That's awesome man! Fellow river rat.. I got a home made forge and anvil, tried my hand at banging on steel for a little while lol. Yea that tubing is cheap and works great. Thanks for watching and for the comment! 👍🏻

It really is. Fishing in the coosa is where it comes thru our property is a nightmare. I've lost so many rigs getting snagged on the rocks that it's criminal. This is a great idea.

Great Video. It’s always nice to give other Fishermen a Heads up on a Good Rig they may not know about. I learned the same Rig from my Father back in the 60s. It also works really good in Salt Water if you’re bottom Fishing. New Subscriber from Texas. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.👍👍

That's an excellent rig and I've used it for years. When I was a kid sinkers, especially large ones, came dear but we had a pretty much limitless supply of old spark plugs and bits of rusted metal in usable chunks. We used many an old spark plug or scrap iron harnessed or bagged to make a sinker. Used old socks, feed bags or anything else to make a sinker bag. I've even used rocks from the bank.

Great video and informative I use this rig often with lots of success. I also use Santee rig as well. I use beads between the hook and rattles and floats . Awesome idea of using vacuum line to space the rattles out much more cost effective and line protection.I also like how you added 2 rattles I will definitely have to try 2 instead of 1. I’m from Warsaw Missouri area I use that style of rig on Truman reservoir and lake . I Also fish Mississippi River in Alton dam on the Missouri side and in Washington Missouri access. Mississippi River sure is fun to fish. I will check out your other videos to thanks for the good content. 👍

Be honest bro, did you pick this tip up from a surf fisherman? It's pretty much how I tackle a dirty area (pilings, rocks and other old pier debris), in front of Patrick Air Force Base here in Brevard Fl. Tite lines amigo!
@test_GOTO_RaidrpgDOTnet
@test_GOTO_RaidrpgDOTnet Год назад
Nice trick. I have another question - whenever I do the knotless knot it doesn't really stick. if I push the line back into the hook the knot just crumles, what am I doing wrong?
@FishinNFreedom1776
@FishinNFreedom1776 Год назад
Hey Dan, first thanks for checking out the video! I have had the same thing happen when making channel cat rigs or dragging rigs with 50lb leader line Berkley big game to be exact. I noticed when I use bigger leader I think it gives a little more for the line to bite onto. Like 80lb or in the river I use 100lb leader. May try just going up a little on line size see if that helps. Also are you using straight shank or octopus " bent " eye hooks?
@AdrenalineTurkeyCall
@AdrenalineTurkeyCall Год назад
I e fished a 3 way rig similar to that before but never with the rattle system. Are the rattles buoyant? Are they very productive if you don’t have much current flowing? I’ve never used a rattle system except for bass fishing but I’m interested.
@FishinNFreedom1776
@FishinNFreedom1776 Год назад
Thanks for checking out the video.. even if there is not much current those rattles still make a racket, and they do really seem to get the fish's attention and get more strikes. I have no data to back that up but from personal experience and hearing others in the Catfish world that I respect, that seem to be the case. Alot of folks won't fish without them. They are slightly buoyant, which helps to some degree to keep your bait up off the bottom. Give em a try let me know if you have any luck or notice any difference. Thanks again

Good video buddy. I never thought about using the vacuum line near my hook , that may be a good way to keep those big cat from fraying up your line also. Where do you fish. I'm in NC and fish Norman and Wylie most of the time
@FishinNFreedom1776
@FishinNFreedom1776 Год назад
Never thought about it protecting the leader line from the tooth pads either! That's a great point! I fish the Mississippi River in southeast Missouri. Bait depends on time of year and water temp. Late spring and summer-early fall Skipjack, Mooneye are my favorite. And carp and Buffalo do pretty good. Late fall and all through the winter it's shad. I use 40lb main line. Berkly Big game mono
