermented. And easy to digest 👏🏻
Wow, with the inside scoop! Thank you for this info lol. I’ve tried Scotties and they’re definitely cool. Will get over to Red Sauce and try it out soon
Liked and subscribed to your channel even though I do not like sneakers :( Please keep posting like these videos :) I am going to try the Apizza Scolls SOOOON
Liked and subscribed to your channel. Enjoy the perspective from another former East Coaster who has been living in Portland since January 2021. I have become a little bit of a sneakerhead since moving to PDX. I live only a block away from Ranch and I think it’s pretty good. I will most definitely try Apizza Scholls on Hawthorne soon.
Escape from New York hits different you should have done this with pepperoni instead of cheese pizza there’s no way apizza scholls is better I never tried it but you should try pizza jerk or escape from ny again
@@JOKER-wm1bw Agee completely. I have been eating it since the early 80's too and for a slice it's the best and reminiscent of NY or South Jersey but for a pizza it's Apizza Scholl's hands down.
I just moved to New York City from Portland, OR. I lived in NW for a few years. All the good spots are in the East Side, some hidden gems. Don't sleep on Ken's.
I'm a pizza lover and been to NYC a few times on pizza tours and I can say without a doubt there is more bad pizza in NYC than good. The dollar slices are horrid. I could eat John's on Bleeker all day.
@@MouseOnFeet Portland doesn't have the population density to pencil out $1 slices like Manhattan. I'm not aware of other places you've tried yet but PDX has more Neopolitan style than NYC. I've had pizza from coast to coast and PDX has some gems you might have not discovered yet though if you want a traditional NY slice you'll be wanting more.
This video is wack damn. I've had a lot of pizza... Calling pizza thief a 1 or 1.5/10 is basically saying you have never had pizza. Where would dominos, 7-eleven, that shitty $2 frozen pizza at the store go, if pizza thief is a 1 or 1.5???? With other food reviewers I can get a grasp on what they are looking for, but your taste buds seem EXTREMELY off. Although apizza schols is the best on the list.
I hate to give someone a 1 but Pizza Thief gave us burnt, pickled pizza. They might not always be that bad but we can only judge them on what they give us.
I grew up in and still live in portland, it makes me glad knowing that all the REALLY good pizza places are still undiscovered. I would put none of these places even in the top 10 honestly. All these are just trendy hipster places lol
