There's a lot of misinformation about microStretching out there. The term was first used by Nikos Apostolopoulos back in the 90's. "microStretching is a recovery-regeneration technique of the connective tissues. The fundamental aim is to correct any negative physical changes created by training loads and previous injuries." Essentially, it's passive stretching done at very low intensities, which is great for cooling down. As for track athletes, such as sprinters and jumpers, any stretching done during the cool down should be very low intensity so microStretching would be appropriate for this. * Disclaimer: I'm not an expert on microStretching, so if someone has some more information to add please feel free to do so.
