Just wanted to let you know that I took your advice in prepping skin, applying self tanner(using St. Tropez mitt and brush for hands), etc. I am 55 and haven't dabbled much with self tanners but I chose Jergens Instant Sunless Tan for body and Tanceutucal for face. It turned out amazing! Thank you!
Hi Sharalee! I’ve been self tanning for over 30 years - ever since I was diagnosed with melanoma! My favorite self tanners are the Jergens (the one in the brown bottle) but I also use L’Oréal tanning towels or Jergen’s tanning towels inbetween. I agree with you about the mitt - the thicker ones work much better!! And yes the self tanners have gotten so much better over the past ten years! Thanks for your timely video and helpful hints as always. 🥰🥰
Thank you for this! My daughter does comp cheer and she has been wanting to do some self tanning. She is super pale and so I've had her watch your other videos and they were super helpful on getting her started. I will have her watch this one later today for sure. Thank you! 💜
I watched many RU-vid videos on sunless tanners and how they are applied! You video was the most informative! I have done sunless tanners in the past and tanning beds! I have used Jergens foam and lotion! I do love it! Thank you!
Awww, thank you so much! I had a little fun, using the Too Faced "Just Peachy Mattes" and "Let's Play" palettes and then decided I needed some pink sparkle so I added the Bodyography "Stratus" pigment😘 I will be happy to do a tutorial for you!
Hello Sharalee and a big thank you for this video today!! This answered all my questions and was sooooo helpful because of your thoroughness! I too use to lie out in the sun and did tanning beds and I just can’t anymore. So I really appreciated the time you took to put this together for us all. God bless and keep you.😊
Hi Sharalee. I enjoyed the video. Super informative. Unfortunately for the next 3 months I can’t even use sunless tanners. I had a derm visit yesterday for a few spots or so I thought. Now I’m looking at 18 visits for cancer and pre-cancer removals. Two have reoccurred from previous incision removals on my face. I haven’t even been in the sun for twelve years or more. I’m just a hot mess! 😂 Say a few prayers for me please and enjoy your beautiful skin! Much love and God bless!
Oh, honey, this was so, SO, HELPFUL!! As I told you on Instagram, I was just OVERWHELMED with all the choices at ULTA and had NO IDEA what was good to use. This video was WONDERFUL! I so appreciate you taking the time and all the effort to give us this information! This is one of MANY REASONS, I LOVE your videos! You really put your heart and soul into making sure to give the best info you can! Thank you, dear friend, you are the BEST! Love and blessings...
Thank you I love tanning lotion I have never put it on my face I have used a couple you have shown but love to use it I find it great I hate sitting in the sun as I used to burn so your tanning is great for me I have just bought St tropes l haven’t tried it yet I am from Scotland. Live nz Thank,s a lot love your show s Sylvia❤️
I really appreciate your helpful advice and all the work you put into making this video. Your lip color is gorgeous! Just found myself a new RU-vidr that is different and enjoyable! Thanks so much!
Wow !!! You are the expert on self tanning Your tan looks great. I’m not a self tanning girl but the video was really interesting you had a lot of good tips 😍
Love all your videos. I never know exactly what to get and how to apply. This clears up a lot for me, especially how to do your back. LOL I'm anxious to try some of these products. Did you see Tati's video with the Patrick Ta Major Glow Balm? It looked amazing. I think you would love it and it doesn't transfer to clothing. Have a blessed day!!!
Thank you Sharalee for putting this together as I am ALWAYS on look out for new and better sunless tanners. like yourself I put on sunless tanner’s once a week. Happy Memorial Day weekend. One question please..can you recommend a Sun Screen for face that you can apply before makeup? There are hundreds but I just don’t know which one? Thank you! 😎
Highly highly recommend the Skinerals mitt! Love Jurgens SOL water mousse. I’m fair and used medium. Very natural looking. Dries fast but I use my hair dryer with no heat and it works great.
You have come a long way with your sunless Tanner I remember watching your video about 3 or 4 years ago and you use to use the Jergens. Now with inflation hitting an all time high I am starting to notice more people going back to the Jergens again because of the price.
Have you ever found one that TRULY does not have that lingering chemical tanner smell? Even ones that claim they don’t always seem to. Thanks for the great video, I just started using the coco & Eve one too.
Additional comment about back color application. This tip works wonderfully...If you have a body brush, slip the tanning mitt over the brush end and secure onto the handle. Hold a mirror in the other hand and viola, perfect application every time.🤗
Sooooo many great tips!! I am going to have to watch this over and over again. First thing is to get that exfoliating mitt. I also never realized I could apply a 2nd coat so soon after the first coat. The age spot tip - genius!! I love the Bali Body tanner - on your recommendation of course ;) and I am very interested in the Tanceuticals face lotion - I have been using the drops in my moisturizer and really like them but this looks even better. Great video my friend!!😘❤️
@sharalee Thanks for these awesome and super helpful tips! So many videos share how to apply self tanners but no one explains if you are to rinse with just water after "processing time" or should you use soap?
Thank you soooo much for doing all of the research. It is much appreciated and needed ( by me). Your tutorials are thorough and pleasant. I haven’t heard you mention ( I’m new) if the music on the videos is you playing in the background? 😎
Great video, Sharalee! I've spent hours laying out as a teenager and being "orange" from the sunless tanner back in the day. But, I have way too many "wisdom" spots to try the sunless tanning. I'll just be happy being fair.
Wonderful Info! I'm still using the Instant Sun by Jergens you recommended in a previous video. A great alternate recommended by Dominique about a month ago is b.tan forever+ ever. It lasts up to 11 days. It really does, and there is NO icky tanning smell. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! 😘Roberta
Thank you for all your fun content! You did a video on May 18th it was a Monday behind the camera vlog and you were wearing a top with floral short sleeves and grey bodice area that I just loved. What brand is that or where did you buy it?
Oh I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos! That top is one of my favorites that I picked it up last year at JC Penney's. The brand is "Rewind"...hopefully you can track it down!😘
Oops, I forgot to include that in the description box😅 I'm wearing the Natasha Denona I Need a Rose Lipstick in "Peony" with Wayne Goss Gloss in "Hibiscus" on top.
Great great video and so informative !! I took your recommendation a few years ago and love the Jergens ( both products) also, anyone who is critical of your time spent doing this, well honestly really? How much time do people “waste” doing anything. ie… watching TV, playing video games , surfing mindless internet , anyway you get the picture. If you enjoy something it’s certainly NOT a waste of time maybe they shouldn’t be watching beauty channels ! Lol! Anyway, you are SO sweet I hate for anyone to be negative to you! Again, great video as always ! Hugs 🤗
You should try Tanologist foam it’s only $17.99 it has no color guide but believe me it goes on so nicely and even. They recently came out with a brand new product in new packaging the extra dark this one has a color guide, and it’s priced at $23.99 I use the Tanologist drops for my face but they can be used for both. I just prefer the foam and once I am done I am either going to try the new extra dark with the color guide or I am joking to give the oldie but goody Jergens a tray again after all these years and use the their gradual tanner lotion every other day to prolong the tan. This inflation is killing us all.
Great video. I was wondering how to incorporate face sunless tanning when I use retinA every night. Looks like in the summer I’ll have to skip days in the name of being bronzed.
I started using the Jergen natural glow last year after watching your video and seeing your recommendation. I do love it but it does sometimes get splotchy on me. I just recently bought the Bondi Sands Aero Ultra Dark. It did give me a darker tan than the Jergens. I hate the green color though. I am on day 6 and tan still looks great. I also have the tan euro cal face tanner (white bottle) and for some reason my face doesn’t get very tan with it. I’m not sure if I am doing something wrong or not. What do you exfoliate face with before tanning? Also I was using the St Tropez tanning mitt, I will try the one you spoke of today. Any tips to help me would be greatly appreciated! Love all of your videos! I am a faithful watcher.
I’ve found several self-tanners that give me good color but the after -tan dha smell is very noticeable. Most go on smelling nice but don’t smell good after it develops , more so if you sweat any. This smell on some last 24 hrs afterwards. What about that on these & others you have tried?
Thank you so much! I love your videos! I would love to know what you think of Beauty By Earth self tanner. I have been using it for about 4 years...goes on just like lotion, no streaking, wonderful smell..no transfer ...all natural ingredients and just featured on GMA on Earth day!
It's been a few years since I tried the St. Tropez but I remember feeling like the Jergens Instant Sun was better😘 I will have to try the purple version of Isle of Paradise!
I actually demonstrated that in a previous video so I'll link it here, starting at the section about the face😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QQ4qMASR5lM.html
Omgosh I used to tan 365 days a year in the tanning booths, gave that up 15 years ago, I'm 65, I used to feel so healthy🤔right? Now I just put self tanner where I need it, vanity is for the birds, lol
Thank you!😘 It's the Natasha Denona I Need a Rose Lipstick in "Peony" + Wayne Goss Gloss in "Hibiscus". The lipliner I used was the Essence 8 Hr Lip Liner in "Curious".
Do you use the last Juergens product on your face too? And if you put it in your back what’s the trick. If it’s your husband. I think it might be a bit pricey for a plane ticket from illinois to Cali❤️🤣
I tried the Clarins face tanning drops a few years ago. I remember they did work but it was a very gradual tan....it took several applications to build up some color. So I'm with you...not sure they are worth the price tag😘
I still shower daily but I am careful not to scrub my skin too vigorously until I'm ready to reapply at the end of the week. Keeping the skin moisturized is also very important!
I haven’t self tanned in years. ??? Is there still that awful smell from the tanning process as it interacts with the protein in your skin??? I stopped because I couldn’t stand that smell day after day.
I'm so sad that L'oreal inexplicably discontinued their gradual sublime glow for every day. It was moisturizing, had a super subtle shimmer & never dried out skin like every other tanner on the market. The Jergens just doesn't compare. When you go to the website or look online NO ONE explains WHY they did this.
