Borned and raised in HongKong and went to U of A for college, gotta say, Arizona was the state that made me realise i was NOT a city person, even though i am stuck back into this shit hole of HK, but my love will forever go with Arizona
One time I went outside and the entire sky was red like Mars and the mountains to the west looked like flaming volcanoes as the sun set over them. Sunsets are always good here, but sometimes they're unreal.
That makes a lot of sense! If I lived in Arizona I think I would take advantage of how different the weather is depending on where you're at in Arizona. Water ski during the day and snow ski at night! Thanks for watching!
Aprical W. I know I loved the cloudy days and rain big time growing up in Phoenix!!! I moved to Colorado awhile ago and I still dig the rain, clouds, and snow here
It’s a shame how AZ doesn’t get much love. I run a travel and outdoor blog and majority of my posts are from exploring the beautiful AZ. Arizona is soooo gorgeous and anyone who is here should be lucky to live here.
Remember if you come to Tucson or Phoenix in the summer it gets a 115 ,117 degrees ,, hot so make sure your car is running good don't want to get stuck on the freeway overheating
Born here in Arizona and currently living here. There are a lot of hidden oasis’s here too like fossil creek, slide rock etc. It is beautiful, but monsoon season is my absolute favorite!!!!
Bill Marion another little known 1. tombstone got its name cuz some1 was prospecting there and was told that all he would find was his tombstone. true or not can't say
Northern Arizona is home to the world's largest ponderosa pine forest which stretches nearly West to East, of its borders. That's more impressive than silly Santa Claus town. AZ is a great state, you can ski in the morning and kayak down the Verde River, in the warm desert, the same day.
My favorite silly town is Bellybutton, Arizona, sandwiched between Snowflake and Taylor. It is arrayed along a single road stemming from Hwy 77. It doesn't show up on Googe Earth or mapquest, but there is a sign on the highway for it.
I am a native Arizonan, a born and raised desert dweller. I do complain about the summer heat a lot because I do not like our summer heat. However, weather wise, I still think we win. We don't have to worry about hurricanes or tornadoes. Sure. we get our monsoon season, but, compared to hurricanes and tornadoes, our monsoon season is actually pretty nice. I haven't yet met a true Arizonan who doesn't appreciate a good monsoon storm. Most places I hear of don't like hearing that they have rain in the forecast - but us Arizonan's, we look forward to it. Of course, I am speaking of the lower deserts. I can't speak for those who live along the Mogollon Rim, or how they feel about their snow in the winter. I love my state. I can't see living anywhere else.
We have the open deserts for 4 wheeling shooting and camping. The cost of living is really cheap. I am buying a home on $1600 a month income. Phoenix is a bit pricey but still pretty cheap compared to Cali. Plus Cali is right next door lol.
Here are some more facts about AZ: -It’s home to the largest continuous ponderosa pine forest in the world? (I’m pretty sure it’s world) -it has 13 different species of rattlesnake, the most of any state -the top of the San Francisco peaks is a Tundra -Arizona has 5 different climate zones
Fact #11; Molly Snyder discovered “Snyderite” in Arizona. She’s the first female in history to have discovered a class A gemstone (Its very rare, only found in Yavapai County)
Lori Hightower We actually went through Jerome but we didn’t have time to stop. Pretty awesome place, and the view from the top of the mountain was awesome. Love to stop and shop next time! Bill
Thanks for the wealth of information Bill. I have lived in AZ for over 25 years and have fallen in love with it! Come back and visit anytime!! Speaking of the Grand Canyon, I have hiked down into it and have seen the Colorado River up close. You mentioned in this video that some people have had a spiritual experience by just viewing it. Imagine seeing it up close. You'll never be the same!
My boyfriend, my 2 teenage kids, and I were boating a short ways down the Colorado River from Fisher’s Landing, the sight as we rounded a corner was so breathtaking the next thing I knew I started singing: O beautiful for spacious skies For amber waves of grain For purple moutain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed his grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea!
I’m from Mesa Az. I noticed the Superstition Mountains and weavers needle in the beginning of your video. Fun to see what I look at every time I go outside ! Thank you for a wonderful tribute to our beautiful state.
Phoenix native here! Moving to Flagstaff tomorrow! I love Arizona so much and don’t see myself ever moving to another state, I hope everyone gets a chance to see what a beautiful state it is in person! Oh and nothing beats our sunsets! 🦂🌲🌵⛰♥️
How about there being a civil war battle in Arizona? Most people aren't aware that AZ split in two and the southern half joined the confederacy during the civil war. There was a small skirmish at Picacho Pass (about 30 miles north of Tucson) a few days before the war ended. Arizona also lost what is now Las Vegas due to their secession after the war ended (as punishment and to give water- the Colorado River- to Nevada which did not secede.) Tucson was the capital of Confederate Arizona.
I love arizona, it's amazing here. It's beautiful, always sunny and it's so big here, there is so much desert that hasn't been built up yet. Not to mention hardly no natural disasters. The worst we get is monsoon season for 2 months.
@@hannahsenior5124 tell that to the Safeway that burned to the ground a few years ago. The transition from Monsoon to Fall is the killer, a giant swath of north valley, including my home was damaged heavily by two freak hail/wind/rain events Oct 2010 that I have not seen occur anywhere else on video. There was almost no air to breath, we were inside of the part of a thunderstorm that is usually 20,000 feet high, it was about 200 feet high, I still hate thinking about what I saw out my window. Allstate declared a disaster support structure for it, every roof fir tens of miles replaced. It was actually a blessing for me financially as I really needed a new roof.
@@evankeal I'm talking about where I live in Arizona you idiot, you do understand that parts of a state can be different when it comes to weather right?
I was born and raised in Arizona, and I have been all over the world due to me being in the military. And many cities across our planet. And I must say, I will always call Phoenix home.
I'll bet your dad knows my mom, everyone in Winslow practically does she's just really friendly and likes everyone. She just turned 84 and worked for the Santa Fe railroad for 20 years and retired then worked at walmart and retired from there to. Ask your dad if he knows Nixie.
These are pretty interesting. I've been in AZ my entire life and another amazing thing here, if you don't mind a ton of tourists, is Sedona and Jerome. Sedona is absolutely beautiful. And Jerome is a wonderful ghost town and it has ,if I'm correct, the 2nd most haunted place in the state, The Grand Jerome Hotel.
Great video! I was born in PHX and still live here 40 years later! I am so grateful you and your family enjoyed AZ! I learned a lot of fun things about my homestate in your video! Thank you!
@@DawnNLN-ee2kh What bothers me most about the snowbirds here are those roving gangs of elderly ladies who attack fit young men with warning, stealing our wallets and (if they can get by with it) our Buicks. They're just blue-haired punks.
I have lived in Tucson my whole life (59 years). I still learned some new facts from your video! It’s refreshing to hear such positive things said about our wonderful state!
A really nice video! I moved to New Mexico from the east in 1990 and I still reside here. If I did it all over I would have move there instead. I'm a desert person and I feel that Arizona is so much more picturesque than NM in that respect. To make it even better it's a red state and it doesn't follow the daylight savings time B.S.!
hannah senior Well, I have a house and I'm relatively planted here in NM, however, I live very close to the NM/AZ state line and I can enjoy AZ whenever I want....just a hop, skip, and a jump for me.
Doz Altair I’m not sure if “neglect” is the right word! Lol If I added another fact we’d have to rename the video! Thank you for watching and commenting!!!
Thank you! I love our state. I appreciate your recognition of the beauty that makes our so state unique. Come visit Sedona...you might just end moving here.
Ayy!! Fellow yavspai county man! Prescott is about 40 minutes from between Mayer and Dewey but am there just about every day Prescott national Forest is amazing
You where talking about state parks but you should of brought up the only state memorial in Arizona , The one outside of Yarnell in memory of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots . I haven't made the hike in yet on the trail they made but I do make the stop to the trailhead when I heading back home to Yuma from Prescott
Glad you like the state i live in. From Mesa AZ, We all say thanks for showing some of the treasures Arizona. Many different climates and wonders for different tastes in the state. If you get out of the cities you find many amazing sites and things to do.
Great video! I’m from the Kingman area. Glad you enjoyed your visit to Arizona!!Lake Havasu City with the actual London Bridge is a great place to visit. We also have a HUGE crater in Arizona. I think it was a filming location for starman. Always something new to see here!
I never liked eegees, personally. Was always sad when the class pizza party turned into a class eegee party because of popular demand. Regardless, I'm still proud of the fact that we have Eegees, and no one else does. 😂
Thank you for showing us what outstanding and attractive locations exist in Arizona! Quite a hiker's haven, but there's something for every taste, it seems. Beautiful!
lol, I've addressed this in many many other comments. You are correct. I GOOFED! I hope to fix it in another video I"m releasing called, "All the things I got wrong about Arizona!" Still, I love the state! I'm thankful you watched and thanks for the comment!
I'm from Calgary Alberta and our family first visited Arizona as part of a vacation in early August of 2011. One day while checking out the sports stadiums in Glendale the temperature reached 123 F! This was quite the shock to one's system. We returned to AZ in 2015 and hope to go back this in time for yet another heat wave! We don't get much of that in this part of Western Canada. Thanks so much Bill and I will be sure to check out some of your other videos as well.
"The Apache trout is one of only two fish native to the state of Arizona..." There are, or were, 36 native fish species in Arizona. Maybe you were looking for the word endemic...
I'm not from Arizona but I feel they adopted me I live in Tucson, Az passed the casino Dell Sol mins ago from the points and the people are so nice and always want at you when you walk but our say hi when they look eye sweet county cowboy life bug difference from Brooklyn, Ny but I will never forget where I came from
I was born in Colorado and moved there when I was 2 and moved back when I was 5 when I was 9 we moved back to AZ then moved back to Colorado when I was 13 and have been in Colorado ever since. When I’m finally able to leave the house I’m moving back to AZ! Sorry Colorado maybe when I have kids lol

If you do talk about them make sure you know what breed of Palm trees 🌴 you’re talking about I believe there over 13 kinds of palm trees? Oh and most importantly don’t freak out when you see a scorpion or spider or a rattlesnake! Prepare to see a lot of huge ass cock roaches!!!! Oh and most of the Mexican food is disgusting so is a Chinese food pho 🍲 is also really girls out there for some reason and prepare for there to be no good green chili.... Stay clear of the dirty water parks that’s all there is to do out there besides the green Canyon.... (That was also my rant lol)
PurpleTigerCat yes very aware of all of that my grandparents live there to me there are more pros than cons and it really depends on who you are and what you can stand
Shaylee Geiser plan to move out there when I’m on my own I like Colorado but it’s out of my budget and I find it more nice with the Weather I like a the head more then the cold
