I absolutely don't comprehend the thumbs-down votes. This gentleman is showing everyone many beautiful areas of Arizona, on his time, at his expense, and while providing valuable information.

@@wannabetowasabe..... @wannabe to wasabe ..... Wannabe: Perhaps you should reread my statement more slowly, because it made no specific reference to this particular video. Rather, it was a generic statement regarding negative people who have the temarity to habitually look for fault in the efforts, statements, and accomplishments of others. As a subscriber, I have seen other videos produced by Jeff receive one or more thumbs-down for no apparent or logical reason. Whether it is SINGULAR or PLURAL casting of thumbs-down is irrelevant. Nevertheless, I am always perplexed by the ideology and impetus of certain people who consistently find hyperbolic fault without logic or reasoning. The underlying message of my original statement: we should ENCOURAGE and SUPPORT RU-vid content creators, like Jeff, to produce more entertaining and informative videos. By the way, Jeff's videos cost his subscribers and viewers ZERO DOLLARS. The other message is to be positive and not negative - except toward those who come out of the proverbial woodwork to cast unwarranted or unjustified aspersions.

@@thomasottvideos Well, you didn't make reference to this video, true, nor did you make reference to any other videos. That was confusing and I took a stab at what you meant. I got it wrong.

I just got back home to Alaska after visiting my grandmother in Wickenburg for the Fourth of July. At first glance it just seems like a really cool historic mining and cowboy town, but there’s a very genuine sense of small town community there. They had a large firework show and carnival type event at the ball parks with a nice classic car show. And if you’re looking for some of the best barbecue you’ll find anywhere the Ornery Hog was unbelievably delicious. The Wickenburg Ranch Golf Social Club was absolutely gorgeous also, had a lot of fun playing there. My grandma was saying they have pretty much nonstop rodeos throughout the winter too.

Nice video BUT you missed the highlight of Winslow: the La Posada hotel. It is an old Santa Fe railroad Harvey House hotel whose architect was Mary Colter. It is one of the best remaining (if not the best) Harvey House hotels in existence. You must stay at least one night and also eat at the hotel restaurant (The Turquoise Room) which has excellent food. While there you should get into the Harvey House history which is intertwined with rich history of railroading in the southwest including the Grand Canyon and the Lodge at the south rim (El Tovar Hotel).

It is worth the long slow trek to get there. I’m getting a lot of birthdays behind me so I’m slowing down a bit, but if possible we want to make it to Quartzsite again this Jan. depending on many factors facing us now. I was raised in Eagar, just a stone's throw from Greer. We often went fishing in Greer. We were told that we lived in "Northern Ariz." and I believed it until, as an adult, I looked more closely at a map. It is Eastern Arizona as far East as you can get without being in New Mexico, pretty much due east of Phoenix and halfway down the state. We thought that the Gila valley was Eastern Ariz, but they are south east. We are due east. There is another "Black Mountain" near Yuma. On the subject of coldest place in the lower 48, I recall in the winter of about '63 or 64 we had a cold winter. We used to watch the weather reports on TV to see whether Maverick, AZ would be colder than Fargo, ND as the coldest place in the lower 48.
