I thought the same, Dre didn't write his own songs, cube has a packed catalog of amazing songs. The choice is pretty clear to me who the better rapper is
@@ryansheehy7368 Wdym? Biggie literally had two outstanding albums that had amazing flow, lyrics and rhymes. Jay had a few great albums but none of them come close to ready 2 die. It's not a competition. Quality over quantity
Jay-Z and Biggie are pretty close but obviously Jay takes it due to his vast catalogue spanning over 3 decades and showing versatility as well. Biggie was tragically cut short
Absolutely Atrocious Ghostface clears Kanye lyrically Lupe clears Jay extremely easily Biggie clears Jay, carried him on his own song Ice Cube clears Dre, he was the ghostwriter for NWA
@@belligerent2941 I'm saying whenever people rate rappers they rarely rank it as rapping ability alone. Pac and Biggie wouldn't be top 10 all time if only rapping ability mattered
The fact that Kanye made it to the finals is crazy. He is an amazing artist and producer but as a rapper he's certainly not on the level of half the people on this list
I think in some cases it can go either way. If Ghostface gets picked a lot of people would’ve had an issue too. Ghostface is a better rapper I agree and his contributions can’t be overlooked but Kanye has also delivered some really unbelievable lines and songs. There’s a reason he makes hits and it’s not just cause of his producing. I just think it’s definitely closer than Ant made it that’s all.
You're kidding yourself if you think Lupe is over Jay-Z. How in the heck?? Jay-Z has wayy more classics under his belt. And also, his rapping is top tier as well.
Instantly lost all credibility when you clicked JAY-Z over Biggie. Biggie LITERALLY CARRIED HIM ON HIS OWN SONG!! (Brooklyn's Finest) AND EVEN BODIED HIM ON HIS OWN SONG!!! (I Love The Dough) Edit: I seemed to have started a war. I'll admit, it was a little bit aggressive what I said, but I still stand by my claim. Biggie > JAY-Z
How did Biggie carry the song?? Are you insane? They were close to each other’s level. I actually prefer Jay Z on Brooklyn’s Finest. I’d pick Biggie over Jay, but it’s COMPLETELY valid to pick Hov
Jay was lyrically superior on Brooklyn’s Finest, what are you talking about 😂😂😂 Jay and Big complemented each other on I Love The Dough. The only song I’d say Big was superior to Jay on would be Young G’s
I stand byy point. I some of JAY-Z's songs, just his main style I'm not a fan of. Also how immature/annoying he is at times (like posting all of his Grammys the day Nas releases KD III). And on a lot of his songs, he seems too egotistical and full of himself. Just my opinion.
@@no-vk2qe Tetsuot and Youth is better that any Jay album. Drogas Wave, The Cool, F & L and DMIZ are greath works. Mural is maybe the best lyrical Rap song of all time. Man even Lupe k*ll Jay in The Cool. If Lupe is too deep for your average taste is your problem.
Honestly nah it isn't. I feel like even if Biggie survived, Jay Z would've still been the better rapper, maybe. But we never know. But i can't say biggie was better because he had such a short amount of time on this earth
Come on, if we're talking pure rapping ability, André is clearly better. Ye was pretty good lyrically up until MBDTF, but he could never touch 3k. Ye would probably tell you that himself.
People need to separate "rapper" from "artist". When it comes to HIP HOP, its basic core lies in spitting bars and when it comes to that, Jay-Z and Ghostface are miles better than Kanye while also having an amazing discography and Ice Cube destroys Dr. Dre in every way as an MC. Simple as that. I'd give the highest ranking here to Jay-Z honestly. He's gone leaps and bounds to prove himself and has a hefty amount of classics under his belt spanning over 3 decades.
@@liamsss yes but it takes a lot more than just rapping to be considered one of the greatest artists of all time and Kanye has expertise in multiple avenues.... Your point?
@@deecee1853 Baby we living in the moment I've been a menace for the longest But I ain't finished, I'm devoted And you know it, and you know it Frl could already feel YE coming inside me and taking over by those lyrics
I was just thinking the other day, is it just me or is it weird to anyone else that Andre 3k featured on multiple Frank Ocean Songs years before featuring on a Kanye song
How did ice cube get in the 1st round twice in a row? And how is he gonna pick dr. Dre over cube the 1st time but then take cube over dre when they are matched up the second time. And please explain to me what thinking process he used to pick the artists he choose and who to match up with who.....🤔🤔🤔
I like how Andre won but how you gonna pick Jay over Lupe? That too Kanye over Ghostface? Like yeah Kanye the better musician but Ghostface is a better rapper. Being a better musician doesn’t always mean being the better rapper.
Are kidding me. People do not like DMX because he called out same sex men. Andre three thousand has about three hits. X had one album two number one albums in the same year. X is a finalist and if he is not then credibility is lost.
