I wish it was an AD - lol! I just really like Ubiqiti products - if they want to send them to me i would be happy to share that with everyone. I think I show some footage, but good point I should try and show more next time! - thanks for watching!
My current smart doorbell is on my fence. Does Unifi have a solar set up option for the wifi smart doorbell? I am looking to get away from subscription based services thanks.
I don't think there are any kits, but you can just mix and match to create your own. I find I don't always use all the cameras in the kits anyways - I did a lorex review a while back and the provided camera's were not used for the install I did. My recommendation is to get a Dream Machine pro or SE - geni.us/x8JW - this is your base for network and security, then pick the cameras you need for each location. Most often I use the G5 Flex - geni.us/rivftOo - or the PRO cameras - geni.us/5kRJ08Z - for even higher res. You could even go wireless if you can't get a cat5 cable run to some locations. There is nothing else you need! - anyway, thanks for watching and the feedback - good luck with your install!
I am sorry but there is no way this is not a paid testimony of the product. Too polished with data spewed out like he was a salesman or at the very least reading from a company script.
lol - I wish, I would love it it Ubiquiti would send me some gear! I want to try that DSLR AI lense if they are listening! I just use there stuff all the time for my home and client installs - sorry if it sounded like a pitch, I am just a big fan! If they send me some stuff - I will be happy to mark it as a paid promotion! - thanks for watching!
Hi, what do you recommend for traveling, like on campers, or in cars, with continuous monitoring. Also, what do the big stores use on there roofs, like Target and Walmart .Thank you.
Really depends - depending on your power situation, I would probably go with some sort of dedicated dashcam type solution - they are made for low power situations - but if you have power - I might even go with unifi, it would make a great setup with starlink, or a mobile data setup. The ones in department stores are most likely dedicated DVRs. - thanks for watching
you mention the viewport is wireless but the diagram shows a cable conected. is it truly wireless like a Chromecast or does it need a cable like the diagram?
You are right - my mistake - its actually powered by PoE and then HDMI. I was planning to do a video for this device, I will try to pull something together soon! - thanks for watchin!
@terriireland7251 I love Ubiquiti - use it at home and work. I'm using Reolink Cams due to cost - I needed a PTZ and cound not spend $300 for G5. I got the kinks worked out and the Reolink is pretty good.
How long does the wireless record? Record motion only? I have solar motion cameras that only records via motion for 6-10 seconds but they all have sd cards in them also. Was thinking of going wired with a nvr so it will record all the time
You would get over a year with motion only easily - I have 7 cameras (1-4K, 2-2K, 5-HD) recording all the time and I have 179d 17h 53m worth of recording on a 10TB drive. I don't know of a solar option for unifi, but there is wireless (still requires power) but for me running an ethernet cable for power/data was simple - let me know if you have other questions - and thanks for watching!
@@yoyoTechKnows Wow, ok thanks. Yeah I am in a rural area and the solar cameras I am using alerts me from time to time showing nothing happening. I kinda want something recording all the time.
Depending on the situation, I turn off the IR night vision especially on the smaller Flex cameras - the G5 Bullet Pro does a nice job I find - and compared to some I have used in the past, I find that at least the Unifi have some good adjustment controls that seem to actually make a change in real time - would be great if there was a way to have a day/night profile with custom settings! - thanks for watching, and for the feedback!
In that case I might look at Google nest - only because they have a number of options and would be really easy to relocate if/when you move somewhere else! - thanks for watching!
Depends how you view it - but technically as many as you want. I have some dashboards in home assistant I have embedded specific camera, I have them all connected to HomeKit as well - you can view them from the mobile app, and you can use the viewport to connect a dedicated monitor for full time viewing - you can have as many of these as you want (even combine across sites). - hope that answers your question - thanks for watching!
I have a camera in my garage - but for the garage door opener itself is another video - forget MyQ - they have stopped supporting anything but there own app, search for ratgdo - its a small device that will control and report on everything you garage can do - even how many times its been opened and closed in its lifetime! - Thanks for watching!
Beautiful videos, hey can you make a video about u connect display if you have it? Like whats so good and can you watch live security cameras on the UCONNECT display and do you need internet to see the clips on UCONNECT display,
Thank you and Thanks for watching - I don’t have the display, but I do have the protect viewport which is really only for viewing your cameras! If I can get my hands on the connected display I will review for sure!
@yoyoTech just found this video as i am looking to upgrade my Lorex system that is over 6 years old and the cameras are starting to show signs of age.. I have a Unifi cloud key gen 2, Unifi USG, a 16-port switch 150W, 2 AC Lites, and 1 AC-LR. I installed these like 4-5 years ago and i have the best WiFi and internet connection ever. How can i get the camera’s integrated into my system so i can ditch the Lorex. Thanks so much for this video! Gained a subscriber!
Thanks for watching - you can add a hard drive to the cloud key if you don't have one already - you should be able to simply install unifi protect and add some cameras using PoE or a wirelss unifi camera (I prefer the wired if you can). Start with one and add as needed. I ran all of mine off a cloud key for a while before I upgraded to the dream machine!
Thanks for the video. I am looking to replace my crappy Hikvision cameras that continuously stop broadcasting with new cameras. I am pretty much sold on unification and your video pretty much convinced me. My question is can I set up this system using my existing eero 6+. And what other equipment would i need, (Dream machine) besides the cameras. The existing Hikvision use cat 5e. I would like to get a doorbell as well. Thanks for any response. New subscriber here too.
I am using the G4 Pro doorbell, and it works fine wirelessly - geni.us/wK3k - If you have Cat5 already you are good to go for most options - I typically use the G5 Flex for most locations - geni.us/rivftOo - but the G5 Pro is nice too - good luck - and thanks for watching!
Hello, yes - there are many ways to access the cameras including web site, app, dedicated monitor and i have them setup in Home Assistant as well which not only allows me to access them, but use them to trigger automations - for example when they detect motion, my lights turn on. Hope that answers your question - thanks for watching!
You should be able to find most at Amazon which delivers fast - amzn.to/4c5Mh38 , or order from ui.com directly! Thanks for watching! - good luck setting up your system!
Yes - one of the biggest benefits and the footage is still stored local, not in the cloud so there are no subscription fees to do this - thanks for watching!
Can you share what the temperature ratings for cameras in this system you know of? Live in a climate that is cold. it often stay below -10⁰F and occasionally -40 for about a month in the winter. many battery powered cameras cannot take that cold and shut down, perhaps wired too, I don't have any.
I believe they are rated for -20 based on spec, but I know I have seen at least -25 and never had an issue - I have the G5 pro and a couple flex outside and they have been great - hope that helps - and thanks for watching!
LOL - I would have to rewatch it - but I think there was some footage in there! Promise it was not an ad, I just think its a great system, and the cameras are only a small part of what makes it great! - I will try to add more footage in a future video - thanks for watching all the same!
You betcha! No phone number. No local or even regional rep, sales, or installer. Yoyo, you might want to hip them to this because they’ll not benefit from your sales pitch! SMH
I agree they are hard to find sometimes - I typically start direct from them ui.com, but if they are out of stock I go to Amazon amzn.to/45f7ghM which delivers fast, albeit with a slight markup. But I have installed about 5 client sites in the last month and up here in Canada I have had no issues finding them! - Anyway, thanks for watching!
Prices should not have changed too much - I know they have new models but I just checked Amazon and you can still get the G3 for $79US - amzn.to/4bPce7j and the G5 is only $147US - amzn.to/4edRLKY - thanks for watching!
really? I actually find it to be more affordable than most systems - you can't compare a standalone camera with cloud service - you need to compare it to systems that have a NVR. You can also consider that the NVR is also your network controller and WIFI. Additional cameras start at under $100 and you don't have any subscription fees? Anyway we all have an opinion - thanks for sharing and for watching!
Not getting paid - wish I was! - lol, and I thought thats a pretty good price? $199 for the dream machine was for my network in the first place, and adding cameras starting at $79 seems like a good price to me? If you have quality cameras at a cheaper price share them, I would love the check them out! - thanks for sharing your opinion and thanks for watching!
I am sure everyone has a different experience - sounds like yours have not been great - I have them installed at over 20 clients sites and never had an issue. For my home I have 6 cameras and only ever had to replace one which was most likely caused by an animal chewing the cable - mine have survived outdoors in -30c weather for multiple years. They are realitivly inexpensive cameras and easy to setup and use. - thanks for sharing your experience and thanks for watching!
@@yoyoTechKnows My wife keeps bugging me to get some security on my house like the last one... She wants a live camera for the front door when someone rings the bell. BTW it must be non internet(I live in the boonies). And obviously wired with 4k res native. any suggestions would be great! Thanks brother
@@Jason9ll Hey Jason - sorry missed your reply - Unifi is my goto, it has internet capabilities - but it can run all local - that door bell can be wired, or wirless but it does not need internet! - thanks for watching and good luck!
That's an interesting point, not sure if I would call it garbage just on that, you need a Dream Machine pro max, or SE just to get 2.5G RJ45. But considering many home users are getting internet connections greater than 1GIG now a days it starts to be something to think about. - thanks for sharing and for watching!
@@yoyoTechKnows I went through it when I setup with Unifi. I went with a used Dream Machine instead. It gets the job done and can handle a gig down no problem.
For me, I like the integration of the unifi camera and network into one seamless system - but I would like to try out the Eufy solar/wireless cameras as I think that is a cool looking product. - thanks for watching
