GMFK25S - Front Axle Timbren SES Suspension Upgrade
This SES Suspension Upgrade fits the front suspension of a Chevrolet Silverado 1500/2500/3500 & GMC Sierra 1500/2500/3500 truck (see below for full list of applications). Each laser-cut piece of steel is powder-coated to ensure a quality fit. We’ve engineered our hollow rubber springs to deliver a progressive spring rate. In other words, the more weight that pushes down on the rubber springs (weight from a snowplow or heavy aftermarket accessories - such as a steel bumper) the harder they work to prevent front-end sag.
Product Features
- Eliminate Vehicle Squatting & Sagging
- Cushion Road Shocks
- Improve Handling
- Satisfaction Guarantee
- Lifetime Warranty
Suspension Package Installation Instructions
1) Raise vehicle allowing the axle to hang freely.
2) Remove existing bump stop assembly.
3) If necessary, loosen and re-tighten upper shock bolts to allow additional control arm separation during Timbren kit installation.
4) Assemble Aeon rubber spring and bracket as shown in the adjacent diagram.
5) Mount Timbren assembly using existing holes & Timbren supplied fasteners.
NOTE: Use front mounting holes on frame bracket making sure that thin end of beveled washer points towards rear of vehicle.
6) Lower vehicle.
NOTES: When removing OEM fasteners, use penetrating fluid.
Do not exceed vehicle manufacturer's recommended axle weight rating. Check for AEON interference with vehicle components - Under load AEON will "expand" in diameter.
Clearance Instructions:
Rear SES Kits for Pick-Ups and Vans should have a 1/2" to 1-1/2" gap between the rubber spring and contact point when empty.
A partial load, or vehicle accessories will reduce or eliminate the gap.
Front SES kits are usually in full contact.
Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks, Trailers and Motorhomes will be in constant contact, and have no gap.
Lifetime Warranty:
Timbren SES Kits are warrantied against defects in material and workmanship, under normal use and service, for the life of the vehicle on which the kit was originally installed. The warranty is not transferable and proof of purchase is required. The warranty is limited to the replacement of the failed part. TIMBREN will not be responsible for any labour or freight charges involved in the replacement of any product. TIMBREN shall be entitles to make its own inspection to determine the validity of the claim. TIMBREN shall not be liable nor warranty the product in the event of alteration, misuse, overload, negligence or damage caused by others.

I fully agree that this is probably the best upgrade anyone could do if you intend on plowing or carrying heavy loads or towing... I first used these back in 2006 when I bought a brand new 2006 GMC 2500HD extended cab pickup.. I installed them the same week I got the truck and even before I plowed or towed anything with it... when I hooked up to my plow, fisher 8.5 Extreme V Stainless, and raised it the front end dropped only about one inch, maybe... actually less , and more like only a half inch.. was barely noticeable.. I have never had to replace one single front suspension part in that truck, ever.. I did replace both front hub/ bearings at around 100k miles but even that is a lot of miles to get out of them.. everything else is still tight as a drum.. I should note that I do grease the entire front end every 4K when I change my oil, and rotate my tires every other oil change.. I am always on top of that stuff.. that truck currently has over 170k miles on it now and the front end is still like new... that one upgrade has saved me literally hundreds if not a couple thousand bucks in repair costs and the headaches that come with things breaking and having to be hung up getting fixed... the sooner you can put these on your truck the better.. it gives a much better ride, practically eliminates body roll, front end sag is a thing of the past, and it absolutely enhances steering and braking especially while in 4wd...anyone who uses a set of these even once will never go without them on any vehicle they work or plow with ever again.. it will be the very first thing you will do after filling your gas tank...if you look enough they can be had for between 180-200 bucks for most late model trucks for the front ... absolutely worth every single penny.. I would install these even if I didn’t plow or tow anything just because of the gains you get in the drivability... great info and great video 👍👍

I would definitely reccomend adjusting the ride height on your truck. The entire weight of your truck is sitting on those bump stops and it will definitely accelerate the wear on your new part. Always adjust ride height prior to replacing your bump stops. Then get an alignment.

Super info, tks. Mine arrive soon. I chg'd my2009 2500hd leafs from 4/1 5o 5/1 and put new shocks same as yours. Are they good (Rancho) as you've had them for three (3) years? I have a Hiniker V on as well. Timbrens should help.
@ThriftyGarage
@ThriftyGarage Год назад
Nothing to brag about on the shocks. New are better than used. Time will tell for the longevity. Timbrens are where it’s at! Such a big difference especially on a 10-15 year old truck.

Sold the truck to Carvana but had the Timbrens for 2-3 years and still stand behind them for the GMT800 trucks.

Did the clearance decrease after the suspension settled? How much?
@ThriftyGarage
@ThriftyGarage Год назад
I put them on and never looked back. I don’t know if it settled. I still stand behind the statement that this is the best bang for your buck upgrade for these trucks. Whether you use it for work or not. For a work truck especially a plow truck I’d say it’s an essential upgrade.

Just curious... How does the bump stop help with the suspension and sloppy steering?
@ThriftyGarage
@ThriftyGarage 4 года назад
I can’t entirely explain it. I’ve never seen one component make such a difference in how a vehicle handled. I suppose it’s like a cushion that limits the suspension movement at the end of travel assisting in removing harshness.

Hi 😊 any chance we can improve a sierra 1500 to have more weight on it? We need to load more than 4000lbs on it a sierra 2500 would be better but they are harder to find So we found a V8 1500 Any chance the timbren could help? Thanks 😊

So I just test drove a brand new 2021 chevy 2500 hd with the diesel engine setup from the dealer yesterday. I love the engine and trans but absolutely hate how stiff the ride on that truck is. Its a 4x4 crew cab with an 8' bed as well. Is there anything that can be done on the new 2500's to soften up the front suspension? I drove all the new 2500's from Ford, Ram and GM. The GM's by far rode the worst. Ford F250 rode the best and Ram was in 2nd place in my opinion. Please let me know if anything can be done about this issue. Thanks
@ThriftyGarage
@ThriftyGarage 3 года назад
In my experience with the newer Silverado trucks it was the rear suspension ride that was harsh. Put a load in the bed or hook up a trailer and it really smooths out the ride. I’m not sure if this would be a good upgrade on the newer trucks. I can’t compare GM and Ford as I don’t have much seat time in those.

Add Bilstein shocks and Sulastic shackles. Also make sure truck wasn't leveled from the dealer if it was it's best to have Kryptonite upper control arms on it.

So where is the install video?
@ThriftyGarage
@ThriftyGarage 3 года назад
It’s pretty simple. You simply remove a few nuts and replace the old bump stop with this. Hardest part is access and dealing with any rust or corrosion.
@travelinthru9519

That's cuz I'm wondering he's flapping his gums more than he's actually working on the vehicle

Simply haven’t had a chance to edit the video. You are the only person to ask for the install video. Maybe I’ll get to editing it someday. But don’t wait on me. Like I said it’s a super easy install. Shouldn’t take more than an hour or two if you know what your doing.

@@ThriftyGarage does it lift it or anything or is it just for load?
@ThriftyGarage
@ThriftyGarage Год назад
It’s more of a bump stop than a lift. Might increase your right height slightly if you old one is toast like mine was.

Why is this video call "best suspension upgrade" all you did was replace the bump stop, it should be called "bump stop upgrade"

It took my clapped out suspension and made it feel like new again. For the cost i would depend it to be a very good suspension upgrade.
