It is so nice of you to take your time to repeat every step when placing the same blocks in the same place and order. Some guides skip that and I totally understand why but it does make following the guide a bit harder. Great content.
I just built this yesterday and I have a few tips for anyone struggling: 1.) If you are having trouble with the chunk loader, you dont actually need one. I built a platform underneath the obsidean in the end and used a hopper minecart to collect the sand. I then connected the minecart to other hoppers that led to chests. With this method you have to afk in the portal room. You have to turn the machine off before entering the end 2.) Im on a paper server and I had to download a plug in that allowed me to dup sand. So I recommend checking your server settings if the sand isn't falling in the end 3.) If one side of the machine is working but the others are not, then you can try adding another chunk loader on the opposite side of the build. This method did NOT work for me. However, this is what my friend on a different server did to fix his. FYI when i tried this it caused my build to break when I entered the end and I had to rebuild. So be super careful if you try this method
Hey only one side works for me to but I’m in the same dimension when I test it so I’m pretty sure it’s a different issue, have you found any solution since the month that you posted this fyi I’m on spigot
Just built this in my hardcore world in 1.19.2. It works great! My two shovels can finally breathe a sigh of relief, for the days of scooping up desert sand is behind me. One piece of advice for those playing hardcore, and/or those who are paranoid about the void, you can use the end island to bridge to underneath your obsidian platform. I used that to create a nice slab platform about 6 blocks under the obsidian (lower-half slabs so that enderman can't spawn. Plenty of space to set up some extra double-chests to expand storage. To those who would look down on sand-duping, I would say this: without a sand-duper, sand is a non-renewable resource in Minecraft. As someone who loves his Minecraft world, must I really resort to decimating the natural beauty of my world's deserts? I have plans for cool desert builds, and don't want to fly 1000s of blocks away to some desert far off, when I might want to explore those chunks later in a future update. Anyways, I've made my case. Great farm, great instructions! I have about 2 double chests full of sand in the time it took me to write this.
I built this farm with a working auto storage system for sand, gravel and every colour of concrete. Which took me two to three hours to finish. Thank You for this tutorial
For those having trouble with the chunk loader, it's directional. Try rotating it 90 degrees. Mine wouldn't work facing west but did facing south. 30 minutes I won't get back but hey, live and learn right?
Thank you! - perfect video to follow - just build it in 1.19.4 in my HC world - works fine just make sure that your chunk loader works - or you have to redo
Whole thing works, but 2 notes: 1. The chunk-loader needs to be in the same chunk as the on-switch of the duper 2. For the purpose of collection I found having multiple rows of hoppers going into multiple chests works better than the single line; i.e. upon breaking upon the buttons, the sand blocks can also land on adjacent squares, and splitting it like that keeps it from stalling.
You can remove the buttons, remove the hopper and then put a halfslab with water in it and let them all come together and transport it to a sorting system.
Great Tutorial. I loved how i could almost always copy your hotbar and therefore always had the right items. I also loved how you build it rather slowly so that i could just keep the video running while building in some parts. Fantastic job.
little tip that helped a lot in building.. if youre already build a haste II beacon for clearing it all up, set it to jump II so you can reach the upper parts of the dupper easier, while building it
I just finished building this and it works great only problem I had was getting the chunk loader to work. I ended up using illmango's 1.19 chunk loader design and it finally worked. other than that this was a great guide that was easy to follow. keep it up!
Works great as an obsidian farm too. Stick a hopper and a chest under one corner of the end platform and mine all you want. One block of sand in the duper is plenty too.
Just built in 1.20.1 (as advertised) and it works beautifully. You 100% need to upgrade storage. It is also super important to have the chunk loader on when turning the farm on or it'll break. Mine did at least.
Works well but when AFK, look down or wear a carved pumpkin because the enderman can get in your line of sight and they may attack you so you come back from AFK to see that you were slained by a enderman
I just finished making the old one in my survival world. I think it's sufficient. Don't want to AFK for a minute longer and lag the freak out of my world. Though, this is perfect for a server with a lot of people working with Glass, Concrete, TNT, etc.
Kelp, this would be a very big project but I think its something tutorial youtube needs and you could lead us to victory. Have you ever considered making a tutorial for an ultimate storage system? something that stores every item and has shulker box unloading etc
It's a big project, but it's a really good idea. Definitely I will consider the possibility of make that video. I can't promise that will be my next video, but I will make that video soon!
What a coincidence we just completed our fully automatic ultimate storage system project in our server, and it took almost 3.5 week's although we are only two people on our server releted to this project.. but but now I see why its took soo long cuz its look absolutely amazing.
@@frier9331 yeah ive actually built that using his guide, but I am more suggesting something that is a storage system for everything, a main storage is probably a better word. Where you would keep items of all kinds in one place
@@panda_playzzz make sure the repeaters are on the correct tick setting, i flicked one by accident and spent so long figuring out why a slime block would get pushed out of place lol
Not gonna lie, I have not built this. I have not gathered the resources. I have not even noted something down. But I appreciate the pacing of the video; The fact that no section is sped up 5x - with block-by-block examples of distance (The fact that you even visualized distance with black and white blocks show you know people need to *SEE* it and count it easier than to triple-check over and over "Is the roof 3 away? 3 away from frame height or 3 above it?" etc), showing ( *even if it's repetition!* ) the step-by-step process to build a complicated machine. 10/10. I don't even know if it truly works in the version/server I'm in, but it's gonna be built eventually. Thank you for this well thought-out tutorial. I could care less if it's 10+ more minutes than some other tutorial, if I don't have to go back 20-30 seconds, pause, go frame-by-frame just to count from above or the side (because lord knows tutorial creators never keep repeating *HOW BIG* X thing is, or how high it should be) - it's a solid damn tutorial. 😄 Also a tip for anybody making some damn tutorial: Do not use a bloody texture pack that *blends blocks together* ... You have no idea how many tutorials I come across with beautiful glass, or ice, or "simplistic" slime/honey/etc that makes it near impossible to count it. Let - me (and anyone else) - *count it* during any section of the video. 😠
I can't get more than one side of the farm to work. The droppers being connected to both the slime and honey locks up the pistons that push inwards, when the pistons that pull downwards activate it pulls the first set of pistons and their adjacent redstone blocks down and they get stuck there, causing the machine to break. If I get rid of the droppers the first side will run, but the other sides all destroy their sand. Saw another user with the same issue say it was directional, but I get the same results in all 4 directions. I ended up modifying the build to make each side the same as the powered side in the video, all activated by one redstone signal, with pairs offset by three ticks. Works great. That being said, fantastic tutorial! The pacing was really good and the lack of jump cuts made it clear and easy to follow.
I play in 1.20 on a hypixel server and i build it twice times and it works, the chunk loader and the duper, but when i go to the end nothing happens , and when I go back just the half machin works and the chunkloader is broken. Why?
Hypixel doing something to it, possibly running a version of the server jar that patched sand dupes amongst other bugs (of which, Mojang won't fix themselves because they're just so useful)
Hey all, I forgot to turn on the chunk loaded and the fix ended up being relatively easy: For me- all horizontal facing sticky pistons and redstone blocks connected to the lower/inner row of honey and slime blocks (one's Kelp begins placing at around 4:45ish) were pushed down one block. I also replaced the falling blocks on top of the glass in the overworld and the slime/honey blocks in that bottom/inner area so not sure that made any difference as well. That pretty much solved the problem without having to restart from the top! Also thanks for the awesome sand duper and clear build guide!
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN RUNNING THIS ON REALMS!!! This sand duper, if left unattended will make your end unenterable without mods if the entities gather up. Make sure you are always in the dimension when running the machine, and don't allow the sand to gather up.
Yes it happened to me. I left the machine on and when I went into the end, my game crashed. Btw if this happens to you guys try deleting your world//DIM-1/entities folder so the entities will be gone. If you have an enderman farm you will have to respawn your endermite and that's all.
@@Germi123re I face the same problem but even if i delete the folder But my game still crashes it says "Errors in currently selected datapacks prevented the world from loading. You can either try to load it with only the vanilla data pack ("safe mode") or go back to the title screen to manually fix it" Do you have any suggestions? Now I'm losing my world
Tip for everyone if any of the sides of the farm stop working and not throwing sand about all you have to do is replace the sand on the farm in the overworld
@@Acolyte7 bro i had this problem and i fixed it you need to rebuild the lower part only the redstone block and the piston which has three slime blocks above and the glass with observer next to them. dont rebuild the redstone lamp and the piston with redstone block next to it . Hope it helps i spend like 45 mins trying to fix it
Great duper! However, hoppers can process 9000 items/h, so if each side produces 18k per hour, you would need a faster collection system EDIT: as pointed out, I'm dumb, I missed a hopper in the building process
Really good Tutorial! For me as an absolute Noob, it really easy to build. I built it in Snapshot 23w13a and it works just fine, so it should Work in 1.20
Umm so it worked for few secs...when got to the end,it stopped after 5-10 sec...I thought the chunk loader broke up...but when I back to the duper it was all twisted up...pistons,slime blocks, etc.everything was dislocated...I was not in the mood of rebuilding the whole thing but I tried fixing it...but I couldn't...so I nuked it away 💣
It works great! This really saved my sanity because its 4:30 am right now and if it didn't work I would've gone insane. Edit: The only hard part was gathering the honey blocks
I have a question about this build: 1:he slime seems to break a strip of the room's wall and move it back and forth, is that an issue, or intended/needed, or? Thanks in advance, and thanks for a great instructional video!
I love the way how you take the Viewer into count in your Video so every thing is well thought out so everyone can understand and rebuild, love it keep it up!
Ok, seems like the chunk loader could be making an issue since its outside the chunk area to the build partly. Only the side with the lever and redstone light works after I go to into the portal an back again. The machine works great until the portal and spawn back to the overworld, then the machine will be faulty and need rebuilding. To avoid this I just reloaded the backup world and put it on without chunk loader and afk'd while another account collected the sand in the end. Also the sand wont spew into collection system, so it needed to be collected manually on Paper v 1.19.4 server with gravitycontrol plugin.
Had to rebuild this twice due to the chunk loader. The machine itself works great, just make sure that the chunk loader is rotated 90° counter-clockwise, and in the same chunk as the on switch.
Make sure chunk loaders work in that server. Try using a friend in the overworld close to the farm as chunk loader. If the farm works, that means the chunk loader isn't working. Probably the server has disabled chunk loaders to reduce lag
That's why they said to turn it off. Doesn't have to be realms. It can be any server or even single player. Don't ever leave an fully afk loaded full time. Especially with a chunk loader keeping it on even if you forget about it.
1.19.4 _ I tried rotating the loader like @Darren Rawlings hinted about, but still did not work, so I did this: 1. Made sure the loader was in the same chunk as the lever of the duper (thanks to @Jowgen) 2. Also made sure that there was a "gap" behind where the hopper cart is (one the other side of the obsidian, 1 block gone was enough), that way the hopper cart is placed correctly and the carts you put in are not thrown out in the back, breaking the loader.
built the contraption and had it all working fine however i turned it on a few hours later and the whole farm just broke, not just a few slimes to replace i mean its litterally dragged blocks in from the wall and everything is in a different place than it should be. any reason on how this could have happened? edit: restored a backup on my realm as there was no way i was rebuilding it all and realised the slimes on the outer sides stick to the walls and drag blocks in which may have been the cause of the issue
Hello kelp! I did your earlier version of the farm! Very cool! does it still work in the latest update or i need to rebuild it like you just did here?!
´hi i need help. the farm and the chunk loader works fine but when i go to the end it doesnt make sand and when i come back the whole farm is destroit. any tips
Minecraft 1.19.3 Java, I can't get the chunk loader working. The cart always gets stuck in the overworld. The hopper minecart is in the obsidian block, but the other one gets hooked on it and won't enter the Nether.
If you wanted to replace the blocks you are duping, say for example switching out a colour of concrete powder. How would I do that without breaking the duper, or making it stop working correctly??
Same here, I already made this farm 2 times and the problem is the chunk loader, always stops after like 10 seconds being in the end and when I come back to the overworld the machine is broken
It kind of works in 1.20.4 with some modifications, the bud powered piston clock powering it won’t automatically update, you’ll need to put a redstone torch on the lamp the levers on and place a comparator behind it and make a comparator clock to bud power the bud powered clock, do that with 2 repeaters on 1 tick, unfortunately it’ll have a weird 4 tick pulse when starting up and then it will go into a 2 tick repeating pulse that pulse causes sand to fall into the first side so you’ll have to remove the sand from the first side when starting it up, you can put it in when ever it’s already running but I prefer not too deal with it so I can just simply turn it off and on, added note when an entity goes through the end portal it automatically loads the end for 10 game ticks so with that said and with sand going through ever other game tick you can skip the chunk loader and afk in the overworld as long as you have an item collection system that’s better then this one in the video, overall good video though
Comment #2 Rebuilt it (again) and it worked. Hope it doesnt break again. I have a few question: - Does it have to be stained glass? ( - Do i have to repleace the block when im gonna use it? It seems it breaks after the chunks have been unloaded, and are loaded again with the concrete/sand/blocks in its place.
i know there were already a couple ppl pointing it out, but the chunk loader in the world download is not built correctly. it needs to ALL be in the same chunk, so the 3x3 chunks around the chunk loader in the overworld actually stay loaded once youre in the end.
MAKE SURE YOU TURN ON THE CHUNK LOADER!!! I forgot to and broke the machine but i was able to download the world download and move blocks around to get it right again.
Hey. Does anyone know why my side infront of my lever (The one we start with) is not working? My schematics and everything are the same but the top layer of sand keeps breaking and it then fails to work.
i need the sand so i can make TNT to farm the ore i need to make the gear i need to GO TO THE END!!!!!!!!!!! chicken / egg problem here is you need an end portal to do this and i am not going anywhere near any end portals for some time yet. how do i get the 28974569283495876928365498236459872364523 sand i need to make the 28i45t27i4345t27934t572t4576t247652t tnt i need to get the ore i need to make the gear i need before im going anywhere near the end?
Can you elaborate a little more I just built this and rwalise its to op for the collection system he has built and dint want to waste any and I akrdafy have a laggy asl copper farm so the non needed ecmxtra lag could save me a ton from entities just hanging around in the ground
@@forzafan6924 I have mine built where a wall stop the sand from moving and it falls down onto a waterlogged bottom slab. The water is connected to a stream that goes over hoppers that go into a storage system. If the water doesn't go far enough to make it to your system then put a sign at the end and ice under the sign and a water source past the sign and ice to keep the items moving
