@@dark96744 If you use "two part resin" for the ammo6 cal 50 mold you must use flexible resin. Hard resin works only if you drill out the original magazin !!

Hello nice Video. For the mold. If you use hotglue you can coat the ammunition after making with "car plastic care spray" to make the not so sticky.

About to buy this mold and saw you had one. I’m in a state where it’s 10 day mandatory wait for any fire arms regardless of legal status, no msgs Over 10 rounds Yet can order w black powered pistol with 6 round chamber adapter to my door.

You should make .50 Caliber round ammunition out of hard epoxy resin, that should hit quite hard and it has a very smooth surface.

Good idea but how does one stop the epoxy resin from sticking to the mold?

Here in Norway 11 the Joule are legal. Experimenting with different molds and balls.

Probably not, the mass would add velocity, the twist might help with stability.

Which are the best for damage? Is it the devastators? The slugs seem like they're just for fun shooting in the yard but won't do anything to an attacker.

Stopping power depends on: - ammo type and weight - velocity - range - shot placement Modded HDR50 (~20J) + heavy ammo + shot in the leg’s big muscle at 5-10m = STOP.

my guess would be as long as it's a NON lethal type ammo it would be fine, but start adding potentially lethal objects to it could definately cause an issue provided they can prove you fired it

I'm late to the party, my HDR50 (11 Joule, not modified) is coming in a few days. With say 2 cylinders of 6 shots, what do you think is the best combination of ammo for home self defense? I'll have homewrekers, ie steel ball slugs and bought 10 .50 caliber pepper balls. What order makes the most sense? 2 pepper, 2 steel, 2 pepper? Then back up w/ the same? Any thought on general philosophy? Thanks.

I've not tried pepper balls, as much gun has been modified, I would be a bit concerned about the pepper balls exploding in the barrel or on exit, rendering me useless.

I also have . 50 cal pepper rounds but wouldn't use them as the payload of capsaicin is toooo little better off in .68 cal if you wanna go pepper stick to steel, homewreckers or devastators.

Probably not, they seem to pop OK. But you can lube it if you want to.

They seem pretty good, just trying out different weight Ball Bearings at the moment. Saves a fair bit of money if you shoot a lot.

I was given an HDR 50 as a gift recently. I've already modified it, added a laser, and bought steel/rubber ammunition. I feel, at best, it may stop a small animal from attacking. I live in America and I see other countries use these for self defense as opposed to actual firearms that tear into flesh. Our police use rubber bullets, non-lethal, because the real thing isn't always necessary. So, my question is this. While I can see that the psi from the CO2 is 800 and my projectile is traveling almost 300 mph at 11 joules, has anyone ever stopped an attacker with one of these?

@@Pbadome1 Getting hit by one of these, especially the modded TR50, _really_ fraking hurts. If you're using this for home defence and live in an area with a "Castle" or "Stand your ground" type law (meaning you're fully allowed to beat/shoot/stab/etc an intruder) then it's best that you get good at shooting this and aim for the neck/throat/face. That'll drop a would-be criminal very quickly.

@@iyeetsecurity922 Thanks. I figured that I'd have to go for soft targets like that. If for no other reason, at least the person would either be deterred and flee, or be stunned long enough for me to take further action. The biggest advantage is that there is no kick back, so it's more likely that I can get more projectiles on the target.

Not sure, using resin or hot glue doesn't require the same heat as melting lead. Don't know how well the silicone would hold up.

I never said that you do have anything to do with the price, it’s just at around a 3rd of the cost of the gun seems expensive to me …. I also Never said I could make one better for the same price/cheaper either did I ?. so stop thinking everyone’s having a go at you all the time, I’m not and I’m no keyboard worrier or anything-either. I just made a simple comment and look at your reaction! It’s a piece of silicone with holes in for 50 quid mate which is to much in my opinion. You can quite easily make one of these moulds! (with out the spiral affect tho) using a piece of wood, a 12mm drill bit and a 12mm counter sink with a 3mm hole in the centre so you can punch them out the bottom when set. Your also not limited to 18 holes you can drill as many as you like for making bigger batches of slugs…..All for the Very cheap cost of 2 drill bits and a block of wood (and a little olive oil,or any oil you like I might add,vegetable,sunflower….eat) it’s easy to do and won’t cost £45 either Mr Mad Dog 🐶….
