I’ll say just buy a solar charger separately, used that to charge a regular power bank. That way you can hide the power under the panels, away from the sun. A had a similar solar power bank and its Li-Po battery pack got expended after a few solar charges, broke the panel off. I guess it will be better if they used 18650 or 21700 batteries instead, Li-Po batteries are afraid of extreme heat, and shouldn’t every be put under the sun
That's a great idea.. it's a shame that you can't disconnect the panels on these. You could also shield the main battery part and left the other three panels do the charging.
These panels are simply too small. Todays power hungry phones cannot be charged with this setup daily. It can be well made, efficient, compact - still, size matters.
I bought a cheap power bank off Amazon and it works great. I've had it for a couple years and no problems. I have also seen ones on AE you add your own batteries to it and can use it as a power bank. They have those now too.
That's a good idea.. having one that takes 18650/21700 cells. I'd want to make sure they can handle the combined cells fine. Without overcharging one cell or the other.
@@DarrenYeoYT They are very inexpensive. Like between $5 and $10 because they're just the case. Not sure you can add 2 different sizes I think they're for the same but I could be wrong.
These things are gimmicky and generally do something you never really wanna do with a Lithium cell (roast it in the sun for long periods of time). Just buy a good portable 28w+ solar charger separately.
I'd be more inclined to buy that one if the extra solar panels could detach because i would only use them for camping or power outages or something when I'm not going to be around a functioning wall jack. It's pointless to carry all that extra weight around and the more you do the more worn out they're going to get.
Yeah I agree, mentioned that in the video - think over time they will get worn out like anything, but they seem reasonably sturdy, given you don't intentionally pull at them
