Hi all - Trev here! If you are new to wild camping on Dartmoor or any where for that matter - then please enjoy the outdoors but more importantly RESPECT THE OUTDOORS by following the LEAVE NO TRACE policy. Fires are prohibited, as are disposable BBQ's. Take your litter home with you and do not chase the animals. Thanks guys and girls!

Been watching your videos for some time now building up to doing this myself and last night myself and my partner finally did it....first wild camp. Four winds car park, TV mast, down to the quarries and camped at the top of King Tor facing west toward Merrivale. What a sunset! Thank you!!

Hi Trev. Love your videos..... always binge-ing on them :-) Off the back of this one we tried our first ever wildcamping 2 weeks ago. It was brilliant. We were very lucky with the weather. We camped at Great Staple Tor first night and King's Tor the second night (Foggintor Quarry was too busy - cows and people!). It was so much fun and we will definitely be doing more of it in the future. Many thanks for the inspiration and all the great advice. All the best.

I did Cox Tor in June, it was 30 degrees Centigrade, only one camping there, surprisingly, fantastic sunrise and sunset, very peaceful and fantastic views.

Thank Trev. Re watched this video. I walked from.the Whitchurch common car park. To Cox tor. Middle staple tor. Great staple tor and then roos tor . Then back to middle staple tor then back to the car . In the mist during the day. Such a good Friday for me . All because of your channel. Thank dude .

First wild camping last night at Great Mis Tor! Thank you for the recommendations. It’s stunning. Was hammering rain most of the night, but glorious morning. Wandering all day today in usual British weather. Mostly rain and a bit of sun. Yet to make my mind where pitching for the night.

Lustleigh Cleave, up towards Ravens Tor and Hunters Tor. Probably one of my favourite places in the country, and surely some decent camp options. Also Dewerstone but not sure that’s in the permitted area…

Thanks for this video, me and my girlfriend went on our first wild camp based on some of your info! There's a food shack open at merrivale now and the pub should be at some point ☺️ We parked originally at pork hill car park and found a load of geocaches to the south and camped there. Next day we explored the tors to the north and merrivale and moved to explore the standing stones and disused tin mine and camped near there. We carried all our gear to test the waters but it was handy knowing we can leave extra water and food in the car. Now need to find a more compact sleeping mat and bag...

@@WelshGman1972 Not sure how far you will be traveling but I would keep an eye on the Dartmoor.gov site. Went to Merrivale with the Mrs z couple of days ago. The question is - how do you find a space to pitch tent that's not covered in pony and sheep shit? We couldn't walk 12 inches in any direction without seeing it. Or do you just clear it away with a stick?
