I also do the "tearing of the rubberdam" to help me re-orient it after taking a radiograph. But instead of tearing it, I use my rubberdam punch to punch a hole on the upper left corner. Cleaner and easier :)
Hey doc! Great video! My unsolicited 2 cents. My setup includes a nylon rubber dam frame and I never take the frame off to take X-rays. This is more efficient and maintains isolation! No more fumbling with reorienting the dam after X-rays!
I got a trick! We used to be taught to tie the rubber dam up using a floss after you remove the frame (like Santa Claus's gift bag). But it was cumbersome and the knot usually loosens. I recently came up with using another rubber dam clamp to clamp down the "rubber dam bag opening". I will collect the 4 corners and fold/roll them up into thickness, makes it easy to clamp. Works like a charm fast and easy.
