The ones that have a more red undertone are what truly look natural on me....idk if it'd because im very white with COOL undertones or why but the olive ones give me a terrible yellow/ green look.....that being said what would u tell me is the best red leaning self tanner that I would like...I like a dark tan but not extremely dark 😆
@@YummyGummy77 We have exactly the same skin type/color. I love Australian Glow. Could easily be a dupe for Loving Tan with the red base and for half the price with more ML. No fragrance. And I actually mix Australian Glow with the Norvell Venetian *Plus* solution. Make sure it’s the Plus. Put both liquids in an old foam tanning bottle and shake well. Both tans dry quickly on their own, but it’s even better together. And I’ve currently been wearing mine for over two weeks now 😁
Thanks for this awesome video! In future could you post an image of all of the "results" side by side so that we can really compare the colors/depth. Like all 5 body shots side by side in one image. Much appreciated!! Thanks again for your commitment and hard work on these videos 🥰
I truly love what you choose to wear and how you pose for the body shots. Would be so tempting to dress cute and twirl around or something, which would detract from the purpose. You're so practical in these videos. You know your audience, and you deliver like a true professional. Never stop being you!! ♡♡
To get the fake tan smell that lingers off, when you shower use summers eve wash all over your body. I know that sounds weird but because it is a PH balancer it also works on your skin! You can also pat yourself with baby powder to take away the stickiness in creases. It won’t disrupt the tan at all and also helps with transfer. I have to do it every time I tan or I cannot sleep lol.
The ph wash doesn’t disrupt the tan? I usually just use soap under arms/feet/where the sun don’t shine within the first 24 hours but I smell terrible otherwise 😂
I tried coco and eve when you recommended it on your last video, and for me the color was super warm/orangey and it faded SUPER patchy even though I was moisturizing everyday. I actually way prefer the original loving tan formula, it lasted way better for me and the reddish undertone looks more natural for my olive skin tone.
I have been using the norvell in a pump for like 3 years way before it went viral. I started out using the machine but I prefer it poured in a pump. The trick for the hands and feet….this is vital! Mix a very thick lotion with a tiny pump of tan and use over the hands and feet blending well. NEVER do the mitt. It does make it so dark. Also I have never used that particular one you tested I have only used the norvell dark. It’s fantastic! I haven’t touched another tanner in SO long!
Thank you for your updated self tanning show down. I use the Loving Tan in medium and sometime dark and never had a problem No smell the product lasted a good 8 days as long as I moisturized day and night. I had no problem with transfer and the product dried down very quickly. I have to be very honest I bought the brand b. Tan for $9.99 and had just about the same results. It dried down nicely, it didn't smell, and it didn't transfer. This product didn't last as long I would say I got full solid 5 to 6 days , but for the money I felt very good about this product. I don't do the extremely dark tanning. I am much older and I just feel it doesn't look as natural. I recently bough the new Tanologist tanning drops in dark and I use about 5 to 6 drops for my face. neck, chest and I have to say it is very nice. They changed the packaging to a purple bottle. I can only use this product on my face. I tried it on my body and it came out orange on my legs, but turned out beautiful on the face. So strange how product are different on everyone. Once again, thank you for another great video.
I've been using two pumps of Coco and Eve and one pump of Loving Tan Platinum smooshed together on a mitt and it's the perfect combination! It's all I ever use now and I love it!
I appreciate the attention to detail and keeping all of this in one video. I have tried almost every tan and never have pics to compare and remember what I TRULY liked. I do remember ultra dark tanologist being the biggest pain to remove.
I think they all look very good, definitely lean more medium to dark than ultra-dark so the color of the Norvell is my favorite. I might be biased because pumps are not recyclable so being able to reuse the same pump over and over rather than having to throw a pump into the garbage every time is a huge win for me. But the better smell of the Coco and Eve makes me want to try it too.
I’ve learned to embrace my paleness. No matter what i use and weather it’s self or spray tan it never turns out. It’s either splotchy, streaks, spots, orange, or wears off 2 days later on my clothing.
Adding Coco and Eve to my cart immediately! Online reviews have always made me hesitate to try it, but your in-depth review in all the categories that absolutely matter so much when self tanning were super helpful and I’m now super excited to give it a go for my upcoming vacation! ❤️
Hi Abbey, thank you so much for all the hard work you put into these self tan videos. I have always had a hard time with self tanners. When my husband who knows nothing about tans, comments on how orange I have looked, then I always give up. I am italian so I tan very quickly when at the beach. I will wait for Part 4. Will pick up the mitt, thanks foe the link.
Oh my gosh! The “biscuit smell”!!! Maybe it’s because I’m from the south and we eat a lot of biscuits down here, but I knew exactly what that meant when they said it. I had never thought of it until now, but that’s exactly what self tanner smells like 🤣 Thank you for the video Abbey! You never disappoint! 💕
I never comment but have to agree 100% about the new Loving Tan!! Disappointing. Great color but can’t stand how it dries down (or doesn’t). I felt I couldn’t do anything afterward.. or even go near my new cream colored couch. It also fades SO patchy!! I’m glad I’m not alone . LOVE this series!! Thank you!
I am starting to use tinted sunscreen for the visible light protection and they are all so dark! So I've decided to use self tanner from the chest down so that it blends in at least. So this is very useful.
I love these reviews. Regarding the Norvelle, I’ve had a spray tan by a technician who sprays you, using this and I absolutely loved the color wasn’t orange at all like a regular spray booth. But since it’s meant to be used by a spray tech that’s why it’s meant to be left on for 12-24 hours, that’s always the recommendation for spray tans. But I absolutely love their tan. I didn’t realize you could purchase it so I definitely plan to now!
I was wondering if you'd do a video on the different "Tan Towels?" Additionally, would love to see how you apply the type of self-tanners in your video's with a brush for your face, hands and feet!
I’ve been self tanning for years! I consider myself an expert lol. After a while, formulas seem to just stop working well on my skin. Maybe I’ve become immune? Ha. I recently got the Coco Eve in the ultra dark and I’ve been impressed! It’s fantastic! And it actually puts color on my skin. It lasts several days, but I do reapply every 4 or so days to keep it more dark. I highly recommend it!
Do you completely scrub and reapply at 4 days? Or does it wear off evenly enough that you can just apply a new tan after a normal shower? I self tan constantly and can relate to the becoming immune to brands that I previously loved! I've tried every brand except for coco and Eve & tanologist. One thing that I struggle with on EVERY SINGLE brand is, the inside 'bend' of my elbows always ending up white....I've tried adding a little bit of setting powder after it dries down, I've tried tank tops, long sleeves (including pressing the material into my arm every time I bend it to avoid sweating ect)....have you ever struggled with this? If so, any tips? Thanks!
@@frankietower4002 hey no I can’t help with the elbow thing. That’s odd! So I usually tan 2x a week. On Sunday, I’ll shave, exfoliated with a scrub, apply lotion - in the morning. All of the tan does not come off but it’s pretty light. Not pasty skin. At night, I’ll apply tanner. I don’t shower again right before. Then on Wednesday or Thursday, I’ll just shave, apply lotion in the am, and tan again at night. So I’ll shave each morning of…. But I only scrub and exfoliate 1x a week. I hope this helps!
I LOVE your videos!!! ❤️ Thank you for this showdown! My favorite part of the vid --> I literally laughed loud out loud, was when you said "what does a biscuit smell like?!" Omg you're so funny!! I believe people from UK refer to the self tan smell as smelling like biscuits! But seriously love your content and appreciate the time you put in to doing these reviews!! Super helpful!!
Hey Abbey, I downloaded Telegram app but I can't find your username in the search 😔. So Sorry, feeling super dumb right now. I know I must not be doing something right, to make it work correctly.
Wow! Exactly a year later ! That's such a Abbey thing to do ha ha. Love these videos and all your videos! I need more red undertone self tanner recommendations TBH. It's looks more natural on me than other undertones. Please HELP! Love you girl heart ❤️
Using loving tan I highly recommend using the dark or ultra dark and not the platinum. When u have pale skin I don’t recommend the darkest shade tans. I have pale skin and I’ve been using the dark and ultra dark for years and it’s the absolute best I’ve ever used and I’ve been self tanning for over 20 years.
“Getting it everywhere, all over my white walls and countertops” - imagining you bouncing around all over your house, leaving behind little tan splotches on the walls 😆
You should rank them at the end. Orrrr you could do a whole video ranking all the ones you tried or like a top 10. I love watching these videos. I've never tried a foam, I use tanning drops because I'm scared of the foams but I may try one after watching your videos.
Love you're tanning videos because I'm so into self tanning and I've never actually found one I absolutely love that is dark enough. Can you tell me out of all the ones you've tried what 3 or 4 are your all time favorite for having very dark color, lasting powe r fading and good drying time?
This just goes to show how different people are and how their skin reacts to products! The loving tan on me was the most natural looking tan and dark. Loved it. And then the coco and eve I used once the same bottle in ultra dark is still sitting on my bathroom counter with a matching brush they sent with it. That tan for me felt like it all washed off in the shower and I slept in it! The norvell one I totally agree with. It dries so quickly I think because it’s a liquid and I love that one. Reminds me of the color I get with the B Perfect ultra dark watermelon tanner. That one is amazing it just doesn’t last as long but still was my favorite until …. UNTIL LOL Sosu dripping gold in ultra dark came out and that undertone my goodness was gorgeous and it was dark and made my skin feel great. I also use her facial tanner too which is great for color. The face drops from tan luxe are the darkest I’ve had but it’s literally $50 for the tiniest bottle dropper so I’ll just add extra liquid from others and I don’t mix it with a moisturizer so I get the darkest results. I’ve just tried the Bali body one hour express and left it on overnight and I loved that too. Wasn’t the darkest ever but it WAS still dark and the application is a breeze with that one. I’ve been seeing that Molly Mae “FILTERED” or just filter idk tanner all over TikTok I would love to see an honest review on that one before spending money on it. Everyone was like so split down the middle with it! So I’d love to see a review on that one and also the revolution pro self tanner in ultra dark it’s the one in the yellow bottle from makeup revolution and I already ordered it and I’m hoping it’s a good one. But yeah, the “FILTER” one by Molly Mae I would love to see a demo!
Oh and I forgot! Fake Bake who has been around forever but there’s a reason for it lol! They have the flawless ‘darker’ spray and that gives such a beautiful dark tan as well. And it’s the same thing as Norvell with the spray and so it dries so nice and smooth not sticky. I think you would love that one! A demo for everyone with that would be awesome too! I’m a self tanner junkie it’s bad I know lolol so I love these videos!
I’m always watching your videos to get an honest review. I was wondering what would be a great dark tanner for a cool tone? I’ve tried loving tan and turned reddish orange, Bondi sands ultra dark and turned orange. I don’t have the money to waste and didn’t know what else to buy.🤷🏻♀️ I don’t want to give up and don’t want wrinkles or cancer from the sun. Do you have any options? You’re the most honest person so I will go with whatever you say. Thanks
Tanologist said that the new bottle of ultra dark isn't just new packaging btw. They said it's reformulated to be longer lasting, develop faster and has a deeper bronze color than the OG ultra dark. I hope you try that one to compare if it really is darker or not. Great video btw :) Also, I saw Norvell also has a darker option than the venetian plus- Competition Black Out lol Not recommending that. Just thought it was interesting that people were using it not in competitions
Abbey! I love your reviews and would love to see if you could find any UNSCENTED self tanners and give your review… Bondi sands has one, haven’t given it a try but it’s so so hard to find quality fragrance free self tan products. I have a skin condition where it’s especially important for me to avoid fragrance unfortunately :((
I just saw someone say to wash hands (feet) after an hour…good tip! I’m German-fair with pink-white skin…so super fun for self tanning…no. I have found that a light tanner is best for me, just to tone down the pinky-white a bit…and I’m happy. I used to try tons of products to get a “tan” look, but was constantly frustrated with the uneven/mottled fade. Now that I don’t try so hard…just use Tan Luxe drops in my Josie Maran pump body butter after my nighttime shower, every couple of days….mucho happier‼️ please share where you purchased the brush used to blend…thanks!
It’s crazy the different experiences people have. I can’t deal with Coco & Eve anymore so I just got loving tan, hoping for the best lol. Coco & Eve ultra dark has completely ruined my bed clothes, splotches like crazy, wears off super fast, and stinks so bad (which normally I don’t care about). This was a great review! My son also asked why I looked orange ha! I might try some of those other ones if loving tan isn’t it. I used to use fake bake darker for years and years but it’s just not that dark and they have a new formula that I’ve heard is awful.
I love these videos 🥰 Thank you for being our Guinea pig ❤️ Could you please do an organic tan show down? Eco tan wot not tan etc Ps what is your go to tan when you’re not testing them for a video just for an event what will you choose? ❤️
Abbey- fellow Wisconsinite here-born and raised in LaCrosse! I had lots of friends that went to UW Madtown🍻 I ended up in AZ. Anyways, like you I have TONS of hair and skincare products and have not found a great way to organize them all. Can you do a video on how and what you use to organize all of your products? I have bought bins and baskets and acrylic countertop organizers (which are ugly) and without having some organization to them, I don’t even know what all I have at this point. If you’ve done a video like this can you share the link? I absolutely LOVE your content, by far one of my favorite RU-vidrs!!💜
Bondi Sands makes a body wash specifically to use with self tanners. I like it and my tan doesn’t wash off as easy when using it. It smells like coconut, but it’s not highly fragranced.
bar soap and all Dove is a tan killer! you need to use something without sulfates & alcohols for both lotions & body wash. OGX, Raw, Native, Burts Bees, etc. just check the labels
Ive just started to dabble into fake tans. The only thing worrying me is how little studies there about if the dha can actually age you. Do you have concerns or thoughts towards this? Id love to hear your opinion.
Also curious about Luna Bronze Total Eclipse and Zuii (also clean and they both claim to give natural results.) I was very interested in those as well. I’d love to know your thoughts!
been waiting for this.. i watched your previous self tanner videos and love the tanologist! i used to be a st. tropez lover.. i have a few questions... how do you self tan while on vacation? i feel like the pool and even sunscreen break down the tanner.. any suggestions? i also try apply my face serums down my neck and chest and same thing.. it breaks it down and makes it splotchy.. but i'm really trying to figure out the vacation thing.. if i avoid the pool, have you ever tried to reapply on a non splotchy tan? sorry so long.. and thanks!
I went on a cruise and I brought my supplies with me and retanned as needed! So bring some exfoliators, bring your tan and mitt for it the pool water breaks things down
@@bunchofbrunners8473 thank you! i brought my stuff as well.. although i didn't really exfoliate, even though i did bring my mitt. .i just added onto my existing fake tan... it worked once. not sure i would have been able to do that a second time haha
Love the video. Your comparisons do feel fair and relatable. I wish I could see a difference between all the tanned shots 😂 they look all quite the same for me 😂 And I find it funny, that SelfTans do appear to act so different on different skin. I hate the coco and eve. The smell: great; the color tone: great. BUT the fade begun very quickly for me; it faded extremely patchy and as it faded I had it all in my clothes. It stained some of my white shirts so bad that I had to throw them away..
TEMPTU Mist Body Self-Tanner Spray & BHA Exfoliator Set Would you review this set? I’ve been seeing it everywhere (I think it’s brand new) and I want it so badly! It looks so innovative as well as clean. Hope you try it! I’ll probably get it anyway though lol.
Love these videos! Please do a review on the Letan Uber Dark express range. I swear by the ash based one. But I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. I don’t here anyone talk about it but I absolutely love the colour! 😊
Love it!! Yeah❤️ Love the tanologist clear express mouse and and face and body drops(more a gel than water) However, went a little nuts 🙄 Can you recommend a good fader tech for hands and feet 😄😄 Can send pictures if needed. Still love it User error.
It’s quite nice! Applies and sets dry quickly, little scent, applies evenly when used with a mitt, not drying to my skin, lasts average length. The dark color I find to be more medium.
