Hi, I am new to using Miyoo Mini Plus. I do have Onion OS 4.3 installed but I do not see the GB/GBC/GBA Perfect overlays. I do see a Perfect CRT and Perfect CRT noframe under 4x3, but nothing for the GB/GBC/GBA in any of their respective overlay folders. Did they put it somewhere else from where you have yours or name it something else? I'm stumped here. Thank you in advance.
Hmm, it looks like they put them in their own folders. If you look on the left side of this link, it shows where they would be located. github.com/OnionUI/Onion/pull/1436/files I am unsure if you updated from a previous version of Onion to 4.3; that might be the reason if so. You can still manually add them using this video. It would probably work if you installed a fresh copy of 4.3; just make sure to back up your stuff if you do that.
@@PhyrexTechs Thank you so much for your help! I appreciate it.! Yes, I got my miyoo mini + from Litnxt,. One of the first things I did was do an in-place upgrade over wi-fi to 4.3. It appears that I have none of those overlays. I will try to follow the directions here to add them or reinstall 4.3 from scratch. I do have my entire card backed up, so that might be a good idea. Thanks, again.
thanks for the excellent tutorials! between this and the 200 doom ports the wait for my rgb30 will be like a vacation 🤣 in the past was using different filters with similar results, Dot_Matrix_3x_GB_Greenscale_Grid for dmg and Grid3x for gbc but these new overlays do look great, more defined & authentic
Yeah, I saw he released that right after I finished the video. Wish I had waited one more day and then I could have added it to this video. But it's all good I will make another one for GBA shortly.
Yeah, here you go. www.reddit.com/r/MiyooMini/comments/18ovuld/i_made_a_game_boy_advance_overlay/ I have not had time to make a video on it, but its should be a similar process and he has the instructions in the post.
Retroarch has some confusing ways to save things. Just make sure if you are saving core settings to use Manage Core Settings and for other things use the Overrides Menu from the quick menu.
Awesome!!! 🤩 Worked like a charm on my Miyoo Mini Plus running Onion OS 4.3.0. - Now here's a challenge: Because this is pure RetroArch stuff and RA runs on many other platforms I'd love to see a video for how to achieve the same on muOS running on my Anbernic RG35XX+! 😉 RA seems to be setup totally different there, no such folders you mention in your video here. So I'm currently struggling but would love to have the same effect on the 35xx+ ... Challenge accepted?
I have been working on something like this for the RGxx device group. There is not one clear winner for me like with the MMP ones. I have been trying to get a decent amount that people can choose from. So challenge accepted!!
For someone like me that does not like overlays what interpolation option would you recommend for the mini plus to get the most balanced pixels while still looking sharp?
These are added in Onion but when I for the DMG dark horse I can’t get the color to look less yellow. I changed GB colorization to custom and it still looks yellow. In the video it changes yours to more green. Any suggestions?
You can set it to what it would look playing a normal Game Boy game on a Game Boy Color. It may look odd with the overlay but all you have to do is go to Core Settings and set GB Colorization to Internal instead of Custom. Then set Current category color to Multicolor or you can try others also. You can then use L2 and R2 to try the different colors
They only way I know that anything like that can be done is just with the overrides. So you can have certain overlays for specific games or systems. The only other way is just to switch them out in the overlay preset menu.
Here is the link It is sold out at the moment but comes back in stock regularly www.etsy.com/listing/1215555181/nintendo-gameboy-label-aufkleber-sticker?show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details
If you mean the display colors you should be able to change those from the Settings>Display. If you mean in the retroarch settings you need to set GB colorization to Custom/ External file. If you mean the file that goes into bios I think you still need download and drag that over like I did at 2:09.
@@PhyrexTechs Oh, now i could download it ! :-) Thanks! But why there is no colorisation-bios-file on the stock Onion 4.3? The Overlays in your files are also not the same frames!
Not sure why they didn't add the bios file to Onion 4.3. Then the overlays I share with the drkhrse bezels, I combined those myself. The ones added to the 4.3 update are the original 1playerinsertcoin overlays.
Hello, i really like the black borders but i hate the filters, because they make the games much darker. Is there a way to keep the borders only? Thank you
