Survival tip: always stay together. Never split up. If something would have happened to one of you, ie twisting ankle, breaking leg, collapsing etc youd be in seriously bad shit
Thanks for the info. Hello mate, travelling from China with a bike. Long story but my mum's just been admitted into a care home in Exmouth so I'll be commuting. Be depressing to just stay in a hotel and then go to a care home. Anyway, Taking a bivvy, bike and sleeping bag, 7kg pack. They stop firing on the 18th of July so will start on the 19th. Where do you recommend if cycling from Exmouth? Not sure if they'll allow my bike on the train from Exeter to Exmouth. Thanks in advance.
First of all, great explanation, secondly, I don't know if it's because of the quality of the video but it seems to me that you are not using 3 of the guide lines of the tent, one in the back where the ventilation is and the remaining two, one on each side of the door, it seems to me that that is the reason why it collapsed in the strong wind
Brilliant video Trev! This part of Dartmoor is absolutely stunning. Fair play to you for camping in bad weather to test the tent. I really don't blame the people who refuse to camp in horrendous weather. The tent got battered all through the night, but it stayed up. Thanks for sharing, take care, Jordan.
Ohhhhh! You are celebrating 1000 subscribers to your channel!!! Congrats, cheers!!! 🍻🥳 Thought you ate 1K footlong sandwiches from a bigger fast food franchise!! 🥪🥖🥪
When full moon over Dartmoor... ...don't go outside, the locals said! ...barricade doors and windows, the locals said! ... you and your beloved should stay close to the fireplace, the locals said! When the full moon shines bright over Dartmoor, something is roaming through the moor! Up and down the hills, from tor to tor! The locals said! An sometimes you can hear a cry, echoing from the stony top of a hill .... "Summit or nothing!" 🌕🏞🏕🧟♂
Fantastic video Trev! It's great that you guys are back together, even though this camp happened a while back. Bleak House Ruins does look a bleak place to camp. The stove issue was a close call. No doubt that homemade boil in the bags taste far more better than manufactured ones. Thanks for sharing, take care, Jordan.
I’ve seen another video review of this tent where it shows that if you first set up the top central cross rod UNDERNEATH the main central arch you can the get the fly sheet/ outer tarp much closer to the ground and reduce air flow in the tent during cold weather.
Why is Donnah ahead most of the time? Because she hoisted her big red backpack-sail!!! 🙃 But what happened to Jem Jem? The dream team Jem-Don! Never saw her again on this channel! 🤔
A new legend: If you complain about the boggy ground to much, you will be swallowed by a hole in the ground! And a mud-foot monster will appear instead!🙃
Hi! Trev! The girls should keep this channel going, as long as you are on a break! Every now an then a little girls adventure, for the joy and pleasure of the viewers, until you come back!!! 🙃
Not a bad performance for two little ladies! But I must note: In the Trev and Nath videos, the scenery brings the beauty... in this video, the wonderful scenery has double, charming competition! 😍 I clearly should visit the Dartmoor area someday, if one could find such beauty in there! With regard to the landscape .... maybe!!!😉
Did the Cranmere Pool right of passage last week to become a fully fledged walker on Dartmoor. You have more than adequately summed up my experience of it. Never going back. 😂
This recipe was a roaring success. I swapped out the sugar for black treacle and used honey instead of the golden syrup. I soaked some chopped dates in hot water to plump them up a bit. The black treacle made it a little harder to tell when it was done, but your timings were spot on. Supermarket own brand hazelnut chocolate melted fine in the microwave and added some more nuts. It's probably not as sweet as yours but still tasted good. Trouble is, it doesn't last long. Many thanks for sharing this recipe, Nick.
Trev, YT is not the same without a (somewhat) regular SoN video upload! Hope all's well, hope you find the space to go out on a hike and show us all about it. If you can, convince Nath to come along! Btw, nice vid this one, a lovely day on a beautiful stretch of coastline. Varied shots, you do have an eye for landscapes and details/incidents.
Ever considered to get a licence to operate some food trucks and portable toilets in Dartmoor??? 😂 Maybe environmentally friendly horse powered carriages and some kind of field kitchen... selling stews or soup and sausages!? And when the pots are empty, you could mount a seat on them!!! 🤣 Must be a fortune to make with this!!! 🤔😉
Near Birmingham there is a 4 letters danish furnitur shop ( starts with J ) there you can get a tent for £20 / £35!!! ( June 2024 ) Maybe better than tarp!!! Right next to Decathlon!!! 😂😉
trev i think you ave the air bed the wrong way up mate it should be the silver side up mate you done the same with the trekology pillow but i didn,t want to mention it but sick video mate and loverly views
Is there a specific map that one can carry ie or similar to an OS map that shows the permissible areas one is allowed to camp, or is it simply a case of learning from experience where the various designated wild camp areas begin and end. This is a great video thanks as I’m intending to travel from London to Dartmoor to have a couple of wild camps. Driven round much of it and done a few short walks but this will be my first time really hiking and camping
The worst kitesurfing video I ever saw!!! 🤣😂 Every time the "sail" tried to fly away properly, you tied it to the ground ... again and again and again ...!!! 🤣😂
