I also grew up as a Jehovah's Witness and I don't know if my family was more relaxed about things or what but some of the experiences Kelsey T spoke about were so wild. I agree with Mama Shay about the holidays and school parties, we weren't allowed those and that was isolating for sure. However, we were allowed and encouraged to go to college and play sports and hang out with whoever. It's so interesting how some people approach religion in all denominations cause when she was talking about her experience to Joey, I was like wow, what religion is that hahahah I am also no longer a JW

Mama Shay for both! This week was a little different. I got definite undertaker vibes from Jesse at the Rose Ceremony. Actually, funeral vibes from Joey, as well, in his black suit. I wonder if that’s a look at things to come. Y’all knew Maria wasn’t going anywhere.
Well I got fooled by the wig!! lol. I own 10 wigs I sometimes wear because my left hand isn’t fully functional so styling my hair is difficult plus it’s fun to have different color hair every week!
I think where Maria lost it was SEEING Jenn kiss Joey. It's one thing to know they're going on dates with other people but to see them kiss someone else gives them a huge reality check. Up until then you can imagine yours is the best connection. Group dates at this point seems almost cruel to the contestants, and you need a huge amount of strength to go through that. Maria messed up , imo. How does she recover in Joey's eyes after that ? Let alone become the next Bachelorette, as a lot of us would wish.
I was in Mama Shay's mom's side of the "Not a JW" thing. Divorce after 30 years of marriage and even longer as a JW. As a little kid, the holiday difference looms very large, but as an adult, I felt the loss more in losing culture and community. I applaud Mama Shay, her mama and Kelsey T for their courage, and embrace them in the sisterhood that is outside of the JW brotherhood.
Maria was trying to play the push/pull games and Joey was over it. She’s ok for paradise but idk about bachelorette now. Both of you have kids so maybe you’ve seen the Pixar film Luca. Every time I see Joey I think of that movie he looks like a grown up Luca.
Great review as always! Regarding Mama Shay's hair: I was thinking, oh my god, how is her hair that shiny? What is her secret? Then to find out it's a wig, so funny! You two sure are a chip off the old block!
We don't see what happens off camera (or what didn't make it into the show) but I think that Rachel listens to what he says/does and then repeats it back to him claiming she knows that because she knows him so well and it gets in his head that way. (Like if his stomach growls, she would say, "I know you well enough to know it means you're hungry! I know you!"

20:12 when I watched this show live (first time in a while) for the final rose -- Jesse walks in, stands next to Joey, and I blurt out in the silence "Ladies, Joey, this is the final rose tonight" ....nailed it! I was so proud of myself.
That was an awesome watch, Ry had me bursting out laughing at the start, almost choked on my drink. 🤣🤣 And it's always awesome to have Mama Shay with you, and my vote goes to HOMETOWNS! I want to see her react to Maria's father saying "Joey's gonna have a problem", should sound off the JW alarm bell. Also, thanks for the shoutout! Swedish fan of yours for years now! (And it was pronounced perfectly by you Whit.)
Just now getting the notification for this! Looking forward to your thoughts; I love how Daisy communicated how she was/wasn’t feeling and didn’t play it up to stay. Not a fan of how Maria handled her possible insecurity, there’s a possibility it wasn’t completely genuine. But time will tell for everyone involved.

I can see this too now you’ve pointed it out. David Essex is worth a google. He’s English, gave up a promising football career for singing,songwriting, acting. Many top of the charts songs from mid 1970’s-1990 ish, been a lead in major stage shows. A heart throb in the same Donny Osmond era 😂.

Going to keep my same theme; I love you two. I love not watching Bachelor and just watching the recaps. I use to like Maria but she is too wishy washy for Bachelorette. She would do good on Paradise but only if someone chases her. I love Daisy but not for Joey.
I actually agree with Ry. I am not sure the producers will like this for Maria as bachelorette. But the rallying cry for her is huge - people want more of her. So we’ll have to see!
