Love how he called the 2019 pats offense awful like it was Brady’s fault. Tom had his two prime weapons AB and Josh Gordon released and benched over nothing, Brady’s stats would be jacked if Belichecks ego didn’t get in the way
I love that this fictional Ultimate QB who played from age 20 to 48 using the best season of any QB at each age still has the same number of rings as Tom Brady.
@@peltimies2469 in reality almost every era had cheating, just using different methods. In recent memory I think the 80s and like mid 2000s-2010s were better than the "juice" era. If I could watch any tho, I think like 1890-1910 is probably the best. Got dudes like cy young, the Rube, Ty Cobb, and even black players who apparently never existed because Jackie Robinson was "the first black player"
The end of the list would be players who had excellent careers and were just playing it out at the end, and the earlier parts would be genuinely terrible quarterbacks for their time in all likelihood.
Rodgers age 33 season in 2016 is low-key one of the greatest seasons ever. He completely willed that garbage packers team to the NFC championship game. Insane
@@StevenDaddy1299Could it be one of the best seasons of its final result (I.e. One of the best seasons that ended in the conference championship game?) And who would get your vote for the best out of curiosity?
I counted 9 times including the last 7 years of his career. I think he should come back and throw a pass and break the 46 year old with no completions. It's a wonder George Blanda don't have that age as well as 47 and 48.
@@michael7054Blanda was primarily a kicker for most of the second half of his very long career, and would only come in at quarterback for special game situations like mop-up duty. In his age-46 season, he attempted 33 field goals across 14 games and made 23, career bests in both makes and make %, and converted all 31 extra points he attempted. He is almost certainly one of the only players in NFL history to throw a pass, catch a pass, intercept a pass, record a rushing attempt, attempt a field goal, attempt an extra point, punt, and return a kickoff.
@@dfp_01 They should have let edelman kick a few times, then he could boast the same. But they went from vinatiery to gostkowski. Adam is a living legend but honestly gostkowski should be one too. Dude did not miss a single extra point from 2007-2015, that is 9 fucking years in a row, and had 6 years in his career at NE where he missed 3 or less fieldgoals for the whole season. And it is not like he only shot so few his career best is made 38 out of 41 attempts
Drew Brees’s 2011 season was absurd. He still holds the record for total yards per game in the regular season with 348. Mahomes now has the total yards record because of the extra game but it’s gonna be a while before Brees loses the per game one
@@fortynights1513 55 will remain the record for a while. Only current person I can see breaking that is Mahomes, and even then that dude runs too much to probably ever quite get there. So maybe Trevor Lawrence or Herbert might do something like that if their teams improve?
@@sprawlz6466Yeah, I see where you’re coming from. If you think about it, Peyton Manning (both in Indy and Denver) rushed far less often than most top quarterbacks are told to these days. That said, with the quarterback safety rules, and 17th game, I wouldn’t be surprised if the record did fall to a great passer whose coach preferred to pass more often.
@@cameronisam2208 I doubt it. He isn’t as trigger happy as he used to be and it more content with things like settling for field goals and passing inside the 5 to hand it off for a TD. The only type of player I can see beating this record is a player like second year Mahomes (trigger happy and always goes for the big play) or someone like Manning (pocket passer with experience who has no real run game and never scrambles)
Mahomes is otherworldly. You could run a reel solely consisting of plays from games he lost and *still* have no doubts about him. But, most importantly, he's validated every fan and silenced every doubter. And, unlike a certain OTHER legendary quarterback, he isn't coasting on the sheer volume of his accomplishments.
Neither is Brady. In his first year as a starter Brady took over a team that had a losing record the year before and the year before that went 8-8, so a team that was on a downward spiral, he took over when they where already 0-2, and he took that to the superbowl winning the most lopsided sb win of all time being a 14 point underdog. I would argue that is the biggest impact any single player ever had on a team. The patriots where to 1 SB befor he became the qb and lost, and became THE team to beat for 20 years .
@daftwulli6145 I never said Brady isn't legendary. Brady is in another league entirely, one Mahomes isn't going to become a member of unless his health stays perfect.
@@smilingearth5181 well you did say :" And, unlike a certain OTHER legendary quarterback, he isn't coasting on the sheer volume of his accomplishments." so I thought you meant brady with that
I feel so bad for Drew Brees. All of his accomplishments, and he never really was the best quarterback each season. It would be Manning, Brady, Rodgers or Mahomes. Brees deserved better
2011 Rodgers > 2004 Peyton, rodgers’ team wasn’t as good as Peyton’s yet he was 5 points away to being the second team in nfl history to go 16-0. Not at all discrediting Peyton at all but Rodgers carried one of the worst defenses in the league to 15-1 while also breaking Peyton’s passer rating record from 2004 which still stands to this day
I agree with you there. I mean it’s a pretty logical assessment that if he had the best season for a QB in NFL history at 28, how is it possible that any other 28 year old had a better season? Literally doesn’t make any sense
the fact that age 26 isn't Christian McDaughterDater is an atrocity. he had a stellar 34 yards per attempt and threw a touchdown on 100% of his passes, the only Quarterback ever to boast that achievement. Barry, I am disappointed in you. you can't even argue that CMC is a running back because you included Lamar Jackson.
@@the6thpackbrewbuck Brees had superior stats and carried the Saints to a 13-3 record. The Packers also beat the playoff bound Lions resting Aaron Rodgers for the playoffs
@@someperson3883 Not the stats that matter, he threw 1 more td and 8 more picks, sorry dude, but I do think Brees should have won MVP in '09 over Peyton
I know recency bias is high but I think there’s a legitimate argument for CJ Stroud having the best 22 year old season ever. 4100+ yards even after missing two games. Leading the league in td/int ratio. And just recently became the youngest qb in history to win a playoff game
Nice idea. If I had any criticism, it would be that at ages where there are several good choices, doing a quick comparison and saying why you chose the one you did (I'm sure mostly down to playoff success). Not a big deal, but would have been nice to see the contenders.
Brady won the AFC Championship in 2007 because his sheer greatness made Phillip Rivers play nearly the entire game on a torn ACL and knocked out LaDainian Tomlinson out of the game after 2 carries
hi barry - before the nfl season what about a video breaking down your coded references - “daughter dater” - some i know but some i don’t get another idea - a video on your take on the chances the best college team has against the worst nfl team anyway love your stuff
