The ability add website links to quick search. Just like the google, Amazon, RU-vid, and twitter, I was able to add instagram and couple of other websites I use quite often as shortcuts.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mNBB5A553Yw.html ThQ for your recommendations! You talk about ssd drives, and here in nz we are paying more then 6x the price of the best 1TB Samsung ssd recommended for their MacBook Air. I wasted an hour with Apple trying to get to their rational sadly for this with no success. So my 1st question is, can you load and run apps from an external ssd? I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered the M1 Air with 16 unified RAM and 1TB of storage after hearing in the stores the speakers of all the M2s compared to the 13in M1 finding it better than all of them in sound and a few hundred dollars cheaper. I am regretting it now because I thought it would have the magnetic charging dongle and I now see that the M3 is supposedly coming out in October...should I cancel my order and wait for the M3? ThQ in advance!!!
I recently bought a mac and I've been watching many videos on how to use a macbook and be more productive. You were the first one to pop up and I couldn't stop myself from watching all your videos They're all so well detailed and I can tell you put a lot of effort into your videos. Keep up the good work, love your videos!
WOW! I have been a Mac guy since 1995 and this will bring my productivity to a whole new level. The lack of opening and closing windows all day will definitely be an asset. I never cared much for Spotlight, so I never really used it. This however will be my daily go to. So glad I stumbled upon your video "Top 10 BEST Mac Apps for Productivity". Snagged a couple more that will be useful from here as well. Thanks Chris!
Okay, Alfred is my new favourite thing. As someone with ADHD whose mind is in ten different places at once, being able to access everything I need to from the same place without having to manually jump between apps will up my productivity by a mile. If I eventually get the PowerPack, workflows will be my number one tool.
I appreciate the ability to search all files and the internet. I take copious notes and sometimes my notes reflect a website that I visited. I find it helpful that Alfred will find my note, document, and a website.
I thoroughly enjoyed using the Alfred app, and your detailed explanation motivated me to explore and utilize all of its features. Among the various functionalities, the clipboard history and internal file search stood out as my absolute favorites.
Even better tip- if you have a newer Mac with one of the dedicated spotlight search keys, install Karabiner-Elements, unbind that key, and then use F4 (what that key would otherwise do) to launch Afred.
My favorite of Alfred is learning Alfred exists. This video is the 1st Time I’ve heard of Alfred. I’ve been a Mac owner (not a real user) since 2002. Where Have I been? That said, if it weren’t for my senior moment there would be no moments, 😅
Thanks for sharing this. Tried Alfred before, but felt overwhelmed when setting it up. After watching this, I feel like that I need to try it again and go through it slowly this time.
I’m with you - opening the app and seeing the convoluted settings can be daunting! It steered me away from the app several times over the years. Hopefully this video helped provide some clarity and insight into some useable features and workflows for you to get more use out of the app 👍🏼
The clipboard feature has got to be my favorite thing Alfred has to offer. I find myself needing to copy and paste a lot and I hate having to go back and fourth to copy one by one.
Im new to mac and I just discovered alfred. This is such a helpful video. For me i love the fact that you can integrate bitwarden using workflows, even though i do not have the powerpack, i really want it just for that.
Thanks for the video. Definitely think you should do a video on Workflows and an update on Alfred 5.5 would be useful. Have a question on the clipboard manager. Does it allow you to store your clips into folders? For instance I may be researching a topic and find text, images, sites, etc. that are relevant. Instead of just dropping all these into a global clipboard it would be really helpful if you could setup folders and drop clips as they occur into specific folders. This would make it so much easier to easily access all relevant clips by just selecting which folder you want and then see all associated clips.
you are precise and well-collected. I have watched so many tech videos, but yours is different. I usually don't sub. channel after watching just a video, but man... you gained a new subbie here today!
A little late to the vid but your videos are so easy to watch and gives me all the details in every video you post. This is my first time getting Alfred and I love how you can practically do anything on the app.
Watched all of your videos and you definitely made it so much easier for me to learn and use Macbook Pro! I got the Macbook Pro 16" M2 and with your tech tips and app tips and tricks it has helped me so much also missed your new video so glad you're back here hoping to see even more in future have a good day! :)
Just started using Alfred because of your video. Still need to learn a lot but I really like web searching feature. I set up some of my most used sites and it is much faster than using browser bookmarks.
love your help, it realy helped me understand alfred the only thing is that i dont seem to find the toggle desktop icons, if anyone has the same issue or maby if a update changed some stuff plys tell me
@@Christomshack I was able to figure most of it out. Lot of shortcuts. Also, Max has their own shortcuts too (I realized that yesterday). Lots of learning. If you can make a video about rectangle, it’ll be great.
Give away is probably over but regardless I'm going down the Alfred wormhole cause I need the simplified workflows and control! I'm tech challenged, very much so 😂😳 Thanks for the setup help! I'm sure I'll get stuck before long once I get into setting it up
Wow I didn’t know Alfred had all of these features. The clipboard history is really cool, and it’d be really interesting to mess around with the workflows.
saw your Mac apps video today and then came to your channel .. Am so happy to see that people are able to still make things work with YT. You started 4 months ago, have 5 videos, yet were able to make some 27K subscribers. Amazing job. BTW, of all the apps that you mentioned, the only 1 I installed in the ALFRED .. This butler is too good :-) .. All the best for you and your channel buddy
Hey Chris, how are you? I'm looking forward to buy a new MacBook with one of the Apple Silicon chips and I've never own a Mac before, i'm a 10 years Windows user! Although I have other Apple products like iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, i'm a little worried with the battery life of my future Mac and how I could make it the biggest time possible! Could you please make a video focusing on this theme, explaining everything we need to know about the new Macs battery life and the best tips and tricks to keep it safe and healthy? Thanks since now!
I like that it's SO much faster at launching apps compared to Spotlight. Spotlight will randomly start indexing and when I start typing the first few letters of an app I use all the time, it won't even be available in the results.
WOW. I’ve been using Alfred for so long now that I completely forgot how incredibly annoying that is… especially when it happens multiple times in a row 🤜🏼💻
Honestly I feel a bit weird, writing this comment, but anyway. I liked the video from the first second, just because you look so damn crisp. And through the whole video, aside that it had nice and helpful content, it was just such a pleasure to watch it, as your audio and video just nailed it.
hey man! i really doubt you'll read this, but ive been commenting on DOZENS of creators' videos about this & none want to respond. my question is, why do you use Chrome instead of Safari? all of the videos i watch say Safari is the best, but of the creators i watch all seem to be using Chrome. that's it! thanks so much man, hope to hear back from you. 🖤
I use the free version Alfred and has never served me. I don't get to see any of these features. Please help me get the pro version to unlock these features.
The future I didn't know about and finding it really useful is the password manager and clipboard history. I've been using a Raycast for the past 2 month and I need to say it's great but really overwhelming. Alfred is much "simplier" and more minimalistic :D Btw great video!
@@Christomshack So far so good! It's way easier to set up and I like that you can hide the main icon. In Raycast I couldn't figure out how to hide the main icon and when I installed Spotify plugin (which is the one thing I miss) suddenly I had one more icon which I couldn't hide. And the set up of Raycast is much more complicated.
Wow! I never knew Alfred could be this useful. Thank you for making this video. I have a question though: I am a software engineer and I use Terminal heavily. Do you think the terminal feature of Alfred is useful as compared to using an actual terminal? Is the 1Password license included with Alfred Powerpack?
