You know now that I think of it, there is no reason for a ratcheting end to have a 12 point, since the catching mechanism can adjust to any position. They should all be like this!

While i hope they bring these back im pretty sure they stopped because warranty issues. 6 point can impart a lot more force and are easier to break things, so then it comes down to rachet or the fastener.

@@schlosser_8601 Why do you think the 6 pt are all on clearance or 20% off? They are following suit and going with the 12 pt. The consensus shows that 12 pt is what’s driving the market. I can’t wait to order a 8/10 flex ratcheting wrench.

@@amazinggrace831 it’s pretty obvious why they’re on clearance and it even says it on their website. They’re not able to produce those wrenches in an economical way with the current supply chain. They even sent out a email about it way back when. You can always look it up. Just because they’re discontinuing their current line doesn’t mean they’re going 12 point. In my opinion 12 point tools have no business being used on a 6 point fastener anyways

@@schlosser_8601 Why the discount? Regardless of the supply chain issue or cost to produce why drop the price of the ratcheting wrenches ONLY? I think they are going in the same direction as the rest of the industry. I wish they made a max grip open end like Milwaukee. 🧰👨🏻‍🔧

Ya ok but you shouldn't be putting that much force on a ratchet wrench anyway so I he twelve point seems more practical that's how you break them if they really was going out of stock then you wouldn't use it hard anyway it's not meant for you to put crazy pressure on them

It's more about rounding the bolt head or nut off. 12 points will round them off way before a 6 point will. 22 years of professional mechanicing I have both and the 6 points have never let me down. Since the head ratchets, there no real reason for 12 point on these. 12 point was made for regular box end wrenches so you could get on the head easier without having to turn it a lot.
