Man I’m one of those 26 year old guys that has maintained the “I don’t want a family or kids ever” line as long as I can remember. Seeing your awesome family hanging out together and working together makes me think your on to something. At the very least seeing you and your wife raise kids like Ralphie and your daughters gives me a bit more faith in the world. It was cool to share the moment even just a little bit!

As a 53 year old owner of a 1985 Corvette, this video hit me in the feels! When these C4s came on the scene in 1984, I was a 15 year old Hot Rod magazine readin' car nut. I was the oldest of 4 siblings, and my dad bought a new 1984 Chevy Beauville van as the family car hauler in Dec. of that year. When we went to the dealership to take delivery of our van, we walked into the showroom and the new Corvette was on the showroom floor. In my mind at that time I secretly admired that car and marvelled at the price on the sticker. About 6 years ago I ran across a nice 39k mile example that was still a daily driver for an elderly woman who was giving it up due to left leg issues and it being a standard trans car. I have gone through the interior and a lot of mechanicals on it. The plexiglass targa was not a friend to the interior of it, and it was parked outside a majority of the time because of her job. I will tell you like I tell all my friends who have boys "coming of age", if they like cars. These are the best bang for the buck if you are looking for a project with your son or daughter. Parts are everywhere, and great model specific aftermarket support. I even had my cassette player fixed so I could bust out my high school tape collection! Very interested in seeing what y'all do with your '87. Congrats!

Before I even watch all of this, I have to say that whoever you are, you gave Ralphie and even his sisters a gift that is so awesome. I say thank you too. Seeing Ralphie's reaction was priceless! This brought back some sweet memories. I taught my daughter to drive in a 1965 falcon with a 289 and 3 speed manual. I taught my son in a 1970 corvette with a 454 and a 4 speed manual. Both cars where quick but the kids caught on quickly. I will never forget the first time my son follow my directions to let the clutch out slowly and the give it some gas. When he felt it move he dumped the clutch and gave it 1/2 throttle. A thrilling sideways takeoff. On the serious side I taught them both to respect the power these machines have and to use them safely to protect themselves and others. Racing is done on a track not the street and that also applies to showing off.

His wouldn't stay running last year the shop told him 3.000 dollars to fix it so he said no and had it towed home and when I got home off the road I tested it and putting a new ignition system in it.
