Eric S You would think a second movie would be the end for our yellow buddy, but as it turns out the new film was a step in the right direction, which brought it back up to overused for now
Kamek how was it over the years, it was a rough ride, starting at the top of the meta, but slowly becoming outclassed by the other Mons coming out each generation
JoeBro915 Newer threats like the Loud House unfortunately bring it down to border line, where it does great against the likes of Henry Danger though. Competitive pokemon takes no prisoners everybody
It's sad that a 50% pickrate isn't enough for Smogon to consider OU overcentralized by Lando-T (you think I'm kidding?, at 1875+ rank, as of the 7th of may, it's usage in OU is 46.833%, it was around 50 in February, it's fucking ridiculous). But scarily enough, this is still one of the healthiest OU metas in history. Gen 1 Tauros 96% usage, chansey 93%. Gen 2 Snorlax 95%. Gen 3 T-Tar 62%. Gen 4 T-Tar at 54%. Gen 5 was surprisingly healthy, with the highest usage stat being 38% percent (but that gen was ruled by 2 archetypes, rain and sand). Gen 6 is 46% with clefable, and then there is Gen 7. I hope some anti-meta stuff comes around next gen, that's always fun.
I love how the last clip works both ways: Denial over needing Lando, and denial over needing ice coverage for Lando. And trust me, I've been in both camps.
Yeah it could even be interpreted like "I don't need any ice/water moves (The water, he's looking at)". Cause you do need a Landorus and a counter for opposing Landorus' :P
Landorous: the incarnation of a terribly designed game breaker that's so game centralizing that it became a requirement for the usual meta-OU scrubs to cling to because they can't figure out how to not cheese with it.
+^ It's more due to being annoyed at how stale pokemon became because it's literally just Landorous, Suicune, Tapu LeLe, P-Groudon, Rayquay, Mimikyu (weirdly) and the occasional Scizor. Pokemon is fun when people do a lot of different things with different mons, but nowadays one match basically sums up the entirety of pokemon PvP and offers nothing more...because the chances of running into anything more are less likely than digging up a diamond vein in your backyard. There are times i'm convinced that me deliberately avoiding using OU+ pokemon is the literal only example of someone doing so since i almost never run into any non-OUs or non-obviously-hacked-full-legendary teams used by idiots who don't tweak movesets.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sPPAHok1XAY.html You would think people would easily get this but clearly not...I KNOW SNORLAX CAME IN GEN 1 AND GARCHOMP IS GEN 4 OMG. The point of the video is not what mon was best in the generation it was introduced in. The point is which mon was the best in each gens ou. Snorlax came out in gen 1..but was the best mon in gen 2 hands down. Garchomp came out in gen 4 but was banned to ubers..came back to ou in gen 5 and was amazing. Lando-T was introduced in gen 5 has been amazing in every gen its been used but in gen 7 its shown with z moves its single handely the best mon rn. READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING JESUS
Gen 2 has a gen 1 pokemon as the best in ou Gen 3 has a gen 2 pokemon as the best in ou Gen 4 has a gen 3 pokemon as the best in ou Gen 5 had a gen 4 pokemon as the best in ou Hahahaha
Gen 1 and Gen 2 are so accurate. Tauros was so OP in Gen 1 with it's high speed and attack, knocking out everything with Hyper Beam. (which was Physical AND no need for recharging if you knock the enemy out, which is almost certainly happening.) And With Earthquake to Stop Rock types and Gengar, he is set. The only thing potentialy stopping it is Aerodactyl, but with a decent special stat with Blizzard, it won't be easy for Aerodactyl. Not to mention Aerodactyl's moveset in Gen 1 was lacking. Snorlax in Gen 2 was OP, because it introduced Rest and Sleep Talk sets. And it introduced Curse. Snorlax was one of the only pokemon in Gen 2 who totally benefits from Curse. It is an unstoppable Pokemon, especially with 2 curse ups or more. With Fighting types, their moveset was limited. Dynamic punch is risky, Reserval is situational and only Submission and Hi Jump Kick (It was called Hi Jump Kick in Gen 2) was really any good, but then again, Submission is not *that* powerful and has recoil damage while Hi Jump Kick has a 10% chance of missing, resulting in huge amounts of recoil damage. Curse, Earthquake, Rest and Body Slam with a Berry that recovers sleep is perfect for Snorlax. Toxic and Thunder Wave won't help, you can just keep on resting, Will-o-Wisp wasn't a thing until Gen 3. So barely anything can cripple Snorlax, then again, you can just Rest that burn off with Rest anyways. Edit: And why wasn't Garchomp at Gen 4 instead of 5? He got banned to Ubers in Gen 4 because of his diverse movepool and rather high speed. Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Swords Dance, Fire Fang, Draco Meteor, Crunch, Outrage, Iron Tail, Aqua Tail, Stealth Rock, Shadow Claw, Iron Head, I can go on and on about his incredibly diverse Movepool. He still did fantastic in Ubers! And in Gen 5 he is still great, but more Pokemon started to match Garchomp.
Interesting how Gens 2-5 had a Pokemon from the generation before as its top OU threat. Then Gen 6 had a Gen 1, while Gen 7 had a Gen 5. Has this been updated for Gen 8?
If you don’t understand tauros this is it: tauros uses body slam. Yeah I can fight this. Tauros uses hyper beam. Oh yeah gen 1 hyper beam doesn’t need to recharge if kills
Gen 5 and 6 seem a bit BS since Rotom-W seemed.to be such a killer choice in Gen 5 and 6 yes Clefable was good but Landorus still.kinda ruled everything like it did in Gen 7
And then gen 5 garchomp got killed by better threats like Keldeo latios politoed and yeah. Garchomp was definitely not the best in gen 5. Gets thrashed by a lot and is good overall. Far from the best.
battlepower777 nope Tyranitar Has Earthquake, Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, Best Move In The Game, Rock Slide, Ice Beam, Dragon Dance, Body Slam, Focus Punch... Versitality And Stats Is BOTH. TOO. GREAT. That's Why TTar Is The Best Gen 3 OU Pokémon.
Speaks volumes to the power and popularity of Lando-T when I've been a Poke player since RBY, never played serious competitive, yet understood the joke perfectly lol
Tauros - Without Golem, Rhydon, or Snorlax, you’re fucked. Snorlax - Curses! Tyranitar - Special Wall Jirachi - Wish for Mercy! Garchomp - Ban my Sand Veil? Then I’ll get “Rough”! Clefable - Huh? Landorus(T) - FEAR ME!
He was good, but no. High special and speed is good, but he has pretty bad defense, and a pretty bad move pool Tauros, the actual best pokemon in gen 1 had High attack Body slam, to deal damage and cripple opponents with paralysis Hyper beam, which didn't use up a turn to recover if it K.O'd in gen 1 Normal type STAB Decent defenses And Blizzard to counter Golem and Rydon, the only 2 pokemon with a chance to survive more than a few of his normal type moves
That dank guy not even close. High special and crit rate is good, but Chansey, Lapras, Exeggutor, opposing Alazakam, and Starmie aall him to hell and back (latter two must be wary of T wave). Most of the time all he's good for is paralyzing a couple things. Tauros basically two hit KOs nearly everything in the metagame. Tauros is so good that not using him is basically shooting yourself in the foot
Alakazam is good, arguably the 5th best mon in the tier with the psychic typing, very high special and speed and access to thunder wave. But it's only attacking moves are psychic (resisted by the ever-present psychic types) and seismic toss so it's usually reserved for defensive purposes, taking on opposing psychic types and dissing out damage and forcing switches.
Bruh- Snorlax is in gen 1 not gen 2 Tyranitar is gen 2 not gen 3 Jirachi is gen 3 not gen 4 Garchomp is gen 4 not gen 5 Clefable is gen 1 not gen 6 Landorus is gen 5 not gen 7 -_-
Garchomps should have been the scene from the lifeguard episode where spongebob yells "killer sharks" and the shark responds "hey that's my family your talking about"
"Jigglypuff used Moonblast" "It´s super effective!" "The opposing Hydreigon fainted!" Oh wait, it´s Gen 5. Fuck fairies, Dragon should be super effective to them.
