Thank you so much for sharing! I picked up the Mounting Dream Stands for my Samsung HW- Q700A rear kit, the SWA-9500s, and I'm very happy with the fit, finish, and ease of assembly. Thank you for saving me hrs of research!!
@@archwaytech A question. At 2:10 you said that speaker which hanging over the front put an unnecessary stress on center column. But you've showed a stand with straight column how wobbles. How about stand with curved column? Does speaker wobble on that kind stand because speaker is hanging over the front? Asking because does the curved part of the column compensate the weight of the speakers and does it the wobbling then? Speaker is hanging a little more "behind"
Just got these stands for my LG S95QR. They don’t seem to work as the LG’s don’t have any rear keyholes. All it has is one threaded cavity on the center bottom of the speaker.
These are great stands. I used a pair for the rear speakers on a Sony HT-A9 system and then again on a Samsung HW-990C. I painted the stands to match the Sony speakers and they look and work beautifully. It should also be noted the feet are adjustable if you have an uneven floor (and I very much did).
i'm just deciding between whether wall mount my rear, or use a speaker stand. Wall mounting is permanent, but much cleaner... But speaker stands... are so much more versatile... Might go with the speaker stands...
Do these also fit the latest Samsung Q990B rear speakers? Do Samsung also sell longer speaker power cables as suggested in this video. Thanks, Bruce from New Zealand
Thanks mate these are the ones I've been looking for, solid review. Edit: Looks like "Eono Speaker Stand Height Adjustable" are the same OEM if anyone is looking to try and find a better price or cheaper shipping.
Thank you so much for the great suggestion for speaker stands! After watching your video, I went into Amazon and canceled my order for the speaker stands I had ordered before seeing your video. I was about to make a big mistake. I have now ordered the ones you suggested. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm going to pick up the mounting dream for the detachable speakers of the JBL bar 800. I'm surprised JBL themselves don't sell rear speaker stands like these for their soundbar range. Edit: I'm in Australia and these are $190 AUD ($120 USD) 😮💨 Unfortunately I can't see any other comparable options on Google, so I'll probably still go for them 😅
@@archwaytech they arrived sooner then expected and they are AWESOME!! Very stable and nice design, so easy to set up and mount my samsung q950a perfectly! Thank you!
Thanks a lot for this review! I'm looking for good stands for my JBL 9.1 speakers that will be placed between the wall and the sofa. There is only about 8cm space between those though, so the stand should have flat feet and thin body. Do you have any suggestions? And BTW what cables did you use for the rear speakers of your JBL? Thanks!
@@archwaytech thanks for the reply! Is there a difference between the MD 5402 and the 5402-2? I've got them both up on Amazon right now one is just double the price lol
Thanks for your videos. I purchased the Q950A 11.1.4 Samsung system. I will purchase the extended cables you linked below. Can I get additional front speakers for this system? If so which would you recommend?
What is the Code for this Mounting Dream model as there are several on their website? Also no answer to my question re if they fit the new Samsung Q990B Soundbar.
It's this model here: geni.us/u5AzF And yes, it works with the Q990B. I show them in my Q990B Review Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NZQbczX2zSk.html
What cable plug brand would you recommend for the 2021 Samsung 9500 rear speaker sets? As I’ve just got them and the power cables provided are too short.
I suppose you could put the 950a speakers on the Sonos speaker stands but it’s not designed for it. If you’ve got a 950 then get the Mounting Dream Stands. Cheers
I've been looking for a stylish speaker stand for my Samsung Q990B (Europe), but I'm having a hard time finding one. There's a universal deluxe speaker stand that is... about 78 centimeters tall and that's slightly too low. It looks pretty nice with the wooden look. But you also can't mount your speaker on it. And there's also the Vebos stand which seems sorta like an official one (but it's not official). Still, with 80 cm I feel like it's slightly too low (I think 83-87 or so would be ideal). And it's all black and metal-looking. Not awful or anything, but... it's basically the second best one I've found. Neither of them has adjustable height. And in fact, just about any speaker stand that has the right kind of adjustable height is pretty hideous, I can't let those things ruin my stylish living room. Anyhow, it's either function or form. Anything with wood or a wood-like look kinda fails the functionality part and has no mounting. Anything with adjustable height and mounting is just hideous (that I've seen). And then there's 1 stand that has mounting and isn't completely hideous... but has no adjustable height and is slightly too low by default. It's a dilemma, really. I also don't want to use spikes. I need it to be stable and don't want to risk damaging my floor (I know there's spike shoes, but that still doesn't solve the stability issue). I don't really care about the decoupling from the floor, I'm not an audiophile and the rear speakers from the Q990B aren't large enough for it to make a major difference. I'd walk past it quite a few times to open the curtain and having it stand on an unstable stand is a huge risk for me.
I am in the same boat. There is also XXL version of Vebos which is 100cm, but that seems to be too high. The mounting dream seems to be best for versatility - adjustable high and option to also mount any type of speakers in the future. I can actually get it cheaper than the Vebos one. From the videos/images it looks fine to me. What didi you got in the end?
@@Atavius1 Ultimately I went with that KD15751 deluxe speaker stand or something (translating from Dutch). I dunno if they have the same name in English. Their height can't be adjusted and I feared they were a bit too low even after measuring before purchase, but they're actually the perfect height. They look pretty nice as well.
@@thenonexistinghero Ik heb hetzelfde probleem. Net een mooie speaker gekocht, maar nergens een stand te vinden. Door je comment kreeg ik wel de juiste website te pakken. Heb de iets goedkopere variant, werkt hetzelfde. Thanks
@@archwaytech None yet. Just was thinking I'd prefer to have some bookshelf speakers that can be properly affixed to the stands rather than having to use double sided tape or blu tack.
Hey Josh. Brilliant video mate. Currently been pulling my hair out looking for stands for the Q950A. Which particular model from Mounting Dream were you reviewing? Is one particular model more preferable from them than another? I think supply issues could be in play as well currently. If so any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Norm Melbourne, Australia
Hey Norm, have you had any luck? I actually can't understand why a company like Samsung would product rear speakers without producing any rear stands. I just had a go with some sonus stands but they didn't work as the samsung screw is placed higher up
@@michaelkennedy9064 not yet Michael. Have tried everywhere so far, and agree 101% re Samsung not only not offering anything, but they can't even recommend anything through their support network. It's rather frustrating to say the least.
@Josh dimovski If you're wanting to conseal a power cord through the centre column then the MD5042-2 are best (The MD5041 has a 0.2“ W x 0.3” H cable hole whereas the MD5042-2 has 0.8“ W x 1.73" H) but if you're using speaker wire and want the height then the MD5401 will work. Also, the MD5042-2 can hold larger speakers and will be more sturdy overall. Hope this helps.
@@archwaytech yes thankyou. I ended up buying the Samsung q990b soundbar and I still need to buy speaker stands . The MD5042-2 speakers would fit with the speaker being just enough hight for behind my lounge, just at ear level . The hight would be maxed out on those . I do prefer the MD5042-2 but the ability to adjust up to 48 inches with the other speakers would be nice . 😂
Hey guys, I'm also after some good stands for the HW-Q950A/XY rear spakers. Ideally aluminum/steel and cable management. Would the Sanus WSSA2B2 be ok ~A$220 pair? Those Mounting Dreams look ok, will have to see how much to source a pair. Cheers. Ps. Wonder if old/new version of the Mounting Dream matters.. bit long delivery time on some and a lot more than $50 .. ($229-250 is a bit rich)
Those Sanus stands would work with the Play 3 attachment as it gives a flat area for the speaker to sit on but it won't be securely attached to the stand. These Mounting Dream ones have the exact attachment for the Q950a Rear Speakers so can be fastened to the stand. I got mine shipped from the US store to NZ for a total of A$120 for the pair so pretty good price. You can get them here: geni.us/u5AzF
@@archwaytech Hi mate, glad i checked this thread again and saw your response. That price sounds good and the Mounting Dream ones sound perfect. It was the Amazon AU prices that were a blatant rip-off. No international prime shipping but A$132 sounds good all the same, will order now! thanks.
@Archway Tech the speaker stands showed up and installed, pretty good quality and suit the Q950a speakers 100%. Not as cheap as they should have been but these days shipping probably costs as much as the product from the States. It seem like the supplied bolt doesn't screw all the way into the speaker, and/or you could do with another plastic spacer between the bracket and speaker, or even replace with a black bolt. No dramas and are pretty secure (recommend pulling down slighly whilst tightening up the two bolts on the rear bracket. cheers,
If I buy samsung Q900 A system and add SWA9500s-- it will become 11.1.4 system from 7.1.2, is that right? reason I am trying to do this is, it saves me $200.00 than purchasing q950A system. if some one can answer this.
If you want rear speakers i'd go for the Q950A... The SWA series of rear speakers are nothing like the ones that come with the Q950A and are much weaker and cheaper feeling. Hope this helps 😀
No because the SWA9500s a missing a driver- they have 2 only and the rears that come with the Q950A have 3. Front firing, top firing (Atmos) and an additional new side firing driver.
Wow thanks for the quick reply 😃. One last question I just thought of, I will require an extension cord, so do you think the bulky part of the extension cord can be hid underneath the stand?
Same here in NZ... The shipping's the same price as the Stands 😞 I still reckon they're good for that price tho. Not much else on the market that's designed to hold soundbar rear speakers.
Thanks for the heads up. They are very popular and go out of stock all the time so they mustn't be able to keep up with production hence the price increase. Still a great price compared to the competition.
@@archwaytech for sure, this video was exactly what I was looking for and I will still likely pair this up with my Samsung SWA-9500S like you did. Thanks again!
Either of those prices would be better than A$228 now! Can't see how they have increased in price that much in 4 months just for a generic brand. I only paid about $250 for my good ultimate stands (but that was years ago).
@@edwardsorensen5142 147.50 for a pair- got them from Vebos Spain (also got some extra long cables for the 2 rear speakers from them which they threw in for free). You could try the various Vebos European websites or Vebos UK see if they will ship them to you.
