I bought the upgraded ruger BX trigger assembly for like $50 - $60 a few years ago. Honestly, I’m not sure how much more all these expensive ones are actually giving you (real world feel). Theres a huge difference between the factory 10/22 trigger assembly and the BX assembly, for not a ton of money.

Bought my 10/22 in 1970 ($49.00). Up until about 10 years ago still had stock factory trigger. It was like grinding two rocks together. Broke down and bought a timney, and it was as smooth as butter and broke like glass. After a few hundred rounds it was harder to pull, but still broke nice. Just went off the deep end and ordered a tg. 2000 volquartzen. Hope it lasts better than the timney. It's hard to spend 5 time's more on on the trigger than the rifel cost 😩

Everyone thinks pull weight matters. It doesn't really. It's the travel that makes one fast or slow. For Steel Challenge, I'm looking to replace the stock trigger on my 10/22 Stainless Takedown for RFPI. It's just too long of a pull to go fast. My TCR/22 I use for RFRO has a much better stock trigger with no need to upgrade.

So, when you go to “catch” the hammer by pushing back on it, you took weight off of the trigger and fudged the results. Once I saw that and saw the weights of the six different triggers roughly the same, I knew then that this was not a very good test. It would have been a perfect test but you can’t interfere with the mechanics like that. Bummer, such a good setup and video to have potentially tampered results like that.

I agree. No 10/22 trigger roundup is complete without Kidd triggers present. I have all of Kidd's triggers, and the 6 ounce 2-stage is the finest trigger I have ever pulled. The complete single stage trigger is very nice if you like a single stage trigger, but I also have the Kidd "trigger kit" that you install in your factory housing, and it is just as good as the complete single stage, but half the price. Neither compares at all to the 2-stage unit though.

I was thinking of spending the cost of the Volquartsen....or maybe KIDD,...but those Hornet Triggers appear to be decent and about $100 less. Again, not aluminum, and still use the really curved trigger, though. Yes, I know changing out the trigger group will make the T/CR22 no longer hold open on the last shot. I don't care. @James clark Was that necessary? I don't think he was saying fuck Kidd for not giving it to him for free. I'm sure he doesn't want to buy one just for testing. Why don't you loan your Kidd trigger to him for testing instead of being asshole? Also, it's spelled "millennial", dipshit.

@James clark What an absolutely arrogant prick. Im talking about you here, not the guy offering to test and compile data that greatly influences trigger purchases with an unbelievably expensive piece of equipment and asks only for a loaner sample for the test. Get fucked you absolute bastard.

I never said to give it to me, a loaner would be appropriate in this situation, but sorry I’m not going to buy every trigger out there a take my time to do the testing. Also I’m not an amateur, I’ve been in the industry for 10 years and have been paid for my media work for years. I don’t need your validation.

@@ZackCarlson Gotcha, good to know. I was mostly curious what people think about the Jard trigger in a 10/22, as I have used their triggers on multiple other platforms over the years. Seems like people either hate or love their triggers. I was curious where they stack up analytically to other proven triggers. Very interesting info on the triggers tested though.

Buy Ruger 1022 $400, buy replacement trigger $130+ , replace barrel$400 or just buy an Anschutz 1400 series for $ 1400 and shoot smaller groups then you will ever shoot with any Ruger 1022.EVER.

Exactly right. After wasting a lot of time and money on 3 10/22 rebuilds, I wised up and bought an MPR 64. The Rugers collect dust now as they have no resale value. No one wants to buy someone else's custom job. I will never sell the Anschutz. I did have fun building the Rugers but consistently shooting tiny groups is a lot more fun. Live and learn...
@jimenright318
@jimenright318 3 года назад
@@ZackCarlson The 10/22 is a reliable utility rifle with a clever design. It was never meant to be a target rifle even with the many attempts to accurize it. One action screw, an aluminum receiver hosting a clamped steel barrel in a sleeve and a spring loaded blowback bolt invite inconsistency. I understand the lure to accessorize and so do those who make a living selling accessories. I have fallen prey to it. At the end of the day, I want to shoot consistent, tiny groups. My Anschutz MPR 64 does exactly that and i would challenge anyone with any 10/22 build at the range with confidence.

If u put any pressure on the hammer like u did to start this test it isn’t valid any weight on the hammer will reduce trigger pull you basically reduced the hammer spring it’s a thumbs down from me it would also explain the shape of your graph

My old metal hasn't been factory internals in a long time so I can't comment but I've read a lot that the new plastic housings are way more consistent compared to the old metal ones.
